- Former deputy prime minister Barnaby Joyce says Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is in “political trouble”.
The federal government could be exploring its options ahead of possible changes to negative gearing and capital gains tax.
“This is chaos,” Mr Joyce told Sky News host Andrew Bolt.
“Mr Albanese is in a lot of political trouble and Mr Chalmers knows that.”

I’ve been in the building industry for over 30 years and never seen anything like this 💩 110 % clueless Government we need a change of Government Today
Within my family have been involved in building and housing for 60 years... bloody disgrace what this government is NOT doing.
Change superannuation rules so that parents can use some of their super to help buy investment properties that their children can live in. My kids struggle to get a rental. Id prefer to buy a unit and rent it to them. If i could use some of my super to build a house to rent them, I would. That puts someone in a house and takes one more person out of the rental market. Their are a lot of parents who would do the same but we can't because of the stupid rules.
Have said that for years. Michael Sukkar minister for housing in LNP is the man who knows more about housing situations in his little finger than the entire Labor government. Discuss this with him

What fascinates me is how difficult it is to become a builder and apply for a builder’s license. With the shortage of housing you would think that the government would be fast tracking building licenses, but NO, it is extremely difficult for a tradies to get their licenses, extremely expensive and takes forever for these government departments to process and issue licenses.
Labor only wants to make it harder and more expensive to run a business and work in this country, they want to cripple our economy while aiding and abetting China's economy.

Negative gearing was brought in to provide a pool of private rentals to replace public housing.... In reality it just means that investors out compete first homebuyers.... It has to be restricted to new builds.....

Negative gearing and CGT discount must go. Many countries increase taxes on second and subsequent properties to give first home buyers an advantage. We're the only country that does the opposite. It's completely un-Australian. Let everyone buy their own home. Don't split us up into landlords and tenants.
