Awesome video but you don't need to use the bleeder kit, just remove the cap and compress the piston. Thanks for posting this video, I've done several cars based on this and saved tons of money.
I don't know why but the top bracket bolt is in front of the strut to knuckle bolt and I can't get shit in there, I got every other wrench and 4 or 5 5/8s but not a single 15mm fucccck
I just bought a 03 Mustang and the use dealer put new brake pads on and both of my front brakes get so hot even the wheels are hot I cannot touch them there is friction somewhere where do you think my problem is. Seems unlikely both calipers would be sticking have gone bad all at once anybody got any suggestions before I get in there and look around
Most of these parts will be used many times throughout your life so the cost of them shouldn't stop you from getting a collection going. Whether it be $100 set or a $2,000 set. You can get very small kits of ratchets (or by themselves) screwdrivers, clamps for pretty cheap. The ones in the video shouldn't run you too much at all.. maybe $100. Probably less.
First of all why would you clamp the brake hose? This tends to destroy the hose on the inside causing micro-particles of rubber to get all through the system including the very expensive to replace (there is no repairing) the anti-lock braking system. Second why loosen the bleeder for a pad and rotor replace? Been working on cars for more than 3 decades, and have never seen such a hack job as this video... Clean the area around your brake fluid reservoir cap. Open the brake reservoir, remove a little fluid and dispose of it. Leave half of what you started with, unless you have a leaking brake line you should have plenty. Put your cap back on. Jack up the car. Loosen the bolts on the caliper. Hang the caliper off the coil spring so the hose does not CRIMP. Remove the pads. Pushin the caliper piston (usually by hand unless a lot of dirt/dust. If so look to see if the seal is leaking...) pull off rotor, install new parts... not real hard, but some people should not work on cars it seems...
Never, and I mean never do you hose clamp pliers on a brake line. Just bleed the brakes the old fashion way with someone in the car pumping them up. Bad advice guys.
Jacking up the car in the center isn't such a good idea. I wouldn't do it if I were any of you watching this. Save yourself an accident and do it on one side first, then the other.
Saved me about 200 dollars!!!
Thank you guys! Great video and instruction.
Thanks . You make it look so easy .

Extremely helpful, thank you!
Awesome video really helped me a lot.
This was very informative...
Great how to video. Thanks!
Very detailed video, didn't really need the whole procedure a second time for the other side but great video!
Not the fastest way, no bleeding on a pad change.
Boss will freak.
2004 LX ? A rare stang indeed.
Great video. Thank you for sharing. I have an 03 Cobra, so I am guessing it is not much different other than maybe the torque settings for the bolts.
I replaced my rotor and brakes today on my 2002 Mustang GT and you DO NOT have to bleed the brakes.

To bleed the brakes for this model mustang, What pattern should I go by? Should it be Right Rear, Left Rear, Right Front, Left Front ?
how do you change break pads on a 2013 Mustang I need video. Thank you !!!

Can we do this without bleeding the brakes? Some of us don't have the money for all these tools and I can't ever find anyone to help me bleed brakes.
2004 Ford Mustang "LX"?
i have a 96 gt, its pretty much the same thing right? they didnt change to much going in to the 2000's
Great video. An estimation of the cost of the parts?
Can you make a video on how to replace the tie rods?
The LX mustang ended with the fox body styles
LX??

So i dont need to bleed them for the pads and rotors?
TheKillacandyman
not for just the pads and rotors but it never hurts either.
+Ghost Rider it helps to let the piston retract easier its a great idea.
Hose clamp pliers, never.
Exactly. I never see any mechanic do that.

No such thing as an 04 mustang LX. Good video though.
