Wow, your technical skill with the thread is amazing! I've never heard the term "filet" before. Good to know. 🙂The highland cow is precious.💕Thanks for your thoughts on the doll and hippo patterns. I like hearing other crocheter's opinions on patterns. It's helpful!
Hi Robyn! I'm glad I could show you something new, that's fun to know! Filet crochet is super easy, just chains and DC! That's only my second time trying it out, but I think I'm kinda in love 😂 I'm glad you enjoy my ramblings, I enjoy talking about patterns so much! Hope you have a wonderful week 🤗
Hey Julie ! You can really be proud of yourself with all your projects and what you have accomplished !. 😊 Your Filet crochet piece is looking fantastic..
Wow, the lady is awesome!! You are so good at that. I can't wait to see the elephant. I don't think I could work with thread. Then you made the KSCROCHET!!! STUNNUNG!
Thank you so much Lynette! I always thought I couldn't either, but it's actually not too bad. I do prefer a size 3 more than the 10 lol I'm excited to try the elephant, I need that in my life lol Have a great week 🤗
Hi Julie, wow you did a great job with the pineapple doily's the lady is beautiful , your filet crochet sign is so nice, Douglas, Peggy and Zoe are all adorable, look forward to the look book videos, have a lovely week ❤
Love your thread crochet items. I just got done making 1 inch roses with #10 thread and a #7 steel hook for granddaughter's wedding bouquet. Not as difficult as I thought, but not ready to make a bedspread out of that thread. I think you are right to change up patterns to suit your needs. No need to apologize....it's your project and they always turn out nice! The filet KS Mom is beautiful. You should be very proud of that!
Hi Arlyce! Thank you so much! I can't imagine using that size hook, but I'm going to keep practicing because I would love to eventually do it! Definitely couldn't ever make a bedspread 😂 I have seen pictures of people that have done that and oh wow! The time and dedication that must have taken! Hope you have a wonderful week 🥰🤗
Wow, Julie! Just…Wow! The threadwork is all amazing! You should be proud of it! Maybe a rectangular frame with a black background?? Cassandra’s eyes elevate the Edward’s Managerie big time! Love that cow! Peggy’s coming along great. You’re very welcome for the book! It’s fun to see your excitement! Have a great week!
Hi Kathleen! Thank you so much! I will have to measure it and see if they even make a frame that big. If I had used a smaller hook, I probably would have had an easier time finding one. I do love that book so much and I'm looking forward to making something out of it! 😁 🤗
Your makes are gorgeous! I love the filet crochet you made. I think it looks great there on your chair. I use glue sticks to stiffen skinny necks. Not the mini ones, but the next size up. Sometimes I use 2 or 3 if needed. You can poke them down into the body and through the neck and up into the head. Then stuff around them. I've found they work great for making the necks stronger. Keep up the great work!
I’ve never worked with thread before but seeing your creations is amazing. Your sign is gorgeous! I can’t believe you created so many beautiful thread projects in such a short time! One day maybe I’ll try. I guess stranger things have happened. lol
Hi Leah! I always thought I would never work with anything other than a worsted weight 😂 I really enjoy the dainty-ness of thread projects. It's something that looks hard, but is actually so.simple to do 🤗
Hi Julie 🤗 your pineapple 🍍 doilies are so pretty! Wow! Love your KSMom Crochets fillet banner! Your hippo 🦛 is coming along nicely! Little Zoe is adorable! I always have an issue with floppy necks too! 😳 I’m just going have to invest in some pipe cleaners as well! Kathleen was very kind to gift you the birds book! Beautiful yarn, great price! I really enjoy your look inside book series! I really enjoyed hanging out with you! Have a beautiful week! 🥰🧶🤩
Hi Litsa! Thank you so much, I am just so happy with how my projects turned out this week! It was nice to do so many projects that brought me joy! I hope you have a wonderful week as well 🤗
Never too many tooterphants. Keep them coming. Haha. I love seeing all the different yarns you use to make them. You also got me inspired to try making myself a filet crochet thing for my channel name. Thank you so much for the inspiration.
