- United States Army Basic Training (also known as Initial Entry Training, IET) is the recruit training program of physical and mental preparation for service in the United States Army, United States Army Reserve or Army National Guard. Basic training typically takes place over 10 weeks. Upon completion of the program, the recruits will earn the title “Soldier.” The title of Soldier is earned, never given.

I'm from Russia. I am against disagreements between our countries. I just wanted to express my respect for the training of US Army soldiers. Well done!
ruclips.net/video/yAduP86n2x8/видео.html
Respect.
我不知道俄罗斯是咋新兵训练的,这在中国是日常新兵训练计划,尊重,我们都是这样过来的
Respect to you Sir, we hope our world united and be great again. not just 1 country but all countries
You'd be surprised how well our countries would get along without the lunatics that run our countries making stupid decisions.
I am 55 years old now. I still remember Basic Training. It was funny in away. The guys that should have made it, sometimes didn't. The guy you thought would have failed, usually had more heart than expected and did better. Don't judge a book by it's cover.
I'm 14, and I'm thinking about becoming either a soldier or a marine. I want to become a filmmaker when I'm done there (if I go). The only problem is that I'm sensitive. But I feel like the drill sergeants yelling at me wouldn't bother me too much because I know they're only trying to make me a better soldier. What do you think I should do?
You are 14 . you have 4 years to think about it first of all . Talk to other veterans. Go to an American Legion Post near you, and really talk to those people. Without meeting you , it would be unfair of me to give personal advice.
First you are 14 years old . You may feel differently in 4 years . I would suggest also talking with members of the of different service organizations. American Legion would be a good start.
Since that reply I realized I'm not as sensitive as I thought. I was when I was 10, though. I literally wouldn't hurt a fly. Not anymore, though. Also, since that reply, I watched videos on the Navy, and I think that would be a better choice for me. I'm thinking Mass Communications (MC) since I want to be a filmmaker.
Find something that will give you college credit and can be used in the civilian world. You will still have to deal with basic training. But it is mostly a mental game. Just remember even when the drill instructors are screaming at you . They actually want to see you succeed.
Even if people say that these recruits are skinny, weak, flabby or slow, so long a recruit has the spirt of determination, perseverance and discipline, they will be made to the fine soldiers in service of this great nation. Furthermore for those still criticising, the fact that these men gave so much up for an ideal, you do not matter and should hold up and introspect.
In the marine corps they'd be dropped or kicked out lol
John Wood In the USMC they would have to pass a strength test before hand composed of 3 pull-ups 55 sit-ups both within 2 minutes of being started with a 3 minute break. Followed by a 1.5 mile of at least 15 minutes. Don’t down play a soldier or trainee trying to prove his steel due to your insecurities the Army and Corps are well respected branches and the best fighting forces this planet will ever see.
Spencer Jenkins no way lol, it depends on the drill instructors but my platoon easily had more then 10 drops because of failing to pass an IST.
3 pullups? Yeah right, they wouldnt let you do that. 55 situps? More like 115, and that's barely anything. And a 1.5 mile run within 15? More like 9 lol.
Fun fact tho there were no breaks nor are there any kind of breaks in bootcamp for the marine corps
Those descriptions are most likely what the haters are. A movable potato.
You're both wrong. The IST in the Corps is 1.5 miles in 13:30.
I attended Boot Camp at Ft. Sill 1978. I still remember clearly how tough it was, but the friendship and camaraderie is forever. GO ARMY!
ruclips.net/video/yAduP86n2x8/видео.html
I also did my basic at Ft. Sill. Bravo battery 1/79th field artillery. 👏
Damn and I thought I was old. Haaha
I was at Ft. Sill for Basic in 2023
D-4, 1st Plt - Ft. Sill in the 80's. November Mud. Fun stuff.
Exactly 28 years ago THIS DAY (8/9) was my last full day at Ft. Benning for Basic and AIT (11B).
At 47 years old I will say that it was one of the most positive experiences of my life.
Buckley...sounds familiar(not as one of my friends, like i came across in a book or documentary ^ ^...Active or veteran sir??
God bless you, brother. My uncle also trained at Ft. Benning, even though from Buffalo, New York! Thank you for your service to our blessed country.
Thank you for your service

