His deputies, except for Mitch, the only one with some sense and compassion for Rambo, were clueless buffoons. So the bad guys in First Blood were one-dimensional too. Spent a bit of time in Thailand, helped out some POWs and was even betrayed by some aviator wearing dudes with colorful names. All while not even getting any horizontal action with a Vietnamese honey ;) By now we all know his very "Strong" because the dude from Beverly Hills said so. It's a bit sad really, that a well travelled man doesn't get the proper recognition despite hanging out in Afghanistan, even stopping by in Cambodia and ruining the annual pedophiles convention. He even humblised some snowflakes and taught them that guns are ok! Hats of to you John J. While critics won't get you, the rest of us are rooting for you! For some, it may be about saying hello to their little friend..while for others its ok to take their lives but don't ever even think about taking their freedom....but for John, it's more than that..... "You know what you are... what you're made of. War is in your blood. Don't fight it. You didn't kill for your country. You killed for yourself. God's never gonna make that go away. When you're pushed, killing's as easy as breathing"
First Blood was a character movie with action. Rambo himself was a mental casualty of Vietnam searching for peace and normality but never finding it. He goes out searching for his Army buddies only to find they are all dead. He is alone, strained and volatile. He runs into the cops of a small town that push his buttons and he freaks out making the area into his war zone. He reverts back to what he knows, a killing machine. Col. Troutman, a father figure, has to talk him down and Rambo finally surrenders in peace. It’s a great character movie that needs other characters to be developed as well. The movie bad guys have to have their own motivations and their characters well developed. First Blood was a masterpiece of film. The second and third movie suffered from brandification. “Rambo” became a generalized term for super soldier. The movies shifted from character to action. The character of Rambo was maintained in the opening sequences but he shifted to super soldier quickly thereafter. The fourth movie started to center on his character again. Rambo comes “full circle”. He starts off cynical as usual. He is struggling with the “evils” of war within himself. He agrees to take the missionary group to the rebel camp. On the way he has to kill pirates. Why? Because that was the right thing to do in that situation. He had to do it. He learns that what he is isn’t evil. He doesn’t have to run from it. When the mercenaries need his help up stream he wants to go because his motivation is saving lives, a righteous thing. At the end Rambo goes home because he can now live with himself and what he has done. I don’t know what else can be done with the character. What more can Rambo learn or grow. He is what he will forever be at this point. Maybe Rambo can learn to love others and have family. Definitely going to be worth seeing.
The scheme of the movies is that the movies always want him to change as a person and move on but he can't. But instead of trying to run away anymore, he embraces what he is and chooses to fight. He's gonna keep fighting, till he can fight no more
ChromeFlames Excellent point about the pressure to change but not having the ability. He does have the desire to change as he tries the Buddhist monk thing. Even then he is more escaping the pressure rather than dealing with it. In the book of Rambo 2, he actually liked being in the prison. It was structured, ordered and he knew where he stood. Again it was an escape of the pressure rather than dealing with it. The original book (and the original movie ending) had Rambo commit suicide. The ultimate escape. Stallone is a master character writer. It is interesting that we can have an intelligent conversation about an action character. Rambo is really deep yet fully knowable, even if Rambo doesn’t really know himself very well. Maybe his going home at the end of 4 wasn’t him coming full circle but yet another attempt at hiding.
Rambo/Stallone is at his most badass in this movie. The only that I was disappointed in this movie is that he doesn’t says the “I’m gonna tear you apart” line when he was talking through the walkie talkie.
I seen it this past weekend. It was really good. The death scenes are so violent that it makes jason and Freddy step back and say "damn John take it easy".
I've been watching this man in theaters since I was 5 years old back in '82 with Rocky III...this man has been part of my movie going experience for most of my life.......this movie continues to prove he's one of the best action heroes ever .....ty Sly
So a film that would be a failure if it weren't ultraviolent is criticized for "too much violence" Mexican Cartels are portrayed as "Mexican Cartels" Rambo is happy and talks but that doesn't count as "something new with the character". I think I'm gonna have to give the critics 1/5 stars, judging a movie for standards it didn't set is entry level failure. What is next? LotR gets 1/5 cause it is racist to Orcs?