I have made so many Ami's over the years, it is easy to know what I like lol I am enjoying making her, I think she will turn out cute when she is done 🥰
Thank you so much! I am enjoying working with the thread a lot, but I definitely like my yarn too! Thank you for telling me about your Momma as well❤️🤗
Happy to have been able to see the cute things you were able to make! I'm also trying to no longer buy worsted weight yarn. When I started I thought that I would never use anything else. But as I've gained more experience I do find that I prefer to work with thinner yarn. I've even grown to love fingering weight yarn. I'm trying to just make as many amigurumis as possible with what I currently have. My goal is to use it all up and then stick to DK/Sport weight/Fingering weight. I often find myself inspired to work on some of the same projects as you after watching your podcasts. I'm on my way to make that little donkey right now!
Thank you so much! I totally get it, I felt the same way. I didn't think I would ever use anything smaller than a 4 and when I first started I didn't even know there were so many different weights available lol it's funny how our crochet evolves and changes over time! I'm so glad I'm able to inspire you with my videos, that makes me so happy! 🤗🥰
Great jam packed show. So many good projects. You should frame your KSMOM CROCHETS with a black background and put it on your wall to see when filming. It came out so good. Love the doll. I liked the eye placement. Can the hair be raised a smidgen? I know what you mean about 6 stitch limbs. I always make them bigger. Very nice of Kathleen to gift you that book. I have been thinking about making a bird. No birds in my menagerie of amigrumi yet. I have made one doll by doing the head backwards. I hate sewing on heads. I just loved all your projects. Also, big fan of your Look Inside videos. ❤
Hi Deborah, thank you so much! I would love to frame that, but I'm not sure if I can find a frame it would fit it. It's pretty big, but I'm going to measure it and see if there's something. It definitely needs a black background for sure! I'm going to try to get her hair to move up a little, I kinda want that embroidered hair on her head lol I hate sewing heads on too, that's my least favorite part to sew. I always have such a hard time getting the neck to look right lol 🤗🥰
Hi Julie, I will never get tired of you making tooterphants. I like the look of that new yarn you got. I am thinking of ordering some yarn from wool warehouse they have a lot of fun looking dk yarns that all scream out to be tooterphants. The filet sign you made is amazing, you really are clever. You could always frame it on a dark background and hang it behind you. Take care xxx
Hi Michelle! I'm definitely going to end up making one, I just have to know what one looks like worked up in that yarn lol Sally told me that Elvis yarn is on sale, I'm having a hard time resisting lol They have so many gorgeous yarns on there! I'm definitely going to look and see if I can find a frame that size. It's kinda big, so 🤞🏻! Have a great week 🤗
@@ksmomcrochets I saw the elvis on special and had it in my cart with some others, but just can't bring myself to buy it as I really don't need it. I really don't need any yarn as I have more than enough but I really really want it. I am off work at the moment with the C virus very mildly but am very tempted to online shop as I can't do much else. Can't wait to see your next tooterphant. I think I need to make another one too. Have a great week.
@michellesmakery6829 I'm so sorry to hear you're sick, I sure hope you get to feeling better soon! I totally get it, I did the same thing. I filled my cart up, but I'm not sure if I am going to hit submit lol
That’s so funny, I was thinking to myself when you were showing that new yarn that they would make perfect tooterphants. Everything looks so cute, and your doilies look so pretty
I think so too, I know I'll end up making one because I just have to know how it will turn out. Anytime I see variegated yarn, it's my first thought 😂 Have a wonderful week! 🤗
I love love love that cow. This weekend I decided I’m going to get a bunch of yarn in the colours used in the animals and I’m going to crochet a bunch of legs and bodies to keep for when I want to make an animal. The doll is coming along so nicely. She’s adorable.
