I would call that a perfect review. I have the same setup as you, and I agree with everything you said. I also have the slide in kitchen and tucker box for camping. My Drifta draws have been used nearly every day for 8 years now. If I'm not camping, they are used for work, filled with tools and heavy equipment. They have taken a beating. The only thing that has gone wrong, is when I lost a couple of black plastic leg tips, on the bottom of the table legs. I found replacements at Bunnings, for a couple of dollars. Then I drilled a single 1/8th hole through the side of each plastic leg tip, and inserted a simple pop rivet. I never lost another one. Problem solved.
Gday kevin thanks so much mate. What a great bit of kit they are. Shit everyday for eight years? Thats incredible. I love the slide out kitchen and tucker box it just didnt fit my budget at the time. Lol funny you say about the black caps i lost one a couple months ago so i will be going to bunnings and using your idea haha thanks so much mate
Too right Pete, great review. I spent countless hours searching the internet for a set of drawers for my work van. I came across drifta drawers. I made the trip to Gloucester and got a set fitted. Best thing I've ever done. It's made my work life organised and looks extremely professional! well done Drifta, I've had them in for four years, not one problem.
Great review. We have had Drifta drawers in our car for over 3 years. All I can say is they have performed flawlessly and I will put them in my next car. We have the table option as well. It works brilliantly. I have zero hesitation recommending Drifta. They were worth every cent
Good to see a good review on a product I make! Been working at drifta for 2 and a half years and I don’t see many reviews on these drawers by customer so top job mate!
Josh mate you should be so proud of what you guys put together at that business brother. Thanks for the kind words and keep it up. Appreciate you taking the time to comment mate!
Wow! 3 and a half years and still loving it! That says something for a company! The simplicity of it all (the slides in particular) is brilliant (and cheaper)! My dad always used Formica for slides. He would cut some wide strips (maybe 3”) and affix to both surfaces so that the right sides were together. They slide extremely well too. I plan to self build a system like this here in the US using some of the ideas from Drifta!
Wow, what a likeable guy you are. Seriously, you got more information in 10 minutes than most do in double the time. Very practical manner, well done. I've subscribed and will watch more now.
Pete and crew, What a gem of a channel mate. I stumbled across your channel by watching a few Drifter videos, he mentioned Buck, so i watched Buck's video on the WA 4wd show last year when he was chatting with you guys. I've just finished watching all your videos, really enjoyed every single one, mate.....thought I'd share my thoughts: I recon its the rawness and honesty of your comments and emotions through out all your vids that makes this a special channel. I'm enjoying the relaxed way you include and chat with who ever is on your adventures, checking out what they're having for dinner or what's the best part of their trip, it feels like I'm getting the experience first hand with out any script or falseness. You have a good bunch of people on your adventures, Creber, Mitchell and the regulars are legends. I think Mark fits in really well, I enjoy seeing what he's cooking up. The drone work is really adding something to your videos, I'm enjoying that night time footage. Finally, the humor you attack every challenge with is bloody funny, puts a smile on my face every time, and that laugh........ RAD!! Good on ya
Wow jezza what a comment mate. I am lost for words but would love to say thank you for the kind words mate. I really will value your feedback mate be it good or bad it will help us improve! Wow, just wow cant thank you enough! What a guy buck is hey?!
nice review mate. We've had our full car back kitchen set up with drawers, 70 Lt SS water tank, table the whole works.Probably had them for over 5 years now, we got em when the truck had about 15K on the clock now it has over 185k's! They look as new as the day we got them. Thousands of miles of corrugations, did the Cape an kakadu, all over the Alpine regions in Vic etc...Buy it right the first time you won't have any issues. Luke and his team are terrific and if you have a problem they fix it period. You should read his story where he started.... amazing.
Great review Pete. Don't own any Drifta gear myself (YET), but all their stuff I've looked at seems to be really well thought out and tough as nails. Hope you're able to make the May trip!!
