Amazing images yet again. I always love how old vehicles have rust everywhere, tires are flat, glass smashed up, yet the headlights always look brand new - always makes me chuckle.
Glad to see you back, like to newer content…I suppose that old saying rings true…“All things come to those who wait”. Looking forward to your next video…
Very interesting lens considering it is cheaper than the good Sigma 56mm f/1.4! I missed overview of the new AF lenses from Youngnuo, Viltrox, Meike and so on.
Love those truck shots Brother! What camera and how much post on the colors etc.? Still would love to try a Fuji system (on the A7iv currently). Love your videos Jerred! Like James Popsys and a couple others... I watch them for you and your personality vs. any particular gear you are using. Thanks for being you!
Thanks so much, my friend. These aren't too much post-processing! I have a "Stormy Skies" preset that I use in these instances to add instant drama and then just edit to taste!
@@JerredZ Looks like a great preset Jerred! Love the emotive results on those exposures. I know you've shifted gears a bit, but would love to hear a long-term review on the X_H2(s) vs. A7iv... Not much out there, and I look every week :D. Have a great weekend!
YOU GOT SOME GREAT IMAGES USING THAT CAMERA N LENS COMBO!! REALLY DIG THE TRUCK SHOTS!!! I'D LIKE TO SEE HOW THIS LENS DOES ON AN OLDER FUJI... SUCH AS THE XT2 OR XPRO1/2! GREAT REVIEW! 💯💯💯
I just got mine 2 days ago. This is by far the best cheapest lens I've ever used. I honestly can't find anything majorly wrong with it. Very minor con is that focusing speed is slightly slower than some of my other Fuji lenses. Well what do you expect from a 150 dollar lens. It's pretty much perfect.
You are spot on. Just a touch slower, right? Most of the time I don't notice, but it's there. And the quality is pretty nuts. I was just shooting with it today and it's still such a GOOD lens!
Video Unrelated. Loved your “49 Reasons” email/blog post! At 52 myself, made me laugh. Great insights and fun. Especially #6. Not being a Fuji user (yet) I love the brand loyalty that exists with it… and I agree my A7iv has no “soul”… why? I have no idea, it has everything I need and even “want” but I never want to pick it up and use it for some reason. I’ve wanted to look into getting an X-H2 or H2S for a while… recommendations? I need the form factor and personally need a 3-way variable screen. H2 low light doesn’t look that great to me, and I’ve heard the H2S is better at AF… but I’d miss the 40mp resolution I think as well. Thoughts? Thanks Jerred!
Hey!!! Sorry I just saw your message! If you ever want to email me too, do it! jerredz@gmail.com - to answer your question, the XH2/XH2s thing is a tough one. For me I sold the "s" and kept just the XH2. Although the XH2s is WAY faster and more accurate for autofocus, for what I shoot, the 40 megapixels is slightly more valuable. The resolution jump isn't as big as people think though... but it's still there. hope this helps!
@@JerredZ Thanks Jerred! That seems to be the general consensus… and I don’t know how many photos I’ve looked at on Flickr etc that I thought had to be the 40mp resolution but was the H2S. Interestingly I always noticed the 24mp on my Z6iii and it never felt like enough in that particular camera. Maybe just the different sensors? Maybe what APSC can do with 26mp versus 24 on full frame? On the fence. Wish there were a local store anywhere nearby I could go and test them side-by-side :).
@@cohoonatube Yeah, I get it! I do the same thing with 26/40 mp on the XH2s and XH2. It's why some people were saying the XH2 wsn't a true 40 megapixels, but it is! And the focus testing thing - in the store doesn't really cut it. The cameras almost always seem like they are focusing fine! The green box is amazingly on the face/eye in most things... but it just seems they can't lock it in when it's time to take the photo. Not always - sometimes it's fine - but in way too many situations you KNEW that the focus was on the eye, the green confirmation was there, and you know Sony/Canon/Nikon would nail the shot... and the Fuji is inexplicably out of focus. I'm probably making it sound worse than it is though.. just frustrating sometimes when you use other camera systems that make it seems o easy.
@@JerredZ Agree, it’s really the Achilles heel of the Fuji system at the moment. Was the same with Nikon (my Z6ii got sold b/c of the af) but Nikon finally dialed their 3D back in. A bit of a shame since the X-T1 really birthed the Milc genre… or at least was a serious catalyst.
Totally honest and say I have no clue which one I'd buy. They are so close, it's not funny. I just went in and looked at images from both... and both are great!
Found the editing pretty “ heavy” so much so that it obscured the lens performance,,,,bur I got the gist and the couple raw pics did show the lens potential

Thanks man!
Yeah this is perfectly acceptable for the money. Possibly for more than the money you pay.
Pretty hard to beat that for the price, especially considering how much more the new 56 f1.2 costs. Have a great weekend!!
Absolutely, Charlie. It's VERY nice for the price! Kind of cool we are living in an age where these options are actually awesome.
I always enjoy your vids and seeing the vehicles. Keep it up.

Impressive lens, but even more impressive is you editing work.
Thanks! 😃
The TTArtisan 56mm/f1.8 and this one seem about the same in terms of price and quality. Which one is sharper?
Both are about equal, in my book. I think it's a toss-up.

Thanks, my man! I was channeling your dark and gritty editing on a few of these, eh? I bet it would do fine with those older sensors!
