I've seen a few cases that Id swear they just put them together and self-referenced themselves on start up. You bring up a good point on the lateral play and the swing angle of the rod. I've seen a lot of them crack or leak oil from taking too much out
love how you just have chips all over your crank shaft assembly, lol
This is just mock up. Everything gets a good final cleaning.
@@pistonrodsanddadbods8927 yeah, but why not take it out and then blow out all the chips before testing if the case has been properly clearanced?
Very educateding video thanx bud
Nice easy to follow instructions.. Great vid ✌
Very good info 👍
Thanks and thanks for subscribing, it means a lot to us.
this is a big help
Nice video
What you thought on 84 mm stroker
Is This a 2.0L ? I'm trying to bring one back to life with a 2.0 the original stroker spun a bearing cracked case on oil gaily. Has scat crank big jugs and long rods. I thank you for this vid I'm going to give it Hell!
This motor is going to be an 1800 as it has stock bore. If it was a 94mm bore then it would be a 2.2L. Glad you found the video useful and sorry for such a late reply.
So it will be a almost square motor? Would be interesting to see if an 1835 makes the same power.
I when funds allow we would love to build a identical 1835 and Dyno both to put the argument to rest once and for all.
Should the cylinder jug be clearanced also where it sits in the case?
Yes. Stroker piston kits have a shorter cylinder base that slips in the case. If you are using a non stroker cylinder and have a long enough stroke. Then you may have to clearance the cylinder base area.
Idk. Just buy an aftermarket aluminum case. Shuffle pinned and clearance up to 82mm vw journal, 86mm chevy journal.
What is your thoughts on 82 stroker in a original case thanks
With aftermarket rods it will fit well with some clearancing of the case. With stock rods you will be real close to making windows in the case.
Que virabrequim é esse? Parabéns pelo vídeo.👍
80 mm com colo vw
@@jacirleisilvabatista2777 thanks👍
Which cigueñal you used? I would like to know
This one was an AA 80mm 4140 chromoly crank with VW journals. At the time I bought it, it was one of the cheapest.
15:13 The case appears to be cracked just past the low spot; or is that an illusion?
No cracks just the way the light hits the casting and crappy camera.
How long is the stroke?
The crank is an 80mm stroke with vw rod journals.
85.5 x 80 ? How is it running today?
It is awaiting it's time to be installed. Built it for a friend and he is getting his garage redone. So when it is in I will make a review of how it is performing.
Great video but with the nose drip and camera shaking I'd say spend the Hundred on parts next time
👍
Hopefully I won’t have to clearance the case with a 76 counter balance crank with original vw rods,
With stock rods it will be close. With aftermarket rods it should clear just fine.
Great video but this guy need a tissues or go blow your nose. 🤧
you have a cold. It sounds like your nose is running
Sadly I had to stop watching, otherwise it looks legit.
Doesn't look too hard to do.
It's just time consuming, give it a try some time.
A long ass video of you doing absolutely nothing besides talking
Great video! I’m looking into doing something similar and this info is very helpful. Any updates?