Great review mate. The only thing I'd correct you on are the steel ball bearing runners take up around 37mm per draw, and on an aluminium set with 3mm wall this can be as little as 43mm total. The ply sides on some range from 12-16mm= 24 to 32mm total. Only 11 to 18mm difference in total. One question I have, how far out can your draws come before they tip or don't go back in without being lifted? Just trying to work out if I can fit certain large items in and still get them out without the draw being pulled to a place it doesn't like?
Great review mate, nice honest and no BS, love your channel man you boys in WA know how to do things. I personally don’t have Drifta drawers but always like to see product reviews especially when they have been in a vehicle for a specific period of time. Keep up the great work with the channel and look forward to more on 2019
Onya Pete, that's probably one of the best reviews I've seen of any product, I didn't realise how much space is gained using the teflon strips instead of roller guides in draw systems... they certainly took the simplicity concept to another level
Lol was literally about to call you sid and then realised the username haha. Thanks so much, such a smart concept i only wish i was smart enough to come up with it. Just brilliant. Thanks for the kind words!
Good review bud, Id love a set of drifta drawers for sure, i do like most of there gear. Ive got the Titan drawers in my 200 and ive never had a drama with them but they are fairly basic and cant change much with them. It would be between drifta an MSA drawers for me
Hey mate, a great review of these drawers Just have to say at the 8.30 mark you mentioned a half eaten packet of twisties WFM I actually had a half eaten packet of twisties in my pantry so I stopped the video grabbed them and continued haha. On a side note I have looked at these drawers also, specifically the teflon strip idea and no bearings or slides. I agree with you on the extra room required for bearings. I'll be making my own as I've been reno-ing and building things for years. great work onya mate. 200 series owner.
Paul thanks for taking the time to comment. Hahaha the old pack of twisties never disappoints! Mate if i could build my own i would so good on you! Would love to see the finished product!
Nice work Pete, Love the review. Quick question. The silicon spray you use. And do you get sand and grit build up from beach and dusty tracks get caught up in the Teflon? And spray ? Cheers again mate.
Great review. I have a similar set up in my truck. I'm going to cut the top plywood platform so my fridge sits down into the drawer. When not using the fridge I replace the top panel and the drawers go back as before.
Good gear mate, im on board with the weight saving philosophy, ended up making a platform for the back of our fj, so much more versatile, & a lot less heavy, I think the trick is finding what works for you eh, always keen to see other peoples setups & how they make it roll for them
Awesome review Pete, almost changed the cheap ones I had in my Pootrol for a set of Driftas drawers, but sold the car instead 🤣.. He does make some great gear and top Ozzie bloke who likes to support his own countries industry 👊🏽 I have a clear view drop down slide I bought from him along with my awning. But decided against that option with the new 200 series, and went with custom drawers. We can catch up when the builds finished mate.
The cost is the big killer for me. I wanna get a set for my FJ as it’s pretty much the only system that fits properly. But fuck me $1950 before shipping is nuts.
Great stuff Pete great to have a honest no nonsense review mate. I have always loved the teflon strips Drifta use, just nice and simple exactly whats needed. Cheers mate keep it up
Have looked into the drifta drawer systems, the only thing that worries me about having a wellbodied ute with a canopy is the fact it doesn’t seal well, not that I’ll be going out of my way to find deep creek crossings but don’t reckon the timber would like a splash around in the water, end up ruining a good set of drawers if a situation like that came up. Either chance it or spend 3k for MSA drawers though..
Good thinking brother, i forgot to mention in the video that i have had at least three or four water containers leak slightly on the top of the drawers and it did absolutely nothing so i reckon they are sealed pretty well hey. I love your thinking though very smart
WA Camping Adventures ended up ordering the number 1 package for my ute mate, easyslide dropslide with it. She’s dear as poison but it’s a buy once cry once arrangement, hope to have the same luck with mine as you’ve had with yours! Keep safe mate
What a fantastic set of drawers and a fantastic review! How are the drawers stopped from coming out? I saw you undone some sort of catch?? Such ashame they don’t make these in the UK 😢
Gday luke thanks for watching and commenting mate! Yes there is a spring loaded latch at the back that stops it from coming out and dropping, just a quick turn of the latch and it will stay open so you can clean it out etc
Gday mate thanks for watching it means alot! I think that is the standard height but you can 100% fully customise to your liking, if you want it 20mm higher then no worries!