I can't believe it's come to this.
The basics of Boot Camp:
1. Reception - Get all your gear
2. First 72 - 3 days of basically hell, this will be the hardest part.
2. Red Phase - You will be broken down as an individual, learn your rifle and exercise.
3. White Phase - Most at the range getting qualified.
4. Blue Phase - Hone in your skills and pass all final test.
well yea mostly only in reception you do a lot more than get your gear, it's where you fill out all the paperwork and pass initial med exams to enter the military.
@@kizunadragon9 Medical exams are done at M.E.P.S. to get into the military. Once you're done with M.E.P.S., you are in the military. Reception is gear and processing.
@@ArmyVeteran25U funny cause i remember doing basic dental and vision at reception, those are medial exams are they not?
@@kizunadragon9 You are correct! What the me off was when you said initial exams. I was thinking about the medical where the doc makes you stand the naked and do that exam.
@@ArmyVeteran25U ahhh, no worries
My son went through his basic at Fort Benning in 2016. He was a rifleman in a combat brigade, and attained "Expert" ranking on the rifle range. He was recently honorably discharged from the US Army after 2 overseas deployments, first to Eastern Europe and recently to the Middle East. He hated the Middle East, but he loved the Army. I'm very proud of him and I'm very proud of all our brave armed forces... thank you, to all of you everywhere, past and present...
I thank you and your son for his service god bless you and your family!

“The more you sweat during peace time, the less you bleed during war”- an army saying.
I enlisted on my 17th birthday back in 1968. Volunteered for helicopter school, then I volunteered to fly two tours in Vietnam with Air Cavalry units. I'm totally disabled from stuff that happened to me back then, but I wouldn't change a damn thing. If I could do it over again, I would do the same thing. I serve my Lord and savior, and my country. No regrets.
WOW
id rather live a fufilling life and become disabled then be sheltered and be perfectly fine! thank you for your service and hope you are well!
I remember this like it was yesterday. Definitely a rude awaking, lead to victory D-Co 1-46. Never quit! Always give your 100% and maintain a positive attitude.
Respect from Charlie 1-46 Cobra. It's definitely a change from when I went through. I mean they have females now wow.

РОССИСКАЯ ВОЙСКА ЛУЧШАЯ В МИРЕ, И САМАЯ СИЛЬНАЯ БОГ ВСЕГДА С НИМИ.
Right before I left 30th AG to go "down range" to training I'll never forget what our reception Sgt said "Some of you men will realize you aint as tough as you think you are and some of you men will realize you're tougher than you ever thought you could be"
Some days you will have the time of your life, some days you will wish
to be anywhere but there... long when it's over you will beg to have it
back.
Just remember the more you sweat in training the less you bleed in
combat, good luck.
My best advice for those about to go to basic, realize very very quickly that your platoon is your family for the next 10 weeks, don't fight, don't argue, come together as a team because they are the ones who have your back and you theirs. They will pick you up when you fall, they will motivate you when you're crying to go home.
This comment accurately describes BCT. Thank you for reminding the good ol days

Bang bang bang these nuts boi lmo😂😂😂😂
I am 52 years old now, and I also still remember this. I was actually there at Ft. Benning, Ga doing my basic training. Seeing this brought back so many memories of my time there, although you don't see the old World War style billets that were used back in the day. Now it's all new style dorm room style buildings. I was stationed at Harmony Church which is no longer there as it was demolished. Good times.
We went through basic and AIT at the same. Can you believe now there's female at fort Benning? What the hell is going on
@@bobk2899 Well it’s the new military now, I think these DI’s now would not have measured up to the DI’s we had back at Harmony Church
I went through USAF basic training at Lackland AFB in the summer of 1965 and we experienced nothing approaching this intensity. The AF basic was, even then, a "kinder gentler" type of training. Even though I was only 18 years old, and had 4 years of phys ed in H.S. I don't believe I could have endured anything like this. Kudos to anyone who did!
ruclips.net/video/yAduP86n2x8/видео.html
I'm never going into the military, but I really enjoy watching these because it gives me a sense of what my parents went through. Gives me a new, and more humbling, perspective.

Retired disabled veteran, Airborne / Infantryman 82d ABN DIV, miss the Army, well disciplined, ready for battle.
I'm Brazilian and I'm an admirer of the United States military. Lately my country has approached relations with America and we have signaled our interest in joining forces with America to conclude economic, political and military agreements. In our borders to the north we are facing an increasing threat of the dictatorial regime of mature in Venezuela and for that reason my country is rearming with the intention of defending of a possible aggression. We count on Americans, considered by us as brothers, to maintain stability, peace and democracy throughout the continent. and can count on us for this mission.

