I drive this road a lot. Still say that on that corner.😊
Which road is this on? I'd like to ride it this summer for nostalgia's sake.
@@gregmatty6393 this is where 230th ave e turns into the Buckley Tapps Hwy. on the east side of Lake Tapps. Turn off of 214th onto 40th and follow it. Do it when it's clear so you can see the mountain.
@@gregmatty6393auburn/enumclaw highway heading east to Enumclaw. I grew up there
I do the same :D
Tragically, a few years ago the family that owned the property on the right sold (my dad knew them in his youth). It's now all houses :'( the stunning view is gone
I hope they bring this back as a Super Bowl commercial one day
Love the sound of the vintage KZ900
We called it Vitamin R
I've ridden my motorcycles on this road many a time! I know this road well! Great to ride that way during an early summer evening :).
I remember this commercial in 1978 when i was stationed @ Ft Lewis Wash.
One of my all time favorite commercials. Thanks for hosting this!
Pure advertising genius.
I wonder if Budweiser "stole" the idea of the frogs from this Rainer spot...ribbit.
I always heard older kids reference this commercial, but I never got to see it until now. When I heard the frogs croaking "Rainier" I immediately thought of the Budweiser frogs.
ALWAYS loved this ad when I lived in Seattle in 1981!
Rated R 😅
The people In Buckley call it Rainier Beer Road.
They would lol
I worked with Terry and David Culp on one of the last Wild Rainier spots in the early 90's. Terry was a great guy and Culp was a genius director.
Cool!!!!!!! #NW Sst Night Live >
One of my 'rents visited Seattle in '79 and brought back to the Midwest a Sonics (RIP in peace) championship tee that I had requested and told me about this ad, which of course never aired in my patch; Y'allTube to the rescue three decades later
Classic commercial. I remember seeing this commercial growing up in the 80's.
This was part of the Best commercial ever made. It was only shown 3x and the FCC pulled it. Just as the m/c was rounding the corner it was hit head on by a Hamms Beer truck driven by the Hamms Bear. It simply said "Hamms"...lmao
Weird -- I was listening to the David Paulides interview on Coast to Coast AM (Feb. 29, 2024), when he was discussing mysterious disappearances at and around Mount Rainier. An old, unbidden memory surfaced of this beer commercial featuring Mount Rainier -- I'd seen it in 1979 during a commercial break for "Saturday Night Live." Decided to look it up, and here it is: top search result!
Nothing disappears forever.
I lived in Port Angeles, WA in the late 70's and drank a lot of Rainier Beer and remember this commercial. The other great Rainier commercials were: Mickey Rooney in search of the Wild Rainiers, The running of the Rainiers. Great times!
1980s will never be beat
This was actually from the late 1970s.
These are great! This one I remember like the back of hand lol
I was in Bremerton from March of 1978 to February 1979 and saw this commercial on TV during that time.
Ahh yes I was born in bremerton 2 decades later. Good ol times 😂
This is the best add in the world
This is in really nice quality
What a nostalgia trip! That commercial came out while I was working in the Flight Controls Laboratories at Boeing. Must have been 1978 or 1979.
Rode a number of my motorcycles many times on that stretch of road. Yes, kind of between Lake Tapes and a back road route towards Enumclaw.
Awesome
Ha! The Ranier frogs say "Ranier" before the Budweiser frogs ever said Bud-Wei-Ser!
We called the Ale Green Death but the beer tasted much better than the ale.
The ale was great. I first encountered it in a Safeway store in Kennewick, WA in about 1981-82. The first one didn't go down too well but I eventually developed a taste for it. I'm talking about the original ale, not the latter day stuff sold in the 1990s and later in 40s and jacked up to 8 percent.
Now full of soulless track homes. And Jesus people buy them. Progress :(
I had the same motorcycle, same color too.
"Bud..Wie..Ser"🐸
This was filmed just southeast of Lake Tapps- White River Canyon on the left.
no it wasn't actually
Isn't that Mount Rainier in the background?
@@renafox4481 Yes it is.
@@mophydo It is
I grew up not far from the road and my dad knew the people whose property is on the right
It's famous around Lake Tapps :)
@Tim. I saw it in Alaska late 80s
ICE COLD RAINIER BEER IN THE BOTTLE AND IT'S A BEAUTIFUL SUMMER DAY IN SEATTLE/TACOMA WASHINGTON \,,/...
Did the movie ever come out?
But what was the parody ad where the motorcycle gets hit by a beer truck and the guy is running behind it? I swear it was a Hamm's commercial but others have said Oly or Bud. The Internet has been scrubbed of it.
My dad told me about this commercial in 2023 so I’m here to check it out.
Ummet could do better
