This is the Welder that I use to put my rack together. I have owned it for a while now and love this little welder. It's a perfect DIY welder for small projects and an excellent tool for projects like this.
Mark love all your videos but a little advice. You're going to ruin your concrete by cutting and welding right on top of it. Put a piece of scrap underneath
Was wondering when you’d get snow! Like your plan for solar but have a question. Is there a reason to not install on the workshop roof, or even the new shed? Is it a snow weight issue or sun angle issue. Just curious. Have a fantastic week!
It's a sun angle thing. The new shed is sloped facing slightly north of west and it is 1500 feet away from the shop where our battery system is located. The shop roof is also oriented that way so I would end up needing to build racks on the roof to orient the panels and then I wouldn't be able to change angles with the season. Might be worth mounting some flat on the roof in the future just for supplemental harvest at some point but not for now.
@ Thanks for your answer! I was thinking it was sun angle, but I’ve seen other folks put on roof. One can never have enough power - lol - especially in your workshop. Well thought out and super progress!
We are planning on doing the addition to the back of the shop this winter and that is when we will be doing the siding. There are many things to add before that project gets started. I will be adding AC unit in the battery room, and a vent for the processing kitchen, lights and lean to's. Once those are completed the siding will go up pretty quick.

I hope you mean complicit, equally involved (possibly in something morally wrong), and not duplicit, calling him a liar... :P
Just teasing, he helped me design the solar rack and he is also a great math guy so just teasing.
