I just managed to beat Absolute Radiance on radiant, meaning I beat her without taking a single hit. This was so hard and I’ve beaten every boss on Radiant. It wasn’t easy at all. I used Grubberfly’s elegy, which really helps when one hit means you’re dead anyways. This was pure torture.
My 3 favs are sisters of battle, and hornet protector. When I came across these hornet and the mantis lords for the first time, every death felt like my fault, not some bullshit reason like brooding mawlek. Both bosses feel so smooth to fight for the first time, I remember dying at the first mantis multiple times, slowly improving. I also love sheo, the readable attacks with the paintbrush is great, I also love how the arena gets painted
Grey Prince Zote is so good at being hateable. His attacks feel like he's flailing around and happening to attack you, and you know that in reality he's pathetic. He's managed to manipulate Bretta so hard that in her imagination he does multiple times more damage than Radiance itself.
One of the things I like about this type of videos is that they make me more excited about what the battles and bosses of silksong will be like, since seeing that everything in that game is built to be much faster and more dynamic, seeing what has happened. learning team cherry about battle creation, and also seeing that the bosses that have been shown so far look amazing, it makes me more excited every day, I am so looking forward to it😫
Pure vessel is easily my favorite of this game. You've spent hours trying over and over again in the pantheon of hallownest, and after 40 bosses, you find a younger and stronger version of the games final boss. Instead of fighting a corrupted vessel for the infection, you battle against an empty vessel for the void, it feels like fighting a hostile refñection of yourself.
Againt pure vessel. One thing that can help you is something you mentioned. That the shadow dash cooldown is to slow to dodge the next attack. Actually, you can find the rhythm with enough practice that it will actually be available again to dodge the next attack. Its been 2 years so i dont remember how exactly tho lol. I just know when i figured it out it changed the fight permanently for me.
grimm is honestly one of my favourite bosses in all of gaming, i never thought that a boss who is basically identical to another one despite some tweaks could be so good!
Ranking Watcher Knights 32nd and No Eyes 14th? I'm not saying I'm even remotely agreeing but it really shows that its your genuine opinion and not a video to please us HK fans!
I remember struggling with Pure Vessel so much as well, but after a lot of practice, I managed to get to a point where I could beat him consistently on radiant, and I'm sure you'll be able to as well!
My favorite boss is Pure Vessel, because it is a rare case in which it brings together EVERYTHING that I like and enjoy about a boss, the lore, the atmosphere, the ost, the feels, the difficulty, and above all, the sheer the satisfaction that it gives me just to see pure vessel fight, it is pure adrenaline from beginning to end. And maybe a hot take, but the only reason why the battle sisters are my top 3 and not higher is because even though they are for me the most fun battle in the game, every time the first mantis leaves and the others give me a somewhat ¿uncomfortable feeling? as if my adrenaline suddenly shut off and I started making silly mistakes, but it's just my problem, few bosses have the merit that the mantis have
Absolutely loved this three part series. Watched them while on lunch at work throughout the week! Surprisingly my top three is probably the inverse of yours, although I’m still working on beating P5 so absrad could potentially take that place (I doubt it) I vastly prefer seeing people’s opinions on boss quality vs difficulty. Makes for more interesting arguments other than “this boss slapped my nutsack” Can’t wait for Silksong’s bosses!
I love the dung defender I love with desolate dive you can cheese the fight whenever he unground it forces him up also in the air you can juggle him if you good enough overall a fun fight not what I was expecting in a sewer level
I may not agree with every ranking across the list, but those top 3 were all but guaranteed. I'd be curious where you'd slot in the boss fights from the Pale Court mod, if you've gotten to play it. It's so well done it really does feel like a new DLC.
Zote the mighty was so powerful that he doesn’t even make this list. After all why even bother watching if you already know who number 1 is. Great vid 👍
NKG took me over 200 attempts on my first-ever playthrough... I proceeded keep fighting him in Godhome until I beat Radiant, because I knew I’d never get the muscle memory that good again.
Absolute radiance will always be the hardest boss ive ever fought. I mean i practice against malenia 1000 times im not dying anymore. With AR tho the best i could ever do was 3/10 wins. That is crazy that a boss can be that hard even after i have beat it without getting hit lol
when it comes to the absolute radiance fight, its the boss thats very hard to learn simply because of its mixing of attack rng which is hard to get used to (my least favorite combo is the pillar of light mixed with the falling spikes, i mean how can u counter that) After fighting absolute radiance youll eventually learn a rhythm for it, which will eventually let you beat pantheon five, if your attack rng isnt bad In my opinion absolute radiance is harder than a boss like sword saint isshin, but thats because at least in sword saint isshin you should of mastered parrying and mikiri counters to have the rhythm of the fight figured out, whereas with absolute radiance, not only do you have to beat many bosses in a row to eventually unlock the practice boss fight, but you also just have to learn the fight individually, while all your past experience with the bosses will help you, i would be genuinely shocked if you could beat it first try Good Video
PV, like many, is my fav, it took me 2 tries after beating him ascended to beat him on radiant, since you take 4 damage from him and I just wasn't getting hit that often, he just feels like a tighter, harder, better, nkg to me
I beat Absrad on my second attempt in the pantheon(after hours of practice in the hall of gods). She is a boss that I loved more and more the better I got.
No-Eyes in the top 15 is wild to me; that's a bottom 5 fight imo. Exactly one attack and having to chase her around? Yuck. Meanwhile Watcher Knights is one of my favorites. Fun list!
