I think for the women who get to that age without getting too stuck in to judging themselves, there comes a freedom of the invisibility many women face at that age. It's a hard hurdle for many who were very visible before, but there is a huge freedom in it being ok and almost expected that you're a bit eccentric in some way.
When I was in art school, the best lifedrawing model was this 60+ year old woman who brought her own props to set up insane scenes, and would tell us what her character was and her history. It was wild, and really funny because it was lifedrawing for animators, so we didn't do poses for longer than five minutes. So she had SO many naked improv scenes, it was fantastic.
