Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is technically far ahead of anything that's available in the market today. As someone who owns both S23 Ultra and iPhone 13 pro, I certainly appreciate how much the Ultra makes my life easier especially at work with its unique capabilities like Dex and S pen. Its smooth, fast and leaves no stones unturned. The experience is just unparalleled.

Hi Ranjith - have been using S23U since launch and I agree with all your comments except the one about the phone being too wide. I have been a long term samsung user and had the S22 last year so was worried whether this will be too big. Surprisingly the S23U has been designed well and weight balanced that i don't seem to have an issue with the bulkiness or weight or width. I have also used s21U, and must say S23U feels much better in the hand for me. Also you should talk about the Dex mode. I am using dex to connect with my laptop and operate the phone from the laptop and it's brilliant. DEX is a a true differentiator in my view and usage. Bixby has also improved a lot over the years that it is actually useful now.

I still face the shutter lag. It's not in power with Pixel and iPhone. Mostly shaky pics! Especially when there are little moments of kids. Samsung needs to fix it, or it's not worth having a phone that costs more than a lakh! The only reason to stick to the phone is the s pen. 10X is super useful in certain conditions. Excellent battery life. The white balance is not great under fluorescent bulbs. In bright sunlight, it is good. Wish they fix it in the update or in S24! Thanks for the review.

I am using S22U. Battery life is a big improvement looks like. But apart from that, its not worth upgrading. Samsung is the only company which improves phone after launch with updates (in flagships at least). So if you have S22U, wait for S24 or even S25. It can last easily

Hi Ranjit Sir, the main reason Samsung is not increasing its charging speed with that higher 60 to 75W charging is because it degrades the Battery of a device overtime, that's the reason iPhone too doesn't increase the charging speeds.

      @abhishekn9871 Год назад +3

I'm ok for faster charging speeds even if it degrades the battery (still not proven 100%)... I'm going to keep a Samsung flagship for at least 4-5 yrs, so in the meantime after 2-3 years, I'm ok to replace the battery... The base S23 is stuck at just 25w which is unacceptable in 2023 where in it takes more than 1hr 15min to fully charge the device... The reason iPhone doesn't have faster charging support is cuz of that shitty lightning port... The iPhone 15 series is tipped to get the Type-C port which will definitely improve the charging speeds... So hoping that the S24 series will support faster charging speeds (at least 45w for the base model & 65w for the plus & the ultra)...

@@Chopper153 its not fast charging, but the heat associated with faster charging.. Also Oppo has 80w-100w charging for its flagships find x5pro and x6 pro and promises 1500-1600 charge cycles before battery capacity drops below 80%. thats 4 years of usage without need of battery replacement, all because oppo focused on managing battery heat and using dual cell batteries with each having its own vapor chamber. Huawei and honor have also increased battery density by 12-15% and companies are using dedicated chips to manage heat. its not that hard, faster charging degrading battery is old news when heat management was not there.

Its unbelievable that no one talking about issues with s23 ultra screen.
    1 - (most annoying issue)
screen colors are washed off and overexposed. I dont know whether its hardware limit or not. Many people complaining about it in reddit forums.
2 - (less of an issue) samsung using 8bit display in comparison to 10 bit display. Which means you will see color banding.
I myself using it for last 3 months, i believe any display on market, even the previous samsung phones display easily beat s23 ultra in these regards. My father has samsung m21, which handling higlight and contrast as it should be compared to s23 ultra.

    1. Shutter lag in camera.
    2. Horrible video editing capabilities
    3. Metering in video destroys good video.
    4. Constant bugs with RUclips studio/Video players
    5. Horrible default video player in gallery (copied an already horrible design from iphones)
    6. Auto input with Samsung Pass never works seamlessly.
    7. What is new in this UI ?
    8. Extremely capable camera but same old software interference 😢
    9. Confusing bloatware.
    10. Heats up scarily.
    11. Front camera mic is pathetic. It was brilliant earlier.
    12. Huge side walls with 234g weight is tough on the hands.
    13. The s pen keeps on ejecting out. They fixed the initial connection issue with an update.
Otherwise a decent phone. Every Samsung feels the same after 1 month. It's a tough choice for tech enthusiasts. Nothing really magical has come out in many years. The iphone vs android war is destrying flagships. Every 6 months a new snapdragon appears. I bought this for Snapdragon but I don't see much improvement. Nonetheless a reliable device if you can manage the samsung laziness.
Don't you think tech reviewers are being used as beta testers these days ?