Pure Vessel is definitely better than NKG and Sisters of Battle for me. Sisters of Battle has a very big flaw: The beginning and ending of the fight. It's so jarring fighting only two Mantis Lords after beating one of them. The fight is only fun for 50% of the match, when one of them goes down, it slows down way too much. NKG doesn't really have a big flaw, but when you have already mastered the fight, it becomes very repetitive. He only has a few attacks for the entire fight, and after fighting someone as fast as Pure Vessel, they seem in slow motion Pure Vessel on the other hand doesn't suffer from those flaws, he's pure adrenaline from start to finish, he's not predictable, and he gains new attacks through the fight.
My favourite fight is the Broken Vessel/Lost Kin. This fight just hits me in the feels. The music hits me in the feels. I love this little guy I'm also more a Hollow Knight fan than Pure Vessel, still love this one so much. Happy to see No Eyes getting the love she deserves ! Truly a refreshing fight with such an unique atmosphere
Haven't beaten AbsRad, Pure Vessel or SoB yet so can't comment on those, but god I love NKG so much. I admit I'm a pretty irritable person and if a boss takes me too many tries I get very frustrated, but that NEVER happened with Nightmare King Grimm. Every time I was hit I knew it was my fault, and with every try I felt myself getting better at the fight until I beat him. To me the best fights are the ones that feel super rhythmic, and NKG encapsulates that feeling perfectly for me. I think that might be part of the reason why Nameless Puppet and Scrapped Watchman are my favorite Lies of P bosses
We have the same top 3 just in a different order so chef’s kiss to your choices. My personal favorite is Pure Vessel and it’s exactly because of your Artorias comment (same thing I thought when I fought him so I’m glad you brought it up). It truly feels like I’m fighting THE BEST warrior in all of Hollow Nest and it takes my best effort every single time. I feel like I have the Sisters of Battle and NKG down pat at this point (both incredible fights) but I always need to be on my toes with Pure Vessel. Plus, his OST is incredible. When you come in and the music starts with the bells and the choir…I get goosebumps every time. Great video!!!
The sad part about Hollow Knight as a trophy hunter is that the platinum trophy is locked behind the Absolute Radiance and the Pantheon of Hallownest. I'm just not good enough but I love Hollow Knight so much :(
It's honestly not worth it. I spent over 120 hours just in the pantheons, and over 60 hours practicing the final pantheon. Over a 500 fights against AR in the hall of God's and still could only beat him 3/10 times. I finally beat it for the platinum and felt zero joy lol.
I've already critiqued you're rankings before, and him here to do it again. Of course, I love you're stuff, keep making videos my friend! However, I still get an opinion right? For me, every redone boss is worse than the original form, with a few exceptions. For example, as good as mantis lords is, I will always prefer sisters of battle, because sisters of battle. However, bosses like white defender feel like they don't add a lot to the boss. Most refights in hollow knight take the original fight and make it faster. This is especially true for the dream refights. The regular ones add a bit more, hornet sentinel for example, has the thread thingies... However, white defender only gets 2 or 3 new attacks, and their not that interesting. I like that they change how you fight the boss, and they 100% make it harder, but sometimes it just feels obnoxious. However, the biggest folly of this refight, is the loss of build up. Build up is a very powerful tool, it helps bosses like the Mantis lords, Hornet, Hollow knight, and a few others few extremely special. However, as a refight, white defender doesn't have any of the buildup the dung defender did. The "atmosphere" of dung defender is better than white defender's in my opinion, since the area it's found in is much smaller. To summarize, like most refights, white defender has to similar of a moveset to the original fight. Meaning, the sacrifice of buildup isn't enough to redeem it. Not a bad boss I suppose, but I would put dung defender above it. The same goes for pretty much every other refight in the game, like lost kin and broken vessel. Of course, this isn't always true. NKG and Pure vessel are some of my favorite fights in the game, despite being refights. Also, I might put hornet higher. Purely because of the challenge. False knight might kill you a few times, but any slightly seasoned player can likely make quick work of it. However, even a good player could easily have a challenge with hornet. She's kind of like say, margit in elden ring. Nothing else in the game had been so hard up until that first boss fight. Hornet has stuck with me, her refight is incredibly difficult- to no hit. Not to beat, shes a free fight otherwise. However, the original fight has sentimental value with me. Especially considering the mothwing cloak you get from it. An ability you love and need for the rest of the game. But thats just a theory, a GAME THEO- *gets copyrighted and ******* dies*
I remember the Billy S from a few months ago would respond or at least like as many comments as he could. It seems like ever since he passed the 10k subscribers number he was aiming for he no longer feels the need to. Feels bad to see the fame getting to him so early into his upcoming career on RUclips
out of every boss in the game lost kin might be the most satisfying dance in the whole game with good positioning and shade soul management to take care of the infection balloons and get double hits on the kin while at it is extremely satisfying the fight can be really fun and doesn't drag on for too long even with 0 upgrade nail and only the vengeful spirit instead of shade soul Definitely the entry I disagree the most is gray prince zote, he is the only boss in the game I don't have the patience to hitless. Markoth? sure. NKG, pure vessel, absrab? sure. literally everyone else but zote? sure. He is an alright boss with strong personality and decently fun moveset but I feel like how infuriating he is to try to hitless shows how he's just not that fun to fight to me. Every attempt feels far more luck based than almost any other boss, even absolute radiance I could consistently get into the rhythm and decimate the health of the first phase and dodge my way through the rest but zote dying to him the deaths feel far less earned by the game than the other bosses I consider difficult.
Yes, the lore and music of no-eyes are good, but that does not at all salvage the worst attack in the game which also happens to be the only attack of the fight. How? I have to repeat myself here, but just how? How did no-eyes make it above some of the best fights in the game. The only fight that I agree with in this ranking are Sheo, who is massivly underrated by most people, and the nightmare king. Good videos though. I always enjoy watching yours and it would be an understatement to say that they make my day. Thank you.

You can definitely shade cloak through every single pure vessel attack except for void tendrils. That’s how I radianted him.