Hi Julie, please continue yours books look, I love it! And I loved eing your mini haul, what a good deal! Speakle yarn ( or variagated with really small chnages are the only one I love...anyway, living in Canada, those deals are not good for me when you add the shipping....oh well, I have enought yarn anyway!😉) Please continue your excellent videos!
Hi Chantale! I have every intention of doing all of my books like that. It's just such an easy video to make and I am really enjoying it! I definitely agree sparkle and variegated yarns are so much fun! It's hard to pass up especially on sale! I know what you mean about shipping, if I can't get good shipping I won't order. Thanks for being here and I hope you have a wonderful week 🥰🤗
Hi Julie!! Oh my goodness! I love your thread makes!! They all came out so beautiful. I love working with thread at times now, but, it cramps my hands up so I have to stop often. There is no way I could use a #10. That’s so tiny😵💫 I would love to see you crochet Barbie clothes in thread. My Aunt Theresa loved making Barbie dresses out of thread.. she had so many of those big dress patterns from Annies Attic. I wish I had an her patterns. I miss seeing her crochet. I’m actually working with a thin thread making a type of granny square. Not sure what I’m going to do with them yet but I’ll figure something out. 🤣 I enjoy your videos so much!! Your doll is coming out adorable!! I love her already! Yess!! Another Tooterphant!! I love them all so much! Keep making them❤ and use that new yarn in the green❤❤ Hugs, Cecilia U
Hi Cecilia, thank you so much! I just am beyond thrilled with that project! I don't think I can manage a smaller hook for a while. I'm going to keep practicing because I know gauge is more important when it comes to making those dresses. I was given some of the patterns you're talking about and oh my goodness! I just look at them all the time! One day, I'm going to do that! I am sure your aunt's were so pretty! You read my mind, that green yarn is the one I want to use lol I know I'm going to have to make one out of it, the call of the Tooterphant is too strong 😂 I hope you have a wonderful week 🤗❤️❤️
Julie, lol…My hands hate me all the time…They get numb and tingling and hurt, but, I continue on😂😅 You could make those Barbie dresses!! Just rest those hands up often when making them dresses. Sit it down and work on something else for awhile then go back to it again later on. I’m thrilled you were able to use that Size 10 thread!😮 I have some here but I look at it and tell myself…. Ummm NOPE! I can barely see it even this my glasses on! Maybe I need spectacles or even a microscope to see that 10 thread😂😂 Girrlll yes! Tooterphant is calling once again! One of my favorite colors is Greens and Teals. I can’t wait to see him made up! I need to look for that book so I can at least have me a tooterphant too 😢❤ can’t wait to see him!!
@TwistednStitches That's my big problem too, seeing the smaller stitches and wearing glasses for a long time makes my eyes ache. It makes me scared to even try, but I will definitely get the courage up one day 😂 I got my copy off of eBay, but I've seen it in Michaels before. The PDF is on Etsy as well 🤗
I too need those pamphlets. I have 12 books now. The dog book, I only have the updated one. I think it has all the original plus 15. I loved the French hen.
Hi Julie, the doily is stunning - especially with the sharp white background I really like it. It was also so lovely to see some thread work and I think you are very talented 😊 The pineapple lady is beautiful 😍 I was really looking forward to the review of Peggy the hippo as I recently finished her myself. It was so interesting listening to some of the things you mentioned. I really tried to make the circles on her top, but I got so frustrated (mine looked nothing like the pics) so I also made her a top in one colour. Oh I also changed the stitches in the trousers as I just couldn’t cope with the slst’s and hdslst’s for over 60 rows! So I just did sc’s in the BLOs which worked out fine ☺️
Thank you so much, I appreciate your sweet comments! I just love how they turned out so much. I debated trying to do those circles and I was like nope, not today! 😂 I hadn't even looked at the pattern for the pants, oh my goodness! I'll definitely be changing that to the sc's for sure! 😂
I love the Fillet crochet with your name! If you could frame it, it would look very nice on your wall. I love the pineapple doily's! The cow is so cute! That puzzle yarn is so pretty!