I came across an article the other day listing some of the critics comments and then did responses to them. Like the idea that Rambo is the white saviour of the poor Mexicans, and the guy points out that he's a native American character. 🤣
I appreciate your honest review as a fan of the franchise, and I'll probably check it out on weekday in theatres or rent it later. I actually saw the Rambo 4 movie in theatres when it came out, and holy shit it was brutal, but really fun.
IM NOT FROM 80TS .BUT MY DAD INTRODUCED ME TO RAMBO AND I NEVER LOOKED BACK TO SINCE.... LIVE FOR NOTHING OR DIE FOR SOMETHING...LOVE FROM RANCHI INDIA
I LOVE this movie! All I could think about was, "Rambo 2/3 Rambo would have killed all these assholes" During the scene where he gets beat up. Also, I would have gone back and tossed Gizelle to the traffickers, and take the bracelet as he walks away and she screams.
2:49 I know Sly is left-handed, but that's not how you're supposed to hold an RPG-7. It has sort of a "reverse" grip configuration and is intended to be fired right-handed (which is why the sights are offset to the left). Your right hand is meant to grasp the front grip, left hand grasps the rear grip. It has a hammer that's manually cocked before firing (which also acts as a safety mechanism). This was all done correctly by Jason Patric in 'The Beast' (aka 'The Beast of War') which came out in 1988. 3:04 In the commentary for either the second or third movie, Sly talks about how impractical it is to fire an M-60E3 (or any other variant) one-handed from the hip. He also fires a PKM from the hip in the third movie, but at least he uses two hands to hold it. 5:27 He's wearing an undershirt, an overshirt, and an M65 field jacket in Arizona! Isn't it, like, always hot there? "Yeah, man! But it's a dry heat!" So it looks like Southwestern summer, but he's dressed for Midwestern fall. Wouldn't that promote heatstroke? I know the M65 field jacket is iconic for warfighters of his era, but I'm thinking practically, not symbolically. 6:53 Wait, so he's right-handed?! But I read that he's left-handed! So does that mean he's ambidextrous? Not that it's a big deal or anything. Being ambidextrous would give him a significant tactical advantage. I'm just wondering why he draws his bow left-handed if he's right-handed. Maybe he's left-eye dominant. But if that were the case, he'd use firearms in a left-handed stance more often. *Note:* He suffered nerve damage to the left side of his face when he was born, which is why the right side of his mouth opens up more when he speaks or shouts. That's also why he has a speech impediment. The left side of his tongue is numb. His left eye wasn't affected by the nerve damage, though, so he might still be left-eye dominant. 7:33 Rambo seems to prefer older guns with wood furniture. If it took more than one sh0t, you weren't using a Jakobs. He also uses Torgue-like weapons, though. And Vladof, of course, since the first three movies take place during the Cold War era. Colonel Trautman was my favorite character in the first three. *Note:* We could say the M-16 is a Dahl-like gun and the AR-15 is "Dahl-lite." Technically, since the AR-15 is semi-auto-only, it's more like Jakobs than Dahl. Put aftermarket wood furniture on it to make it look more Jakobsy.
I loved the film, a very good story. Yes he turned my stomach a couple of times. But thats why we need people like this to do the unpleasant stuff that we can't. God bless john Rambo, lets hope for a 6 named dried blood. And a prequel called fresh blood , written and directed by stallone.
Rambo 6 must either be inside a prison, a psychatric clinics security tract or in a retirement house were they poison "uncomfortable" residents after this movies end. Or he will be on the streets like he said going from one place to another, while police tries to catch him. That would go circle with the first part. (There werent looking for him back then from start but after giving him a reason to loose his mind)
Yes, those promo photos you mentioned are from the opening scene of that version where Rambo was out trying to find lost hikers during a rainstorm. Excitement ensued! - Swedish fan.
