It sucks they limited these so much with horrible stock tires. I guess they figure we will change them almost immediately anyway. Hopefully my torque beast will get here before I have to go to work. The stock motor does not like extra weight on mine. Wish I ordered the big block, but I thought it was the size of the 50 motors, so I got the torque 30. I did a full treal brass upgrade, and its amazing how much the rig can lean before tipping.
What a ripper! Drove Kraigs for the first time. He put on the mofo monster truck wheels and they look awesome! Needs just a touch of trimming on the fenders for steering but it looks rad!
I enjoy your videos out of many ive watched. I am a new newbie and would love basic basic videos to learn from. for instance, how to setup shocks. its get confusing when you open the pack and there are several different ball joint links, washers, gaskets, etc. im lost! can you help? maybe a series of basic instructions of each subject (control arms, tires mounting, shock setup, etc
That’s pretty cool, might have to get me a big black, yeah Nick is awesome dude he takes care of you. Will catch on the next one, have you seen the new grim reaper the new FCX 24 power wagon yeah it’s all black and purple rimsMines on the way
i always do a slow break in on my motors I'm old skool. thanks for the information and eagerly awaiting the max smasher 2fmrc video. i used your discount code and got my moforc big block this week. thanks Sir!
Sweet! Yeah I used to do that quite a bit with some slash trucks I had but anymore I just slap them in and go lol. Hopefully I can get a vid up in a couple days on the Max Smasher!
I´ve been thinking about buying the PN Racing SCX24 90 Turn Ball Bearing 130 Motor. I saw a comparison on youtube and I got the feeling it's the fastest (no idea about the torque... if you also have one of those, it would be interesting to see a head to head with the fast FMS, mofo and PN
Yeah I haven’t ran a pn motor yet. Never bought one for the scx24 but wouldn’t mind checking it out sometime. Honestly I think the best motor for speed is the $6 motor from eBay. None of these have a chance against it lol
Which pinion did you use for the fcx24. Is it the same as the scx24 .3 or scx24 .5. MofoRC said he wasnt entirely sure which pinion would work with the fcx. This is my first fcx24 just looking at upgrades, collecting information.
No the fcx24 gears are an odd .4 mod. Very hard to come by. I used the stock pinion but it’s very tough to remove. I ordered several others for future mods from China but they took a good month to get I’d say. That’s the only place I’ve found any though.
nice comparison! the PN Racing 90T (for the SCX24) is supposedly a direct bolt on as well (same motor size), and should be a great option (by reputation, they're the best brushed motor for the scx24, iirc). that could also be a fun comparison (and easier to source and get in the USA than here in Europistan :)) i've also seen a supposedly upgraded motor on Fairrc (probably the one "advertised" as a hopup on the box) and some (not sure if the same. probably yes) have become available on aliexpress.
Yeah, it should bolt right in. I haven't liked mine in my SCX24. I got the upgraded magnets for it, too. It doesn't have very much speed, but worse, it doesn't have much power. And I should say didn't, because it just stopped working today. Other people seem to have better luck, though. Also, it ended up costing me the same as a brushless motor would, although the brushless ESC would still be needed.
@@mr.dillpickle well yeah, the brushless cost isn't in the motor, but everything else :) anyway, i haven't tried a PN90T yet, but some folks have said it did have more speed and torque than stock and considering it's a straight bolt on, it's a similar cost to what's currently available as alternatives i wanted to buy two, one for a FCX24, and one for a Mogrich, but there's literally two places in the EU that have it, and one is out of stock, and the other has only one (and i don't want to pay that much shipping for just one motor :))
@@praetor47 For sure better than stock. But, there are some other great motor upgrades that cost a lot less. On the FCX24 and Mogrich, I bet it is a good upgrade.
@@mr.dillpickle for the SCX24 it absolutely doesn't make sense, imo, 'cause you need a new motor mount, new gears etc, so it's quite a bit (over 70$ here in europe, plus shipping). on the FCX24 it's just the motor, so it's 15$ (plus shipping), which is in line with others. we'll see once i find some in stock :D
Hey Matt. Will you do a video comparing all injora 1.0 tires or at least 10 or 7 best please. Also before for me what is your favorite 1 or 2 injora tires...Super swamper?? Mud terrain. Oh, this is for FCX24...can you tell me top 3 😁
Matt which pinion size did you get from Mofo? I'm only seeing options that include an scx24 motor plate on their website? Just curious as this looks like a good budget drop in option if the stocker dies!
I got the pinion from FairRc. Really the only place to get the fcx24 pinions. They are an odd mod 4. There are some on aliexpress also but I usually just grab the stocks off FairRc. Here’s the one I used. shrsl.com/3qkqz
I'm trying to turn my scx 24 gladiator into a faster truck for offroading/trailing. Probably going to get a ultra 24 kit for it eventually. Can I buy just the motor or do I need a mod.3 or mod.5 with motor plate?
@@riggslong1817 yeah the pinion that comes on the motor is a mod 4 which is very odd but you can just remove it and install the mod 3 or 5 depending on what you have in your Scx24. Easiest way to remove the brass pinion that is included on the motor is probably to just crush it in a vise lol
I’m pretty sure I have one in a box that just arrived today. Not home to check it but hopefully I can check it out tomorrow. If there is one in there I’ll try to get it installed soon!
Anything you can put in these that are not FMS parts is an upgrade. FMS fought and won being able to send me a defective ESC, keep the money, and not send a working one. They would not even send a new order I paid for saying the one I have is good. They first asked if I wanted it sent now or after the arbitration for the first one was settled and that they would respect either decision I made. I said to send it now and they refused (this is a new payment and they were holding that money) I had to make a claim against them to get that payment reimbursed. They are thieves and liars too. I eventually found one on FairRC (with shipping $32 instead of $60 too) and when it got here it worked like a charm. FMS won the battle to rip me off according to PayPal, but I also have my bank, econsumer, and the FTC to try. If I could be responsible for them being barred from doing business in the United States I would feel no remorse. This is a company that should not exist at all. The next case against them will be a criminal case.
This seems like a great option for my magnum build , just need to find out if it will work with the single speed transmission.
Look at that wheel speed, that is awesome!
I bet this would be a nice motor as well for the smasher..I've been wanting a bit more speed but nothing as crazy as the speed motor.

nice upgrade. I am surprised you didnt compare it to the $6 motor.
It’s nowhere near that fast lol
@@2fmrc really..it was pulling donuts just like the big block is...mine is a lot faster than the std fcx motor.
Note, the $6 motor link is not right, goes to 6-12v motor. I try to use it but it was no good, voltage drop was a issues and low power
I just removed the link from this video. They changed the listing awhile back. Thought I had deleted the links but guess not.
