Akihiko and mitsuru are like yosuke and chie, they could be something but end up as more trouble for one another. Akihiko doesn't know how to approach mitsuru and is not really good at romance. Mitsuru is kinda oblivious to a lot of things and more about business. He probably run away from her then anything because he fears her. I'll give it a couple of more years and maybe they will think differently
Akihiko and Mitsuru are my favorite duo in all of Persona. They just got each other and they know to cover their blind spots and push each other forward when need be

I shipped Akihiko and Mitsuru since I played the orignal years ago, during their very first scene at the start of the game. I think its fair enough that they're just platonic friends throughout the game, to give a chance for the MC to romance her and I'm totally fine with it. Since we know how this game will end, who knows maybe when they're both mature enough and when the time is right for both of them, maybe they'll have a chance together in the future. Just my opinion, and a little wishful thinking