Great review Pete, I recently got a quote from Drifta and a little pricey but your paying for top quality Aussie made gear. Can you tell me how this came when you picked it up in Perth, was it a flat pack that you had to put together? Thanks to Buck in FNQ also as I'm 99% sold on a set for my iLoad van. Cheers
Gday rob thanks for watching and taking the time to comment mate. The drawers came as a large package(the size of the two drawers together) with all the accessories inside a drawer. Pick up as one piece and insert to car, no flat pack at all mate. Fit the wings and off you go! Thanks for the kind words mate
I am the same with the fridge, would have doubled up on the drawers on one side and keep the fridge down low if I had my time again. Guess its standing on the bumper till... ever...lol
Excellent review! How long have you been working for Drifta? Only joking but you’ve certainly sold me on them. What about weight saving? Are they heavier or lighter than the 4WD Super Centre ones? Cheers
😂😂😂not much of a face for sales i reckon david! Mate thats a good question i would say they would be close to same as supacentre says 100kgs approx, but i can lift my drifta drawers myself so hard to say mate. Cheers legend!
Great review Pete! I'm seriously considering a set for my cruiser. Interested in the configuration you would have gone, for if you had your time over ;) As they have the teflon strips, I'm guessing there is a stopper at the top to stop the drawers from falling out? Is there much room losed at the back of the drawer?
Thanks for the kind words colleen! There is definitely a stopper/latch at the back to stop it sliding out. Maximum about 20-25mm thick so no loss of space at all! Appreciate you commenting!
You didn't mention dust. Does dust get into them mate? What about price? They aren't cheap from what I've heard, but hey you get what you pay for don't you. Thanks for the great review. I'm looking at a full kit out for my next touring rig.
Gday michael, with the dust, id say they only get dust on the outside as my landcruiser is not the most air tight rig haha. have never noticed dust on the inside unless i have caused it! i think i paid around 1700 freighted to me from NSW to Perth
Mick mate the install could not of been easier even for me being a brickie! Half of my brain is gone already so im sure it will be a walk in the park for you!
good review don't like the idea of having to spray the drawer teflon slides they will get dust/sand stuck to them I'm probably going to get the MSA drawers with s/s rollers
@@jockwar i take it you haven't used silicone spray. it isn't wet after about 0.3seconds after spraying it. so i say again. it is why you use it for this application. it is also why it is used on printed circuit boards in electronics. doesn't hold dust and isn't wet.
Gday toby! Thanks for asking and commenting mate! As far as i know its the same treated marine ply as the rest of the unit. Great choice toby you wont regret it.
For everyone looking for some cons... my opinion: they are too heavy, my drawers slid around in corners until I adjusted the catches better, the diamond lip guard is ugly, and the face of the table is less finished than I was expecting. All minor things. Agree with all the pros. Would buy again if there was a way to reduce the weight like removing material in the floor area or using different material.
Gday darren thanks for commenting mate! I can see what your saying about the diamond lip but geez i love it lol. As far as weight goes i think these are a fair bit lighter than your average drawers, titans for example come in around 70kgs and these are around 45 max. Just from what i have read. Will keep an eye on the latches but after 2.5 years they are as good as the first day i got them. Thanks for the feedback mate!
Gday, what supports the draws when they slide out, and how much of the back of the draw is left in side the carcass of the set up and possibly in reachable ?
Gday neil, as far as i know mate the drawers are quite tight inside the opening so when they are fully pulled out they rest lightly on the backend of the drawer(if that makes sense) As far as how much is sticking inside carcass, i reckon 150mm approximately and is 100% reachable.
Gday beth! Wow 25 week wait thats crazy!!! I got mine freighted and they came basically in one big unit. So to install it was actually quite easy on my own. I pulled the drawers out and the carcass is really light and easy to grab. Insert it in place and the tie downs from memory are using existing points in my cruiser. If i found it easy to install, you will breeze through trust me haha
@@markl4528 gday mark! Mate there is a latch at the back of the drawers that you can clip up or down depending on whether you want to stop the drawers coming out completely or whether you want to take them out too!
