Hi! I’m vegan and use mushrooms so much. Tell Cleveland to use oyster mushrooms or lions manes instead! lions mane can be a bit difficult to find, try organic stores and farmers markets. but the texture of those two mushrooms mimic meat much better

Mushrooms will definitely work for a meat substitute. Even tofu, but you have to freeze it first (firm) press it, crumble it, season it, bake it, and then take it out of the oven and sauté it with salsa and you’ll never know the difference. You can even use soaked walnuts blended with onions, seasonings, and mushrooms. Black beans mashed up with salsa and taco seasonings is really good with a flour tortilla shell. Either way you choose is going to be good.

I would do black beans for the taco meat replacement because they have a good flavor profile and they are the closest thing to the meaty texture of actual turkey or ground beef.
I luv black bean tacos/burritos. Canned jackfruit fruit cooked with onions with added bbq sauce has the texture of pulled pork.

Yes, you can use the portobella mushrooms sliced or chopped. You can use walnuts or pecans as well for ground meat as well soak them before you use them.

Do it Cleveland! I quit meat Jan 2 for the new year haven’t eaten it since lost 20lbs and feel and look great ! I use mushrooms ALOT as substitute for meat burgers, taco meat, and even wings in the air fryer ! Best decision ever ❤🎉

Hey Mrs. Von, I go without eating meat 4 or 5 times a year. I chop walnuts in the processor with a lil broth, it has the texture of meat once chopped and seasoned. Thanks for sharing
YES YOU CAN Roast, grill or bake the mushrooms, try crushing with a rolling pin & wax paper (using hand method helps control the texture) or light pulsing in processor the walnuts or pecans a mix of two or three after (mushrooms & walnuts raw or mushrooms and pecans raw add any other seasonings and vegetables a little olive or walnut oil ) using the roasted, grill, or bake ( I used the oven first to roast then added them to skillet to simmer and make the grounded mixture as you would add all your ingredients as usual(red bell, orange bell pepper, onions, garlic, taco seasonings, sauces etc) simmer until the ground mixture is reduced to a filling to your liking and enjoy!

I too am trying to substitute some meats, I can do veggies as long as they are covered with some kind of sauce, its the texture for me. So for spaghetti, tacos etc. I've been using mushrooms with whatever seasonings/sauces and add-ons and I also batter and air fry/fried them they're a good chicken substitute . The one thing I will not sacrifice is ground beef for a hamburger!

I’m about to cut meat out too. I used to use the Dr. Sebi alkaline list to eat better. I’m going back to that. Cleveland can use the portobello mushrooms and walnuts. Soak the walnuts overnight then ground them up to the texture you prefer, mix with the ground mushrooms and season it lightly until it’s the amount of seasoning you like. It’s easy to over season. I hope that helps.

I usually use texture vegetable protein and add seasoning and browning sauce to make my vegan ground beef for tacos, etc. But for mushrooms, find one to your taste that tastes meaty and not fishy bc a lot of ppl use the wrong mushrooms. Cleveland needs to find a good protien powder for protien as well for energy boost so he doesn't feel like he lost some energy. I recommend highly Vega protien powder. It works. Ive been vegan over 10 yrs.

I watch a lot of cooking videos, both with meat and vegan, a lot vegans are using chopped walnuts for their taco meat, add the taco seasoning and go for it with your toppings of choice, it looks so close to the texture of meat. I am planning to try it also, need to get back on my healthy eating journey. Thanks for the longer vlog and for taking us with you🤗. Javonne I have those same Prada glasses, we have good taste😊. Yes! Hunni that yoni oil is remarkable. TMI; but after using the yoni oil in the shower a few times, I would use the bathroom and each time I would notice how super soaked that penguin was and said "daaaannnnng... what's happening here?! " 😂 However, I'm way too sensitive to it and may have to discontinue it. Ladies, that yoni oil is the truth though. Don't knock til you try it.
Hey Javonne! You can use Walnuts to make tacos. It’s a good meaty alternative. I used shiitake mushrooms as a meat alternative when making tacos and spaghetti. I hope this helps

I was like dang it I really wanted that face butter , yoni oil , and coco cashmere but I’ll have to wait till next month if it’s available, my husband waiting on your rosemary and mint hair butter , he remembered that I told him you restock every 1st of the month lol and tell Mr. Cleveland yes he can and watch Tabitha brown for all those vegan changes and she also uses jackfruit .. trust I follow a lot of vegan cooks and man I see its possible I just pray I can get that full push to do it all , I have made slight adjustments to my snacks like getting Chocolate dipped chewy granola bars , nature valley soft baked oatmeal squares and there regular crunchy sticks , Cliff bars , and nutri grain bars as well as me and my husband made a pact to restart cooking at home and have been since end of March but I still feel like that’s not enough , but I want to lose weight and be healthy but God loves us no matter what we weigh and eat that soul just needs to be light for heaven 🙏🏾🌺💖….. but I love your videos and products and sending blessings to you and your family and tell Mr. Cleveland I’m rooting for his meatless journey ✊🏾

I’ve been vegetarian for 6 years and I eat my tacos with black beans. I drain them with diced onion & peppers and then add in taco seasoning or sometimes I use Sazon in the orange pack.