Oh that's awesome Julie Your thread projects are so stunning💕💕 I don't know much about framing your projects but I would definitely give a search on framing your name piece. I really like how you made a prop to show us all your beautiful project. Now you need one in a dark color...lol I agree with you on pica Pau designs, we are spoiled with these bottom up patterns that now we don't want to fuss with that design😆🤣🤣 style. look forward to seeing the look thru because I already own the circus one. 😂
Hi Caroline! I am hoping that I can find a frame to fit it, I'm going to measure it and see what is available. I definitely am going to have to invest in a black foam board 😂 I had forgotten that her patterns were made like that until you mentioned it last time. I definitely agree that we are spoiled by other designers 😂 I was thinking about that when I picked that one, I remembered you were the one that actually enabled me that time 😂 I hope you have a wonderful week 🤗🥰
Hi Julie, all I can say is Wow!! your doilies are gorgeous! I wish I could do that but with thread I know I wouldn't be able to. Your cow turned out so cute! I finally put the embroidered eyes on a project and it turned out great. Your hippo is coming along fine. I like where you placed the eyes on your doll. Like you said on her doll the eyes seem to low. Looking forward to the book looks.
Hi Julie Ann! Thank you so very much! I always thought I couldn't do it either. If someone had told me 3 years ago, I would work with thread I never would have believed them 😂 it's funny how our crochet evolves over time! 🥰
When you were showing the Big Twist Party yarn (before you said it) I was thinking that a Tooterphant was going to be in your future! I'm not tired of them; they are so cute. Wow, you really are quite the expert with crochet thread. Your pineapple lady is beautiful, and the KSMom Crochet filet is wonderful. I'm glad you enjoy making them. Your passion shows through when you are presenting them to us. And I am happy that you change the patterns for amigurumi to make them more efficient and fun. That's our prerogative once we have some experience with crochet. Looking forward to your next book review! I love them. Not sure if you have Wonderful World of Amigurumi by Khuc Cay, but when or if you do I'd like to know your thoughts about it. I love her patterns so much. I am making something from it now and giving myself a good challenge...changing colors. I have kept from doing color changes, but here I am now. And my brain is saying,"What!?!!" Having fun though.
Hi Janda! Oh I'm totally going to have to make at least one out of that yarn, the pull is just too strong 😂 I just am addicted to that pattern, I so want a whole shelf of just all Tooterphants! I haven't gotten that book yet, but it's on the list! I have her other two and they were so much fun to work out of, so I'm sure I'll love that one as well! I bet your project will turn out awesome! Sometimes color changing is worth the time and effort for sure! I'm just lazy when it comes to crochet so I don't do it often 😂 Hope you have a lovely week! 🤗🥰
I love pineapple crochet ! It's my favorite doilies I've made. I made it years ago and it has a little stain on it I want to get washed out, but I'll try and remember to show it next time I'm able to get a video done. I also crocheted a beautiful pattern from Expression FiberArts. It's a pineapple shawl, and I love it. I was just thinking about crocheting another one, it's so fun to make I made several acouple of years ago. Everything you make is always beautiful. Can't wait to see the hippo finished ! See you next time Julie !! I was wondering if you ever made Mr tooterphants with #4 yarn ? I couldn't remember. I would like to see him made in #4 !
Hi Dianne, thank you so much! I just love how the pineapple stitch looks, it looks so much harder than it is so I stayed away from it for a long time lol I actually have made a Tooterphant out of 4 weight. It was before RUclips, but I have shown it on my channel when I first started. It should be in a thumbnail. I think I'll end up trying one of those skeins to make one because I just am dying to see one in one of those color ways 😂
Really enjoyed your video and all your makes. Way to go on your thread crochet makes. I do thread crochet also and you've inspired me to start a thread project again. I think I will buy that book you showed and put the doily in a hoop like you did. for your ks crochet filet put it in a frame and hang it. I made last name ones and did that and looks great. Just a suggestion.
