Great video been trying all week to watch this one but been busy as i run a landscaping business. Finally had a chance. Good stuff man stay safe out there.
Sometimes you just have to change and adept to the situation. I like how you just adjust/make do-no fuss no complaining--just do it. What life is all about.
I love your channel - I just bought my 2024 3500 dually here in Toronto Canada . Can I ask bro Where would I get the aux - fuel tank and tool box the dealer here said Ram dose not supply them I have to buy it after market . Any suggestions on which one to buy. Thanks for all the great inspiring content
Congrats on your purchase. My aux fuel tank/tool box combo is by RDS. You can find them online or in stores like Northern Tools. I bought mine online for $1500 shipped.
Nice video man. Those 4" rollers attached to your trailer for the straps, do you always leave them snug, so you can slide them around, do you tighten them down once the strap is tight, or just leave them snug. Do you dispatch yourself.
Those are free sliding in the track and when you tighten the strap, they don’t move anywhere so you don’t have to tighten the winches at all. I use a dispatcher.
OK awesome, thanks for the feedback. I noticed you always twist your straps 1 time, why is that. Fairly new at this, just curious. Is your dispatcher looking to bring on another driver, I'm seriously struggling, with the dispatcher I have. Been here 4 weeks, 3 days of not finding me loads, 4 times of a deadhead with 285miles +. You seem to be pretty consistent with loads, I'd love to have the opportunity to jump on. Appreciate your time man 🤙
Hey Alex you have the most interesting Hot Shot Channel that I have found. I see a lot of carriers are using Progressive but I heard they don't pay on some claims is that who you would suggest or is there a better carrier?
Thank you! With insurance it comes down to what options you have and the price. When your authority is over two years old and you don’t have any insurance claims, you will have many more options vs new authority. I went with progressive when it was time to renew because it was $3k cheaper for the year.
Hey Alex, great content & info I appreciate it! I was an otr owner operator with an extended sprinter but my dispatch co never got me the type of consistent ltl line you get. I’m thinking of becoming a hotshot, especially if I had a dispatch like yours… Is there any way you’d be so generous as to share with me who your dispatcher is? Maybe on a pm? Thanks in advance & keep on keeping on!!
I really like your videos, however in your next video or a future video, will you please give your net pay instead of gross? I’m kind of curious as to how much you spend on fuel, food and other things.
Hi Alex, This Thomas Belk and I run a moving company with two trucks on the road. One is a Class A rig and the other isn’t but both run out of state. Any advice on what company to use for my ELD? Stay safe of the road!
@@Mr.AlexKogan oh ok thank you for answering… now I learned something more. I’m still watching 🍿 I’m up to the part your in the rain 🌧️ moving the box over . Very relaxing videos 😊
Not bad for a week. I'm considering doing semi when I retire. Just run loads when wife and I want to visit another area. (Sell house and everything of course)
Hey Alex, I pay 27k to insure my authority in Florida with Progressive. No accidents or violations. Tried multiple companies but turned away because I'm a hotshot. Any recommendations? Also had my authority since 2020.
The reason is because it’s Florida. My insurance would have been $10k higher per year in Florida. That’s Why I registered my truck and company in Missouri. If you can register everything in a different state, you can get cheaper rate.
Hey brother, you might know this already and just like doing it the way you do it. But, there's a much better way to thread your ratchet straps. Close the handle when you feed the strap through and pull all the slack through, then start ratcheting so the strap will be coming back out the top instead of in the middle of the ratchet. Hope this helps 👍 love your channel
I almost unsubscribed because of the butcher job you did to that load. You had all you need on you rig and around to not bend an inch of that box. We meet on the road in the future I will calm down to curse you out for what you did not do to protect the cargo that is now your baby to cause no harm too. I would be fired for my half partner in the business see me do this.
Good to see your still doing your thing Alex! You definitely motivate me to get this hotshot thing going💪🏾
Still going strong. Don’t plan to give up anytime soon unless I win the lottery 🤣
Awesome update Alex. Great week that worked out really good. Enjoy your time off.

No point to complain because nothing will change. Just accept the way things are and move on. 🙂

Alex I really really enjoy your content and am thinking about starting the hotshot business myself. Can you please let me know your average expenses?
The birds lmbo!! 😂😂😂 sound like the Bronx zoo

I used to work at a metal building factory and we build straps to go around them cardboard boxes built out of 2x4’s so that they wouldn’t crush.
That would be a great thing to have on all the cardboard box loads.

How much was fuel expenses on 8,100. And good job Bud! Like the content.
Thank you. On the $8450 gross I spent $1255 for fuel.
Why do you twist your strap when tying down? Lmk & ty 👍🏻💪🏻
So they don’t vibrate from the wind.
Hi Alex,
This Thomas Belk and I run a moving company with two trucks on the road. One is a Class A rig and the other isn’t but both run out of state. Any advice on what company to use for my ELD? Stay safe of the road!
I use Motive. Really happy with the ELD and no issues. This is formerly known as Keep trucking. Very popular company.
Thanks for the insight Alex! I’ll try it out!
Question - Who are you using for commercial insurance?
Progressive.
Question.. any reason why the straps are not flat across but have a little ribbon twist?
I usually do that on tall loads so they don’t vibrate from the wind so it became a habit to twist them on all the loads.
@@Mr.AlexKogan oh ok thank you for answering… now I learned something more.

Alex, I have a question about registering in a different state, as I live in Florida as well. Can I PM you?
You can message me on Instagram.

How much did you profit?
I don’t calculate profit by the week.
@@Mr.AlexKogan why not? You calculate how much you spent on fuel for the week.
@@jamesnelson5700 I calculate fuel but I don’t divide my truck payment into 4 to subtract that from each week. What’s the point?