I'll never forget my drill sarget back in 1981. He was a Vietnam veteran with several purple hearts. He looked like the devil, no shit! He called us everything but humans. He insulted and harassed us constantly! By the end of training, you could daydream while he screamed and yelled at you, while beating your head with the brim of his campaign hate. He would PT us to near exhaustion. Train, train, train! When he did speak kindly to us, I soon learned that he was about to really hurt us! But, I Finished, feeling like a real badass! No regrets. 11B, follow me!

It was our honor. And you guys lived through it
Wow these men's are incredible, they do so much work and everything. Wish the best for each every one of these guys. May God always be with them and make them always be safe in every situation.
1:16
Imagine being in a platoon, tasked to take the base of a plateau that has multiple artillery guns firing on friendly positions. Your mission is to sieze the artillery guns and make the US soldiers retreat back into the valley. You are walking with your squad, hearing the artillery become louder and louder until it becomes the only thing you hear when the guns fire. Suddenly, you hear a branch snap, so you look to your right. You think it was a deer, but the Sergeant tells you and a fellow squadmate to go and check it out. You suddenly see something large, it's probably the deer, so you call out to your squadmate, but he doesn't respond. You feel a tight grab on your neck and within the span of two blinks, you have a knife to your throat. You hear the rest of the squad coming to see what's going on, as you and your fellow soldier stopped responding. After the foliage reveals your squad, you hear a US soldier yell to attack, and you see at least ninety soldiers get up from the ground in full ghillie suits charging at your unit and the rest of your platoon while running like literal dogs. It's like a bayonet charge. Your platoon immediately opens fire, but your thirty-five strong platoon can't compare to the company of US soldiers doggie running at you with M-16s'. You feel the hand on your throat release its grip after you heard a bullet whiz right past your head. You can now see behind you, but you wish you couldn't. There now has to be at least one small battalion doggie running towards your platoon
It's the end, you are surrounded. The doggie running US soldiers have taken your position, and the nearest battalion will take too long to relieve the siege on your position. What a disgraceful way to have it end.
Did this happen in real life?

America is super human.
I spent 2 weeks at 30th AG waiting to start. That by far was the worst part of it all.
Yep... I was only there for a week but it felt like months. One of my greatest fears was getting injured and getting stuck in 30th AG. Holy shit that place was hell.
Delta Co. 1-19. '02
What is the best way to prepare physically for Benning? I ship out in two months. I have been running two miles every other day.
@@infamous1454 Be prepared to bored. Also try to stay awake with little sleep. Like sleep 4 hours a night, and try to put your phone down to limit your entertainment.
@BELLASCARPE He wasnt asking about your experience. Btw you're very veryyyy tough to have to experience mama's boys crying keeping you up at night. Bravo you're the next Airborne Ranger with a Special Forces Tab!!
Lol I was there 3 days at 30th AG.
the boys are strong
Some key tips during basic training, some people can get bad rashes because of the socks they issue during reception, get ready to not shower for three days straight in the beginning, keep your locker clean and separate your sleeping pts from working out pts. If you used pts for one morning but they aren't that sweaty or dirty use it again because they only allow you to clean your clothes at the end of the week. Do not sleep with your work out pts you will dirty your sheets and could get a rash. Do not get injured or try not to over exert your body. If you get injured and can't maintain physical standard with your class, you will get pushed back into another class that may be two to three weeks behind. These are tips I didn't know about but you guys should highly value when you go.
P.S. keep a good watch on your laundry. People steal all the time especially pt clothes.
What kind of training, son? ARMY TRAINING SIR!

I salute all soldiers in the world
Why is this channel not uploading videos?
It's a different approach and obviously works there. Here in Australia what works is near deathly silence and since they banned physically punching someone and instructor will calmly and sternly call you out, put their clench fist out and you have to bang your head against it until they say stop. The silence is awful but teaches you to know when to speak on exercises and only talk when necessary. The bloke shouting will be the first to be shot.
I don't usually like America, but seeing how they raise their soldiers, I slowly begin to respect their military.
1981, Delta company, 5th Bat, 1st ITB Ft. Benning, go dogs!!

Leonard Wyrick get into ranger batt, get your tab then try out for SNOT and you’ll go to so many sniper schools you’ll be sick of it
It's worth setting that goal, but it's a tough road. I commend you for setting a high standard but be prepared for a lot of tough days ahead.
Go to some local gun ranges and practice with the weapons. There are usually former snipers that will help you out
Brian Powers your not wrong, but hes gonna need to hit up a gun friendly state too.