Hi Brenda, thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video and that I could inspire you! I would love to frame it, but I'm not sure if I can find one in the size I need. I'm going to try though! I want to make some names too, I think that will be fun! 🤗
Hi Julie! Love all your makes❤ The filet crochet is so cool! I have tried and tried to make that pineapple lady and the peacock from that book but i just cant figure them out lol , i'm left handed and i cant convert the pattern in my brain for some reason. Yours turned out beautiful!
Hi Ronnee! I just love how she turned out! I wonder if you could take a picture of it and flip it. That might make it easier to see where to place your stitches. There's not one pattern in there I don't want to make, they're all so pretty and I'm still so thankful for the book! 🤗🥰
Hi Linda! If you're talking about the pixilart app, I don't make an account. I just click draw when the app first opens. Click the plus button at the bottom of the screen. You can change the numbers of the "blocks" to be the width and height you need. Click create and then you just tap the squares to fill them in to make whatever you're wanting to make. I hope that helps! 🤗

I would love to see you crochet Barbie clothes in thread.
I enjoy your videos so much!!
Your doll is coming out adorable!! I love her already!
Yess!! Another Tooterphant!! I love them all so much! Keep making them❤ and use that new yarn in the green❤❤
Hugs,
Cecilia U
Julie, lol…My hands hate me all the time…They get numb and tingling and hurt, but, I continue on😂😅
You could make those Barbie dresses!!
Maybe I need spectacles or even a microscope to see that 10 thread😂😂
Girrlll yes!
I got my dinosaur one from Wool Warehouse, I wish I had got all of them. I'm hoping I can get them eventually just to have!
Hey Julie. I love your personalized filet project. Maybe try to attach some dark felt ( like black) to help bring that filet pattern come out.
Hi April, thank you for that suggestion! I definitely am going to try that, I love how the letters show up better that way! 🤗🥰
I love the Fillet crochet with your name! If you could frame it, it would look very nice on your wall. I love the pineapple doily's! The cow is so cute! That puzzle yarn is so pretty!
Thank you Lori! I am going to try to see if I can find a frame big enough, I would love to do that! I'm looking forward to trying out that yarn 🤗
I love crocheting with thread
That's awesome Paula! I'm really enjoying it too 🤗
Oh that's awesome Julie Your thread projects are so stunning💕💕 I don't know much about framing your projects but I would definitely give a search on framing your name piece. I really like how you made a prop to show us all your beautiful project. Now you need one in a dark color...lol
I agree with you on pica Pau designs, we are spoiled with these bottom up patterns that now we don't want to fuss with that design😆🤣🤣 style.
look forward to seeing the look thru because I already own the circus one.
I really enjoy seeing all your work!
Thank you Michele! 🥰
Hey Julie! Wow, beautiful work! 🥰
Thank you Marsha! 🤗
Kudos to YOU! I tried working with thread once and it felt like brain torture! 😜
😂 I never thought I would enjoy it, but I find it to be so fun! I prefer working with the thicker thread though lol
@@ksmomcrochets Julie, that's the truth for sure.
Love all the thread work. ❤ thanks for reviewing the doll book. I have been thinking about getting it since it seems beginner friendly.
Thank you so much! The doll book is very easy to follow, I definitely recommend giving it a go! 🤗
Hello Julie!
Hi Lynette!
Your crochet is beautiful put it in a frame on black felt❤️❤️
I love the idea of using black felt, thank you so much for that suggestion! I am going to see if I can find a frame to fit it 🤞🏻 Have a great week 🤗
Hi Julie, I love all your project, could you write down the name of the yarn you used for the HighLand Cow? I love those colors.
Thank you Claudia! Sure, the yarn is on Mary Maxim called Bon Bon Ince. It's a value acrylic, but I'm loving it! 🤗
I downloaded the app and I don’t know how to use it. 😢
It also still saves your chart even without an account. Also to print I just take a screenshot shot and print that way ❤️
@@ksmomcrochets it does! Thank you for explaining!
