  • Fishing South Florida for rainy season tarpon. the bite was ON! Fly Fishing & Spin Fishing. I linked up with my buddy ‪@Edventuretime_‬ to get after some fish. Jumped on tarpon on fly early on and lost my only fly, so I switched over to the spinner.

    Great video. Canal fishing is always fun. Spinning rods are great to have. I always have a spinning rod and a fly rod with me. some times I get tired of casting the fly rod and the spinner gives me a nice break. I cant wait to see the maiden voyage of the jon boat. I hope its almost ready.

    Mini mullet is a great bait. That's what I keep rigged on my spinning rod. I'll take it with me if I run across something I can't get to with a fly.

    🌴 this was unexpected, spinning gear , but at least you hooked up , going weedless was the only way to go , 🤔 So now combine spinning gear and fly fishing, use a clear spinning bubble and the black minnow fly 👍🏼🤔 all this rain sucks , bad on camera gear to ! 😕

      Haha. I lost my only fly early on to a tarpon at the first spot. Decided to give these a try. I’ve always heard how great they are. I’m definitely not going to switch to spin often, but occasionally it’s a great tool for scouting new spots. Quick casts, see if anyone is home. We were scouting for Jon boat spots. Haha 👀

      @@Eric.Estrada , sounds like you need some bench time on the fly’s , mass production 😆 have you tried the black fly with a weed guard ? 🤔

    Great video. I’m New England Striper guy myself, I would love to get a shot at tarpon. What kind of line clippers are in the video. The large blue handle ones, thank you.

    What knot did u use to tie your jig head

    • @Eric.Estrada
      @Eric.Estrada  Год назад

      I learned it many years ago on the back of a Rapala Xrap packaging. They called it the Rapala Knot. But I think it's also known as a non-slip loop knot. I use it for everything, including flies. But I only do 1.5 turns, it clinches down far better and avoids more friction on the tippet / leader while tying it on.