Charging speed can be improved by using 5A cable with 45w charger. Sad to see that no adaptor in the box and the cable in the box is 3A cable with doesnot provide full 45w charging.

General observation - Samsung flagship phones have far better cellular and WI-FI reception and Call quality than iPhones. My own S20 FE 5G has far better voice quality, cellular and Wi-Fi reception and noise cancellation than my iPhone 12. Even the cameras of S20 FE 5G perform better than iPhone 12 except for the videos. Apple really needs to improve cellular reception on iPhones.

Hi. The S Pen is good coz if u happen to have Tab S8 Ultra like me. Quick editing on the tab and phone is very good and so handy. Students like me will really appreciate the S Pen on the Note Ultra. Currently i Use A71. I really wish to have a S23 Ultra for ease on the go editing. Hope this perspective was helpful. 17:54

I mean it's not worth it. Unless you have the money and you are some kind of creator who has to have that latest flagship for your work then only it's justifiable.
Also if the snapdragon gen 1 heating issue is really that bad then maybe you can consider it or else for day to day usage you won't notice much difference.

I have both and I find the screen to be better on the S22U. Only major difference is battery life is much better on the S23 Ultra. It's only a minimal upgrade to be honest as they're almost the same phone.

The Charging cable in THE box is 3A one which do not support 45w charging - it only shows super charge instead of supercharge 2.0.
So you need to use 5A cable with 45w charger inorder to achieve super charge 2.0.(3.5k for 45w charger comes with 5A cable bundled)

If you are more into mobile videography, go for s23 Ultra. But if you are more into photography, s22 Ultra pictures including night mode pictures are much better than s23 Ultra. I own an s22 Ultra and recently got an s23 Ultra too. After doing image and video comparison, I found s22 Ultra images are less grainy, sharper (less sharp after April update), more clear, basically overall better than s23 Ultra. In s23 Ultra colours are accurate, but only for skin tones, sky and reds and images have yellowish tint as you can see that in sample images in this video. The videos are definitely better than s22 Ultra. Surprisingly, shadow areas are grainier in pictures, but video of the same shadow areas has no grains in videos of s23 Ultra. After the April update, selfie video quality has improved a lot in s22 Ultra. So, overall the s22 Ultra is more stable in terms of camera performance. Another huge problem in s23 Ultra is off-axis colour shifting of the screen. Just put 2 icons - one at top and another one at bottom - of the same application on Home Screen, you will see the difference in the colour of both icons. Run a white screen test video from RUclips and look at it from different angles. The colour shifting is too high. If you do the same test on s22 Ultra, you won't see any colour shifting unless you are viewing at almost 180 degrees. Other problems observed are washed out colours on screen, network issues, call drops and slow Wi-Fi. It's surprising that none of the reviews of s23 Ultra on RUclips mentioned these issues. Upgrading to s23 Ultra from s22 Ultra is a waste of money unless you are more into mobile videography. I tested Super 16, Filmic Pro, Motion Cam Pro on both s22 Ultra and s23 Ultra. Videos of s23 Ultra were definitely better than s22 Ultra's videos but hardly 10 percent. But if you do post-processing of any kind, then there is no point to go for s23 Ultra even for videography.

I just got mine because of a very good discount (almost 50% off) but I am not impressed. The 4x-9x zoom range sucks. It gives noisy, oversharpened pictures, my 2018 Huawei Mate 20 Pro is giving much better results in terms of clarity. For some reason it gives better results from 10x to 30x than from 4x to 9x. It's also very thick and heavy, I don't know if I am keeping it, might as well wait for the S24 Ultra, which is rumored to have a much better lossless zoom from 1x to 10x because of a new sensor, hopefully it will also be slimmer.

I have been using S 23 Ultra since 4 months
S pen, I don’t have much of a use with it
Pricing is something samsung could have done better
Cameras are good, however 100x zoom is you get washed out/softened/oily painting kind of pictures, it would have been great had they included a few more zoom options like from 30x till 100x
    30-50-75-100 like that