Still bloody magic jarrod cheers for asking mate, i have taken the bold move to cut it in half myself and change to a stacker set haha check our “quarantine projects” video and i run through it! Hahaha
No way mate your eyes are bloody sharp! They are recessed into the draws around 5mm but need to also stick out a few mm to rub on the other piece on the carcass. Shit i hope i have explained that correctly!
@@WACampingAdventures Yep that's how I thought they'd be...thanks for confirming mate. Guessing that's done on both sides, bloody simple but great idea. Rippa vid by the way!
Thanks for the kind words! Oh for sure they are a game changer and have always slid well(i just make sure i silicon spray them often and they slide beautifully!)
@@WACampingAdventures well it's 2 halves. you said you fitted them. Rip the top board off, they'll probably bolt together in two halves. Stack left on right then cut the top board with a circular saw for top and side panels. Couple tekkies, she be right
I don't believe you would leave a 1/2 pack of twisties in your draws. I recond you'd smash the whole packet down in one hit...lol...Cheese or chicken twisties, what's your flavor...cheers...👍🍻...
That's rad...Chicken is the best flavor by far...Top review...Straight into it no bullshit that's what people want to hear...I've meet Luke from Drifta and he's a rad Aussie guy, down to earth and very proud of his product, so he should be...👌🍻...Keep the rad vids coming. ill be watching...Try to get Buck over there as soon as you can. Now that would be the most raddest collaboration ever...🤣🤣🤣...
Thats more like it rad rooster should be your name haha. Thanks for the support mate and look forward to the day we collab with buck! That is mint that you have met the mastermind behind this bit of kit
This is not a review , more like a fan boy video . At the start of the vid you said you will get to the pro's and con's a bit later , why not state at the start of the vid you have no con's ??
Luke sorry mate but i disagree. Why should i have to state if i have no cons at the start? Its the way my reviews are structured mate. Do you have a set? Do you have cons? I dont mate so im sorry to upset you pal. Thanks for commenting though buddy!
Every product in this world has cons, they are factored in at the time of design and engineering, some may describe them as compromises, identifying and talking about them is also a compromised challenge.
Good work Pete, another pro is weight saving. Some of those 4WD supa centre drawers weigh 70kgs empty.
Thanks simon! Shit mate i didnt even think of that at all! Great call
Well nearly everyday. Even on weekends, I'm always opening and closing them for one reason or another. My wife thinks I'm mad.
Kevin i have to agree with you mate. Sometimes ill just take a beer and go and tinker with whats in the drawers for no reason at all. Haha
Damn shane! Why cant i word it perfectly like that mate haha well said
Great review. We have had Drifta drawers in our car for over 3 years. All I can say is they have performed flawlessly and I will put them in my next car. We have the table option as well. It works brilliantly. I have zero hesitation recommending Drifta. They were worth every cent
Your review is better than mine hahaha totally agree and will put them in my next car for sure!
When a fridge drop slide costs almost as much as the fridge, something's not right.

Have a set of Drifta drawers in my dual cab ute for about 4 years now. No issues what so ever! Great honest review.
And many more years to come i reckon simon! Thanks so much mate
Solid honest review ... good to see them holding up so well after 3-4 years. Cheers
Thanks mate! Appreciate you taking the time to comment! Solid bloody things they are
Glad I came across this review and glad to see that you couldn’t come up with any cons. I’ll be ordering a set for sure.
Yep our drifta drawers r still my fav mod 7 yrs on. Great aussie product. The table is killer.
Game changer that table i reckon! Cheers legend

Yeh for sure i agree and i didnt want to take anything away from the other brands at all. Just the table got me hook line and sinker haha
It's a great set up. I love it. But you can get the titan set up and then buy an engel for the same price. It's a tough decision.
Hey mate, a great review of these drawers Just have to say at the 8.30 mark you mentioned a half eaten packet of twisties WFM I actually had a half eaten packet of twisties in my pantry so I stopped the video grabbed them and continued haha. Love the review. Quick question.
The silicon spray you use. And do you get sand and grit build up from beach and dusty tracks get caught up in the Teflon? And spray ?
