The last shot of the 'curve sand leading to the tree' is my favourite if you asked me to choose one ........ Thanks for re-living the memories into The Great Outback , Master SMITH 👏👏👏
Hay Hay thanks Eric 🙏😀 I remember being in such a rush to get that last shot as the colour was fading so quickly 😱 Great memories of a great trip - amazing countryside! All the best!
Many thanks Amalie 🙏. We had great conditions that night although it was all a little crazy as the colour in the sky didn't last for long 😉. Thanks for watching 👍
So beautiful photos! It is such a big different in the feeling of the calm water in a flat lake compared to the water in pictures of a waterfall or sea with dynamic waves! 🏞🌊
Many thanks Fanny 🙏 Yes I agree and the other thing that makes this place so special is that all around it is virtually like a desert landscape. I don't think the lake has seen this much water for many years and with all the rain we've had recently, it's full to the brim 😉 Thanks for watching 👍👍
Many thanks Adrian - that's very kind of you 🙏 I've got a little bit more footage on this area including Mungo NP so look out for it in a future video. All the best 👍
Gorgeous photos of what is, when it is full, an absolutely stunning location. The colours that you captured are magnificent. I last visited Menindee Lake in the early 1980s when I was shooting film. The lake was full and the lake was covered in bird life. I look forward to your upcoming videos. All the best for the New Year. Take care and stay safe.
Many thanks John 🙏 Yes it really is quite a stunning place and great to see the lake full again. During our trip, most of the migratory birds hadn't arrived yet but it's only a matter of time. More to come, along with some pics from Mungo NP. All the best 👍
Hi Brian, Great images once again. I visited Menindee Lake over 20 years ago. At the time I was shooting on slide film before digital. Menindee Lake is a great place to get beautiful images. Great to see the lake is full of water again.
Many thanks Martin 🙏 Yes, great to see the lake so full although I was being told that at 105% it does do some unwanted erosion to the banks etc. Still better to be full than empty though eh! There are some amazing scenes here - those dead trees are all standing there, just waiting to be photographed. More to come. Thanks for watching 👍
I couldn't see your channel when I search for Menindee Lake until now. Your shots are stunning! I wish I could have the same shot when I visit this place in Sep. Thank you Brian for sharing your technique too.
Many thanks T Yik 🙏. With a little bit of luck, I'm sure you'll get some great shots there 👍. It's an amazing place and well worth the trip. Thanks for watching 👍
Second best trip of 2021 and what a place to explore the best of western nsw.. a lake with dead tree …sincerely thanks for such a beautiful trip and make us part of Australian Photography Master group. Shot of alone tree is best and knowing that there was a brown snake around us somewhere watching us makes it more exciting 😂
Thanks so much Manu - yes, the far West of NSW is quite spectacular eh 👍 It was such a good trip and packed with things for photographers to shoot. Big shout out to Geoff Looney in Menindee for taking us to his favourite spots there. All the best 🙏🙏
Many thanks Juanita 🙏 Yes there was something about that big beautiful dead tree in the first shot that made it quite photogenic 😉 Thanks for watching 👍👍
So cool Brian. Sorry to miss this trip but your vlog is a good way to share the experience. Such simple scenes but creative comps. All good but the portrait shot adds beautiful variety to the set. Keep ‘Em coming 😎
Many thanks Gary - much appreciated 🙏🙏 Yes, it was such a great trip and we missed you on this one. There's always the next one though eh 👍 All the best and thanks for watching 👍👍
Many thanks Graham 🙏 Yes, this was a good one. We had a few challenges with the weather conditions but we were fortunate to be able to get shots everywhere we went. All the best 👍
Beautiful. I'm thinking of going here next week but heard they're evacuating Menindee due to floods so not looking too good. Where abouts were you able to access the waters edge with dead trees?
Hi Noeline - sorry I missed your comment before 🙏 These were taken quite close to Menindee Lakes Caravan Park on the East side of Menindee Lake. You'll find some tracks up and down the shoreline so you can go exploring around the area. Were you able to make the trip out? We also encountered lots of flooding so we were very lucky to get through. All the best 👍
Excellent video loved it. I did a Mingo trip a few years ago and loved it as well. The images you have captured are amazing. A question though, how did you do the animated map with the car driving the route? I would like to learn how to do this.
Many thanks 🙏 More to come in the next video on Mungo NP 😉 Actually the driving map is just an app on my phone - keep it simple eh! Thanks for watching 👍
Many thanks John 🙏 It was actually quite close to Menindee Lakes Caravan Park on the East side of Menindee Lake. That whole area has so many comps to be had. You'll find some tracks up and down the shoreline so you can go exploring around the area. All the best and hope you get some keepers 👍
