Granted, I dont listen to a lot of live performances, but his vocals are great live. Probably helps that he doesnt have to play the material live. I wish more bands would take advantage of this.

A powerful & beautiful performance. The Great War was so horrendous, a dysgenic slaughter that took the lives & souls of so many bright young men. For Christ's sake, when will we learn? No more brother wars.
I would add Totenwache and Non Est Deus to that bill. That would be an awesome show. This was an awesome show. I had no idea Kanonenfieber was this amazingly good live, even better than on the albums
Wow. What an unforeseen gift to the world this is. The snow, the trench barb-wire, the music, it's f***ing beautiful. As a lifelong student of the great war I hope it generates some interest in WW1, it was one of humanity's most brutal and darkest moments and is largely forgotten. The mass slaughter we could invoke from the newly industrialized world was far more savage and bestial than the second go-round. As they walk off the stage the crowd is mostly quiet... A fitting reaction to what they just saw. Brilliant performance.
WW1 was truly hell on earth. When people say "war is hell" that's what they're talking about. I'm only just getting into the history behind it again, at least since I was in my high school years. Incredible but brutal things happened in those short years.
Very true, though i think the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the developing trenchwar there has its modern equivalence in a way. You still have Russia using phosphor on cities and trenches, some cases of nerve gas, thermobaric bombs....then the cold of Ukrainian winter... starving Russian soldiers, medieval medical care... horrific to know there are still so many similarities. And yet, the world seems to turn a blind eye again. It helps, but not as much as you would expect knowing these horrors Russia brings.... again.... on innocent people.

There is a tolerable part of German history - the empire or "Germany as such" - and there is a highly toxic part, namely the history of Prussia. Prussia was the successor to the thoroughly bandit state of the "Teutonic Knights" (all states of the time would be bandits from today's point of view but these were thugs among bandits) and a tragically toxic factor in European history - in the political sense, because of course in science, industry and governance they had interesting achievements. The imposition of the "Prussian spirit" on all of Germany was a prelude to the tragedy of Europe. And the world will only begin to understand how great a tragedy (opening the gates to further tragedies) was the partition of Poland.
I don't understand the language but the singer himself is a storyteller with his body language, the way he shows so much emotions without seeing his face is a great performance. Der Füsilier I brought me to tears.

@@humantacos9800 Except that is not what he is talking about he is talking about how they bring on the trees (to represent the carpathian forests) the snow machines (to represent the fighting in the snow) and that Noise (the voclaist) uses a physical prop of a photo of a family to emphasises that soldiers were freezing to death in the snow thousands of miles from home thinking of their families. HOLY SHIT THIS IS GREAT. First time hearing this band. Not only are the songs well written but these guys sounds super tight and the quality of the recording is superb. DEFINITELY going to be looking more into these guys. I love German shit and the aesthetic they have going here is bad ass.
It is really poignant that as the show progresses we see the singer demonstrating signs of shellshock. PTSD wasn't even known or recognized back then and soldiers who suffered from it were executed for desertion of duty. In England even today relatives still fight for the clearing of the names of their ancestors who were unjustly executed for cowardice when in fact they suffered from shellshock. The Great War was terrible for those who went through it.

Das ist ne krasse Audiovisuelle Erfahrung! Hab am Anfang nicht glauben wollen das das der Livesound ist....richtig gut gemacht, angefangen von den Gitarren, den geilen Drums, der Bass und die Stimme klingt super Klar und verständlich. Es passt einfach alles, Bühnenperformance, Licht...der Schnee.... Nahe an der Perfektion! Danke an die Jungs auf der Bühne und an jeden der bei der Filmischen Produktion beteiligt war. Einfach unglaublich gut! Ich hoffe auf mehr solcher Livesets ;)

