    As I'm watching this video, I'm in the hospital for a few days and brought a little storage box of scissors, glue, colored pencils and scrap paper and a little plain notebook. Keeps my spirits up and from endless scrolling on my phone 😅

    I have lots of wonderful art supplies, but for many reasons it has been a while since I felt up to doing anything creative. This video was VERY inspiring, and out of all the mediums I enjoy I feel like paper is one of the easiest and most enjoyable. My brain is already starting to bubble with ideas. It is obvious you put a lot of time and effort into this video, and I really appreciate it! I'm thankful YT recommended this video to me, and I subscribed!

    Tray Table! Gosh, when I moved to my teeny tiny space (losing my craft room) I despaired at having no room to work in. So I got myself a tray table, and its the best thing I have to get me motivated to create something. Before getting it I was working on the floor which isn't at all ideal, so....yeah thanks for sharing your tips and tricks!

    Oh my gosh Margarete, thank you so much for the "Forward" download! That is exactly what I need for my art journals, because those sentiments are truly what I need to tell myself all of the time to get "unstuck"! As far as finding time to collage, when I had kids in elementary and middle school, I used to have to drive them myself and wait in a line-up of cars for about 20 minutes every day to pick them up. I found an inexpensive vintage train case on Etsy (but you could use a tupperware storage bin, and old tool box, whatever easily fits in the car seat) and started adding papers to it as I found them. Anything that caught my eye. Eventually I had a nice selection and just added a little journal (I used the smallest Moleskine with some signatures removed), a gluestick, and an old thick magazine to use as a "worktable" to glue on, and I had a blast creating one page a day. All of the suggestions in your video are so great and so inspiring. Thanks for this wonderful series!

      Wonderful!! I'm so glad, Jean, that the message in "Forward" speaks to you. Even doing collage for years, I still need to remind myself of this all the time. And GREAT idea about bringing stuff in the car for pick up! This is me all the time 😉. What's a train case, though? I'm going to search on Etsy and see what comes up. 💙👍🏼💜

    • @JeanFB16
      @JeanFB16 Год назад

      @@MargareteMiller Yes Etsy is a great place to discover what a vintage train case is like. Unfortunately, they have been "discovered" in recent years and are getting to be much more expensive online. I do see them from time to time in thrift shops and flea markets though. It's great when you find one with some inside features such as pockets or little extra trays.

    Hi Margarete, I started doing collages with your assignments two years ago. While at times, I found it frustrating to work within the confines of the assignments, I also learned an incredible amount about collaging itself since the topics were given and my concentration centered on how to make an arrangement that was pleasing to my eye (not always successful but, hey, I learned from that too). So thank you for providing them and all of your other valuable videos ❤

    This is such a wonderful idea! I have the time but I have so much to do and the mess I make is the biggest reason why I put it off. I have thought of doing crafts in my bedroom, but my main table that I use for everything has more space, is heavy, and my bedroom is really loud for some reason being next to traffic, so I keep it in my apartment living room. I love small spaces and my apartment is more than big enough for just me but I have a cat so I like having the little bit of extra space for her to roam some..but crafting is one of the downsides to it lol! I have a million ideas and little ability to get stuff I need for storage so my place is quite unorganized but not the worst, so I spend a lot of time rearanging things.

    ha! Great video actually! Project scope is absolutely essential as I see a simple project on YT and want to do it that night. But I go to my craft room, I see all my supplies and get overwhelmed EXACTLY as you outlined. It takes me time to gather all the goodies needed for that project and time flies! I like way too many videos, so I save all the projects I want to do in diff playlists. However, I have saved so many now I don't know which one I want to do first or when I am short on time. I need to pull stuff and put it in a bin to keep the narrow focus perhaps. But thank you so much for this video!! Thought provoking!

    Margarete: good directions for people who are thinking about collaging. To me, collaging is one of the most inexpensive and easiest way to be creative. I have a magazine that I’ve turned into a glue book. I create pages that appeal to me using what attracts me. As I look back, it’s most interesting to see what I have done. No rhyme or reason, but yet, it clearly reminds me what my interests are. It’s quite telling. And it’s so much fun. Carol from California