Cheers again mate.
Bloody oath Cobra, just the review I needed before making a purchase! Thanks
Great review. I have a similar set up in my truck. I'm going to cut the top plywood platform so my fridge sits down into the drawer. When not using the fridge I replace the top panel and the drawers go back as before.
Thanks gary! Great idea mate would love to see some photos!
Nice review. My drawers have been going well since mid-Dec 2016.
Bloody quality hey stuart! Thanks for taking the time to comment mate
Yes. As others have said. Lightweight is a Pro. Great review. I’ve got the same drawers and completely agree with you.
Lol cant believe i didnt mention that jase! Bloody love em mate! Thanks for taking the time to comment mate
Nice one Pete great review they do build good stuff. Had a look around the factory when I was over last. Nothing they won't try to do for you...😎
Thanks phil. That would have been mint. They have always seemed like an awesome company and have been nothing but helpful to me

Good review mate. Very informative and just the right video length. Too work

I have a clear view drop down slide I bought from him along with my awning. But decided against that option with the new 200 series, and went with custom drawers.
We can catch up when the builds finished mate.
Awesome review mate, love ya channel :)

Amazing review
Definitely help me work out what I should get..nothing beats a well setup storage system :)
well said michael and thanks for the kind words mate!
The cost is the big killer for me. I wanna get a set for my FJ as it’s pretty much the only system that fits properly. But fuck me $1950 before shipping is nuts.
Agree 100% with the review. An excellent product produced by Luke and Beechy at Drifta.
Awesome rick. Cant go wrong with such a simple but effective system. Less components to break but so smart at the same time.
Gret review Pete as honest as they get.
Bloody legend simon thank you mate!
Thanks for that review Pete
sweet setup !
Absolutely! Shame its gone now though😢😢😢
Your channel and Pete’s channel are both awesome to watch. Cheers from Malaysia.
Nice review mate , I do like watching anything on Drifta. Even though I have MSA set , my god there great .

Guess its standing on the bumper till... ever...lol
Hahaha yep well said michael. Yeh the old hopping up on the bumper will have to be the go hahaha. Thanks for commenting mate really appreciate it!
Great stuff Pete 👍👍🇦🇺
Thanks dan for the support mate.
Good honest review thankyou.
No worries at all thanks so much
Great review. Even if it was a year ago. Just wondered is the slide out table on Teflon slides also, to make it easy to slide out?
gday chris, the table is not on teflon but rather slides on carpet. Keeps its clean and protected and slides perfectly!
@@WACampingAdventures thanks. Makes sense!
Awesome review mate
Thanks matt appreciate the kind words mate!
Interested in the configuration you would have gone, for if you had your time over ;)
As they have the teflon strips, I'm guessing there is a stopper at the top to stop the drawers from falling out? Is there much room losed at the back of the drawer?
Thanks for the kind words colleen! There is definitely a stopper/latch at the back to stop it sliding out. Maximum about 20-25mm thick so no loss of space at all! Appreciate you commenting!
Nice video bud, do you know what they are made of?
You didn't mention dust.
Does dust get into them mate?
What about price?
They aren't cheap from what I've heard, but hey you get what you pay for don't you.
Thanks for the great review.
I'm looking at a full kit out for my next touring rig.
Gday michael, with the dust, id say they only get dust on the outside as my landcruiser is not the most air tight rig haha. have never noticed dust on the inside unless i have caused it! i think i paid around 1700 freighted to me from NSW to Perth
@@WACampingAdventures that's not too bad a price really. Good dust doesn't get in.
So did you install it yourself and was it difficult.
Cheers
Mick
Mick mate the install could not of been easier even for me being a brickie! Half of my brain is gone already so im sure it will be a walk in the park for you!
good review don't like the idea of having to spray the drawer teflon slides they will get dust/sand stuck to them I'm probably going to get the MSA drawers with s/s rollers
Thanks jock and fair point mate. MSA have a good rep too mate so cant go wrong.
Silicone spray doesn't hold dust just so you know, that's why you use it for this application.