Still hard to believe this a live performance! From the sound quality, stagecraft and my God the energy! Even after a month of listening to the album, I'd rather hear the live audio it's just so damn good!
It's like reading "Storm of Steel" for the first time. I am not well versed in Black Metal, but I like this. The story this tells is magnificent (even though I do not speak German). I hope they never lose this aesthetic, because the mis-en-scene here is transcendent.
Admittedly, I've been sceptical about Kanonenfieber so far, mainly because of the hype and because, for reasons I can't explain, I wasn't particularly excited by the one time I heard the album when it came out. However, I've now seen them as the support act / co-headliner for Batushka and - holy shit - that must have been one of the best, most entertaining, energetic and flawless live performances I've seen in the last ten years. Since then I've also had suddenly a completely different approach to their great music...What live performances can do.
First live show I've seen of them now, it's nice that they seem to be an absolute force on stage as they are on the album... Also great production on the recording and video!
Bei Füsilier 2 hatte das Publikum Schwierigkeiten zu entscheiden. Jubeln oder Weinen? Einfach unbeschreiblich. Ein perfektes Beispiele, was Black Metal sein kann, wenn man sein Herzblut hinein steckt. Freue mich Euch das nächste Mal in München zu sehen.
Unbeschreiblich wie hart das einen mitnimmt. Der Text ist mega gut geschrieben und die Tremolo-gepickte Melodie dazu machen es einfach zu nem Meisterwerk.

Yeah this shit is genuinely impressive. Most bands sound bad live, this is my first time hearing them, and it's live. Normally, I can't listen to live shows because it's just not the same.

Aber das hier ist... ich kann es kaum beschreiben... Durch Zufall von RUclips drauf hingewiesen worden: "EY DU PENNER, GEILE BAND, ANHÖREN!" Richtig, richtig gut!

Ja, stimmt schon... Black Metal ist mir häufig zu melancholisch, aber in letztes Zeit weiß ich auch das sehr zu schätzen. Und welche Musikrichtung würde besser in die unerbittliche Zeit des 1. Weltkriegs passen als Black Metal? Die Show ist aber auch wirklich toll gemacht... Insgesamt merkt man die Liebe zur Musik und zum Detail. Ich freue mich auf zukünftige Teilhabe an solch erbaulichen Stücken schwarzer Musik.

It's like reading "Storm of Steel" for the first time. I am not well versed in Black Metal, but I like this. The story this tells is magnificent (even though I do not speak German). I hope they never lose this aesthetic, because the mis-en-scene here is transcendent.

Admittedly, I've been sceptical about Kanonenfieber so far, mainly because of the hype and because, for reasons I can't explain, I wasn't particularly excited by the one time I heard the album when it came out. However, I've now seen them as the support act / co-headliner for Batushka and - holy shit - that must have been one of the best, most entertaining, energetic and flawless live performances I've seen in the last ten years. Since then I've also had suddenly a completely different approach to their great music...What live performances can do.

Ein perfektes Beispiele, was Black Metal sein kann, wenn man sein Herzblut hinein steckt. Freue mich Euch das nächste Mal in München zu sehen.
Der Song geht auch extrem unter die Haut. Nimmt mich auch ziemlich mit, wenn man über die Lyrics liest.
Unbeschreiblich wie hart das einen mitnimmt. Der Text ist mega gut geschrieben und die Tremolo-gepickte Melodie dazu machen es einfach zu nem Meisterwerk.

Alter... Wahnsinn... ich hab schon so viele Bands live in München gesehen, aber das ist wirklich gigantisch. Ich höre eigentlich nur Death Metal und die Richtung dergleichen... Aber das hier ist... ich kann es kaum beschreiben... Durch Zufall von RUclips drauf hingewiesen worden: "EY DU PENNER, GEILE BAND, ANHÖREN!" Richtig, richtig gut!
Wenn du nur Death Metal und Ähnliches hörst, was spricht hiergegen? :D Ist doch Black/Death und sollte damit by default was sein, dass dir gefällt? :D Schön, dass du was Neues gefunden hast, das dir gefällt, ich bin nur über die Schlussfolgerung gestolpert ...
Ja, stimmt schon... Black Metal ist mir häufig zu melancholisch, aber in letztes Zeit weiß ich auch das sehr zu schätzen. Und welche Musikrichtung würde besser in die unerbittliche Zeit des 1. Weltkriegs passen als Black Metal? Die Show ist aber auch wirklich toll gemacht... Insgesamt merkt man die Liebe zur Musik und zum Detail. Ich freue mich auf zukünftige Teilhabe an solch erbaulichen Stücken schwarzer Musik.
