- My Mercedes C63 AMG Gets a new H Pipe Exhaust Setup. Ditched the old X Pipe Setup and I am NEVER GOING BACK. The X Pipe over balances the exhaust to a point where it kills the AMG Grunt. It still sounds loud from outside the car but inside its almost quieter than stock. The H Pipe is the closest thing to the FULL Straight pipe setup I had on the white C63 but it kills the rasp you get at full throttle. Its the perfect balance of the AMG Grunt minus the rasp for a perfect sound.

Finally someone driving a C63 the way it's meant to be driven. Sounds sick, I prefer the H pipe for sure.

Finally someone who clearly points out that H-pipe allows to keep that grunt! :D C63 has an H-pipe in its stock resonator from what I know, and people doing resonator delete or going for some X-pipe change the sound completely... Good job :D

Sounds good man! This setup is similar to the factory resonator design. It was more or less a straight through design with a small diameter h-pipe joining the two. Gotta have that M156 bark, otherwise what's the point of having one?

I was going to remove resonator (decat already done) and put X-pipe, but after this vid I start thinking it’s bad idea. Maybe it’s better to go with H-pipe like you did. The middle pipe connecting both sides is the same diameter or smaller?
Had to be smaller the bridge should be no larger that 0.5 inch

I got long tube headers catless, replaced res with an x pipe (was on car when I bought it) to OEM mufflers.
Looking to get her louder also a bit deeper tone. Think if I replace the X pipe with an H pipe will help? Also H pipe closer to the headers a better position or does that matter?
Was also thinking of replacing the whole thing and making it 3" piping through out to the oem mufflers.
X makes everything quiet. I would switch to a H or a straight.. But straight with headers will be a bit ratchet.. Some guys do a 200 cell hfc.. I think an. H pipe with a small diameter bridge might be pretty good for a header car
the front tires look wider then the rears for some reason. Otherwise, great sound superb video, youve got a new subscriber!
🙏🙏 This is what I hate about the amg coupe the front fenders are beefy but rears are not and it changes the way the wheels and tires look too. I'm lowering it soon lets see
@@nitish21 i totally agree, i ended up getting some HMS rear fenders for my sedan and it definetly helped the look alot. i shouldnt say this but i wish merc-amg would have done what BMW/M did with the e9x and f8x for the rear lol

So factory res is already an H pipe so doing that will make the car slightly louder but a better option is to leave the stock res and do straight pipe for the 2nd cat that will leave a great sound. If you want louder than that then you replace res with a H pipe with small diameter bridge like 0.5

I have a 2004 s55 - I am planning to go for H pipe resonator delete to give it a deep sound. Do you advice 0.5” diameter for the bridging pipe what happens if its larger?
The larger you go the smoother the tone. But the rougher tone is what gives the depth. Straight being the roughest tone

The H pipe set is hands down wayyy better. But specifically 0.75 inch bridge. Straight pipe was louder at low rpm but not a better sound at high rpm

@@nitish21 thats very true lol but i feel like ur w204 drifting videos get a lot of views. Yes tires arent cheap but people love seeing the tires get smoked by this car and the sound that it produces. I personally enjoy all of the 6.2L V8 videos no matter what because the sound is addicting and soon im gonna get a w212 e63 with the 6.2 so im living for these vids. Some people even learn from drifting videos so they might even be learning based off of ur content. But yes w204 content can be weird

Does the H-pipe go where the secondary cats were or where the resonator was?
You can choose either but just a fyi I went back to straight pipe in my recent videos for more volume and low end depth but this setup was pretty perfect

Hey Nitish so did you replace both resonator and secondary cats with two separate H pipes?
Replace one with straight and other with H. Doesn't matter which is which. Just a heads up btw. I went back to double straight lol. I'll be posting videos of that after some time but I have one on my IG reels if you wanna hear it

X pipe is for smoothing out headers mate, good choice with the H pipe. I have headers on mine with the standard res which has a tiny H built in, its kept its tone but its super super loud at wot, Might be a little too loud for the drifts you do or yolo go for it
If I have stock exhaust w just sec cat delete what do you recommend. Primary cat delete or res delete w H or leave as is. Headers too labour intensive can’t do. What u think

@@nitish21 why not delete a actual restriction like primary cats instead of a resonator that isn’t a restriction. I heard the smell is barely noticeable
@@multiblade04 most power gain is from deleting the primary cats yeah. I have catless headers on mine its the next level above again but it does smell pretty bad (Maybe its the headers), I don't daily the car anymore, more for just blasts or meets etc. The mid range torque with the headers is insane it feels almost turbocharged, from 3k rpm when it comes on cam and carries it al the way to 7.5k it is addictive. But its way too loud for the drifts and burnouts where I live. Im running a consistent 7.8 100-200 times with just a headers, Uk pump fuel and eurocharged tune

I have a 2010 cls63 amg p30 and so far it’s a stock exhaust. sounds amazing but way too quiet inside vs. outside lol.
so you recommend resonator delete in place with an H pipe ? I cannot do a secondary cat delete because the exhaust on the w211/w219 m156 cars is shaped weird and requires a lot of bending and shaping which on average would cost $600-800 just for a secondary cat delete.
I’d say maybe even just do the res delete with straight pipe then for more sound since you’re keeping the cats

Yea it was. Buy 2011+ for head bolts issues is fixed.

@@DriverJizzle start the engine a few times and listen for a rattle if it's loud it might have a cam adjuster rattle
@@nitish21 I noticed some of them are a little noisy, is that just common on this engine ?
@@DriverJizzle yea its common some have minor wear you can use things like ceratec to keep the cam adjusters lubed it really just in the design of the moror.
If you want to get the best exhaust note on your videos. You'll have to do what I do with mine and lay the back seats dows

I prefer the X pipe, the sound it's like a IPE
It was clean from outside very smooth sound but there was zero volume or depth inside the car. Probably better with headers but we found my car was deeper than the x pipe with headers setup his was just louder

You can get into a 09 under 20k these are probably between 30-40 for a coupe. The sedans are under 30

It was a eurocharged Canada x pipe
How much louder would you say this is compared to stock?
Significantly louder, inside the car though it's still quiet but from outside the car it's pretty damn loud

Cuz if I do that it gets really loud and loses the amg grunt. Also headers are expensive so I'm waiting on that

My white car was true dual. It gets raspy at full throttle

Mine has 178,000km now and I still redline and engine brake hard every once in a while. My friend has one with 270k. The main pieces like engine and trans is solid
