Kishore Ravi maybe and I have take back my comment/ statement, it’s certainly not polished theatre but devised collaborative theatre is no walk in the park either
S Scholex No. David Lynch intentionally tries to create dreamscapes that try to engage the audience with at times surrealist imagery. Brecht does not try to engage. He actively works against the creation of a bond between audience and characters. While some of Lynch‘s characters lack emotional complexity in most of his œuvre you will find characters that are obviously meant to be relatable to some extent. Twin Peaks: The Return lacks such a character for a large junk of its runtime, but it doesn’t intentionally alienate the audience with demonstrating its existence as a fictitious story and its nature as a film, while it was important to Brecht to never be illusive enough to let the audience forget they were watching a play.
Jakob Wernisch Lynch’s influences are the surrealistic cinema of Maya Deren and Jean Cocteau, and the fusion of painting and sound, feeling his way to a structure. He sees himself as apolitical, the antithesis of everything Brecht is. His characters aren’t realistic (except in The Elephant Man or The Straight Story, the only films Lynch didn’t write himself), but are more to do with exploring the subconscious, rather than for political or intellectual purposes. In terms of Brechtian cinema, one would look to someone like Lindsay Anderson, in his films “if...” or “O Lucky Man.”

ah yes, a video about theatre: where the people read off of scripts instead of knowing their lines.
They got actors to do a cold reading, they didn't know the script before hand lmaoo they were performing extracts
It's highly Brechtian, this is sort of the point.

1:10 HE IS READING OFF A SCRIPT? THAT'S CHEATING!!! HE SHOULD HAVE LEARNED HIS LINES.
I'm reading your comment for the third time in 3 three months and it still knocks my ribs...
You're hilarious XD but so right

That Tony Kushner is cool. I could marry him. Where do I sign? Where do I sign?!...

Where do you sign? On the consent for a sex change operation
i kinda like their pretensions and haughty English way... but it's "a bitter-sweet symphony," isn't it, then?
Watching this in class full blast in a cover lesson
The subtitles did the girl with the lisp dirty
Ollie3196 Gaming how come? The subtitles seem fine to me?
She’s deaf, she doesn’t have a lisp.
what is the piece for string quartet that underscores the beginning?
Prelude by Duke Special (the bit at the start starts at about 1 minute 55 seconds)
Years ago, the very idea of Brecht was physically nauseating, with age he has grown on me
