    Short turns Ski Technique?
Heidi Voelker joins me for a day of skiing and talking technique.
Heidi raced on the World Cup from 1988 - 1995
She made the US ski team through her slalom skiing. 33 years later she still has a dynamic form with a refined style. Her ability to ski top to bottom with sharp precise turns speaks to her incredible balance.
We wide the chairlift and discuss her skiing in an effort to share our knowledge with the general public.
In ski racing and ski teaching there are many descriptions and terms out there. Coaches and Students create a dialect of their verbiage very quickly. I feel that the best way to share skiing ideas is to present in a way that is clear to me and provide enough data, the raw conversations on hill as a well post skiing breakdown, for the general population to follow along in my verbiage.
High end skiing can be taught to anyone, the mechanism for delivery simply needs to be found.
I do not have a single explanation for skiing, I constantly find new angles to view it through in a never ending pursuit for perfection.
Give this video a watch and see if it will improve your skiing!
Do you want to master the high end turns?
This is the video from you

Joe you are the BEST SKI INSTRUCTOR on the planet. Thank you so much.
I have watched hundreds of videos and had lessons from ski instructors and learn nothing; until I watched your video. You make the complicated simple, which is genius.

fantastic! i find that style of short radius such a sustainable way of skiing, works when it is crowded, roughed up and steep. what ski is she on? (asking for my daughter)

Hi Joe, please could you explain what you mean by the "toe piece". is that the ball of the big toe? Or the big toe? Or the front of the boot? Or some other location? Thanks Mike

In this video, “toe piece” is referring to the area of the ski under the binding.

Would her tails slide on a steeper slope at the end of the turn?

    • @skidadTV
      @skidadTV  2 месяца назад

No, all slide is done during initiation

@@skidadTV Thanks for the info. Watching the video, I was really puzzled about what ski area this could be, right along a freeway. Answer is that Woodward was built since the last time we skied Park City. Looks pretty cool. //Marshall