@@1989cranston dust will stick to anything that's wet & when buying drawers U should not need to spray them with anything
@@jockwar i take it you haven't used silicone spray. it isn't wet after about 0.3seconds after spraying it. so i say again. it is why you use it for this application. it is also why it is used on printed circuit boards in electronics. doesn't hold dust and isn't wet.
Hey nice review, just wandering what the draws and base are made out of? Thinking of buying some drifta draws myself
Gday toby! Thanks for asking and commenting mate! As far as i know its the same treated marine ply as the rest of the unit. Great choice toby you wont regret it.
9:25 yep, im building my fridge sitting trunk level w/ 2 drawers on top of each other.;
How heavy are they compared to other brand drawers? Weight is a big factor when setting up your 4wd.
@@WACampingAdventures Honeycomb fiberglass panels would be lighter ;)
darrendesilvavideo oh absolutely darren you nailed it.
Hi Pete.
Nice video Bro
Gday malte thanks for that brother! Hope your well mate
Hey mate, whats stopping those drawers from sliding all the way out when you open them? Is there like a cord attached to the back or something? Cheers
gday erki! Mate there is a latch at the back that stops it from coming out, but can be unlatched to allow the drawer to be removed!
Get yourself a folding stool to stand on. That or one of Drifta's tucker boxes.
Good call bruce! That way i can justify my spendings to the wife! Hahaha
@@WACampingAdventures I always carried something for the wife to stand on so she could get in my lifted 4x4 with big tires. Happy wife, happy life.
Bloody wise words bruce. Thats what its all about mate haha
I cut the top panel on my setup and put my fridge in the drawer. Instant slide.
Gary Ungar hahaha gary that is a smart idea mate! Work well?
@@WACampingAdventures
Worked great. Then I boxed around it and used the cutout piece for the top to protect the fridge from gear thrown in around it.
Gday, what supports the draws when they slide out, and how much of the back of the draw is left in side the carcass of the set up and possibly in reachable ?
Gday neil, as far as i know mate the drawers are quite tight inside the opening so when they are fully pulled out they rest lightly on the backend of the drawer(if that makes sense)
As far as how much is sticking inside carcass, i reckon 150mm approximately and is 100% reachable.
Hi Pete. Did you order your drawers? If so how were they freighted and packed? I'm thinking of ordering as I'm in Perth, with approx 25 week wait!!
What stops the drawers coming out the whole way without having runners? And stops then for tilting down when extended?
@@markl4528 gday mark! Mate there is a latch at the back of the drawers that you can clip up or down depending on whether you want to stop the drawers coming out completely or whether you want to take them out too!
Does anything stop them for slightly tilting down? When theyre fully extended?
And do they extend out the whole way? Surely they cant then?
Couple years on... how's it holding up
Still bloody magic jarrod cheers for asking mate, i have taken the bold move to cut it in half myself and change to a stacker set haha check our “quarantine projects” video and i run through it! Hahaha
@@WACampingAdventures nice mate good to hear
Are the teflon strips seeded into the drawers (routed groove) looks like it or are my old eyes letting me down
No way mate your eyes are bloody sharp!
Why don't you just move the drawer now? Shouldn't be too hard I reckon
Do you reckon? Im a brickie so keep that in mind, only half a brain hahaha. I feel like a may stuff it up lol
@@WACampingAdventures well it's 2 halves. you said you fitted them. Rip the top board off, they'll probably bolt together in two halves. Stack left on right then cut the top board with a circular saw for top and side panels. Couple tekkies, she be right
Heady Rip yeh good call it may be worth having a look! Just the centre divider only looks like one piece of marine ply?
@@WACampingAdventures Mate after a couple of beers anythings possible. Get it sorted. Custom work makes good content! ;)
Hahaha truer words have not been spoken! Next video will be me with just one drawer hahaha
I don't believe you would leave a 1/2 pack of twisties in your draws. I recond you'd smash the whole packet down in one hit...lol...Cheese or chicken twisties, what's your flavor...cheers...👍🍻...
😂😂😂damn it i know someone would call me on that and you nailed it! Chicken everyday for me! I was also waiting for the word “rad” mate hahaha
