🤷🏻♂️how can a 16-ch console “give you 32”??..are there 32 inputs ? Thanks 👍🏼
It's an inline console, so there's 2 audio paths per channal, simply spoken. While recording, one's used for the (mic-)source, the other for the tape-/daw-returns. In mixdown mode you can use both channels at once. Channel a is usually fully fitted with eq/auxes/large faders/pan, channel b basically has just level and pan, though some eq/aux functions could probably be applied to it.
