I can genuinely say that I wholeheartedly recommend people spend money on Rimworld. It's rare to see game devs that still care about their product and fanbase as much as Tynan does.

@@whatinth3world - I surprisingly have Skye show up on my maps with a regularity. I always recruit if she's not a total drain, since her traits can be a little variable. I've gotten annoying voice and abrasive before, which can be accommodated fairly well. Always happy to have a good shooter.
I do love free stuff... love this game, too. So... Regarding that first quest: you can launch the shuttle the moment the noble enters it to complete the quest.
If you check out the new Harmony mod (which is needed for HugsLib now) you can get a very detailed description of what modders are going through. Big/deep ones like Hospitality are going to be a while. A hoard of less integrated/more surface level mods are already updated, which is impressive!
I've been like two seasons in with my bows and arrows and i got a quest, where those mechanoid clusters spawned every 8 hours or so. They gave me 4 ppl to deal with it, but also these ppl had needs. After two days i had to quit and reload the game before accepting the quest, because the four guardians went crazy (they had to guard seven squierrels). It doesn't feel really balanced atm
@@TheUchi1991 that is like opening an ancient danger when you first start and being angry when 6 mechs wipe out your 3 man wooden bow tribe, you learn when to accept and challenge certain quests.

Your videos got me back to playing Rimworld a couple of weeks ago, and now I can watch this series while I wait for those must have mods to be updated.
I played in this biome before and wood is really really hard to come by. I'm panicking watching you use up your wood because you won't get more for a long time. The only wood you can get is red wood and you can't do some things with it due to it being a mod (things that *require* wood that you can't change the material of and floors for example). Also, watch out for the animals in this biome because the infected aerofleet does a lot of acid damage upon death and I found that my colonists often ended up getting brain scars from it. Oh and your carnivorous animals really like to hunt for them and end up getting brain damage which is always fun.
It's at times like this I love the Glitterworld Technology mod. There's a Neuroscience tech that allows you to use Glitterworld Medicine to heal scars and brain injuries.
Just wanted to point out the not being able to do many things with red wood is intentional, I could have added it as an ingredient to fires, for example, if I had wanted ;) Wood is a limitation in this biome, though not as much as it is in the Mycotic Jungle

I think the tongue-in-cheek joke about this biome is that it is called "Ocular Forest" and has eyes all over, but is by far such a very busy tileset that it contrasts heavily with the vanilla ones, which were mostly designed for simplicity/visibility.

Hey Deco, When you send the noble to the ship you are able to click on the ship and launch it right then. You don't have to wait for the count down. The count down is just so if they got hurt during the attack you would be able to heal them and such.
Yay a new series Hurrah. Also started a 1.1 Run and a lot of quality mods seem to be working Deco. Although I dont know if you want to add mods to this series. Loving the videos

"You [Neos] don't even have a weapon". She has more psychic abilities than the whole colony combined. "Burden" especially is helpful in situation like this. If monkey were sloved there'd be no need to melee the monkey and risk injuries.
You need to tame Infected Aerofleets and use them as suicide animals. They breed exponentially and deal acidic damage on exploding, which keeps damaging enemies repeatedly through armor. Very powerful and can save you easily.
Always enjoy your vids Deco. You always get me shouting and pointing at the screen when you lose a weapon 😁. I would love a copy of the game especially now I know the Devs are supporting it with expansions.
You know it's going to be a crazy run when the first big event is failed due to a mental break that resolves literal seconds after. I'm looking forward to the insanity of this run!
Shame you didn't go completely modless to explore which mods are now unneccessary due to built-in mechanics, but.. OK. BTW Bjorn's back on the scene & has a current 1.1+DLC playthru going; the 'royalty' mechanics look interesting both as gameplay & for his !!Science!! series, once he's become accustomed to basic changes I'm currently playing thru a vanilla (no DLC) Randy Rough 1.1 campaign to check changes.. going reasonably so far.. :)

As with many I love rimworld and I'm not opposed to spending money to help the franchise, however 1.1 just thrashed a majority of the great content mods which will now have to be reworked and Royalty DLC just seems like a lot of content from the modding community people enjoyed for free that has now been put behind a pay wall.

You can right click the "Allow" button in the Orders menu to allow everything on the map.
I have not seen any RUclipsrs know this as of yet lol

I love how many options there are in this game and that you didn't find a comfort zone to stick to for every play through.
I love the idea of a royal coming to what amounts to a stone hut like 2 days after it was built, with the gall to ask for chocolate.

Allow tool is in vanilla now! It's in orders! Also you can send the shuttles off whenever, load them and then lift off like a transport pod.
Neos "joins" the colony. "Oh you're joining the colony... oh no okay it's just temporarily." Proceeds to "Kidnap" Neos.

Just a heads up. The 'Allow Everything' ability is built into the game now. Just right click the Allow tool.
Shuttle should have a Launch button on it once the colonist gets in, so you can send it off right away.