While I did had a quite bit of a down beat experience walking out, I couldn't help but feel satisfied seeing Rambo mercilessly murder the ever living hell out of these scumbags, especially after everything that had happened to his niece.
It really made you realise that he's not the kiddy friendly super soldier that the 80s made him out to be. He's a savage killer and you don't wanna get on the wrong side of him.
I was actually on my way to see “Ad Astra” until I read the pantywaist uproar so I went to Rambo instead and took two guests as well. Surprisingly for a Sunday afternoon matinee it was a fairly well full audience
I saw Last Blood last night and thought it was great. Stallone was awesome in it as well as Yvette Monreal. Great plot and action. I really don't understand why the critics didn't like it. Please folks don't listen to them. Trust me this movie is really good.
Grampo: Last Blood Transfusion. I saw it yesterday. It's not the usual John Rambo, but he is 73 years old. Still a good movie. I liked it. I do think the character should be left alone now to die of old age in his rocking chair. After all the shit he went through, he deserves it. Let John find peace within himself.
The theatre that I watched the movie in played the uncut version with the rescue scene in the beginning still intact. It's sad that it got cut becouse I think it fits in with the movies theme perfectly, that being that bad things can happen to good people, that even Rambo can't save.
It was disappointing. Rambo 4 had a perfect ending, bloody massacre and he finally went home. You cant top it plus the villains were more extreme. Rambo 4 was just so brutal and it didn't give a f**k. Rambo 5 is weakest sequel that's for sure.
Thanks for the review Oliver! I couldn't agree more with it. These movies are rated R for a reason, they're not for the kids. I thought the film was a little to short but thoroughly entertaining. I even thought the two brother bad guys worked really well together and wished they had some more screen time before the finale. Over all it was a kick ass in your face action movie. Long live Rambo!
I was a teenager when First Blood came out and loved it, even though,I feel, some of its thunder was silenced due to Viet Nam being a common theme in Hollywood at the time. Today, Rambo IV, is by far my favourite. Sly's supporting cast were memorable, it was fast paced and the violence was second to none. Haven't seen the latest one yet, but I already know I'm going to enjoy it, thanks to the critics' comments coming out of "left" field. Thankfully, there are still writers and producers in Hollywood still thinking for themselves. Here is the version the "woke" critics would have drooled over. Sly's name would change to Jussie Rambette, a drag queen, who sets out to teach a group of white, single, middle-aged men the true meaning of social acceptance, through song and dance. The only violence in the whole picture would be the ending, when all the white guys simultaneously jump off a cliff to their death.
Good old times are long gone as in life-that so in the movies industry. We are not going to see good movies anymore, as it became just money grab at this point, and that's it. Only good movies that I've watched in years is John Wick. There are good films out there, but 95% are pure shit, and money grab. 70s,80s,90s are gone. I really didn't expect anything good from this movie tbh.
Good movies still get made, the problem is that they get overshadowed by everything else and you have to actively look for them. Stop watching stuff made by big studios like Disney and WB.
I'm so sick of liberal/Disney/ PG-13, politically correct movies. I've started me a collection of every classic hit . They've turned all movies into propaganda and brainwashing.
I'm a forty something who grew up with the franchise and I thought it was OK. Certainly not bad, but definitely not the best. I wasn't completely invested in Rambo's links and relationship to Gabriella (but to be fair, Rambo sailed into Burma for lesser folk.) I hated the journalist character/storyline with a passion. She should've been crucified by the Martinez's for sure once she started snooping. John could've stitched himself up. Whilst it was great to see the green jacket back and that vast arsenal, I couldn't help feeling that John had lost some of his brooding and that, (coupled with the haircut I suppose ) felt like I wasn't quite watching a Rambo movie. That said, the final act got me back on track and chuckling with glee as the cartel met their match and maker. Truly great stuff, even loving the cassette recorder idea in the tunnels blasting out that Doors song. Pure, unashamed 80's cheese was back! 6/10
Watched it in a nearly empty cinema and it was a blast - really got me pumped. Hats off to Sly for putting out such a ferocious movie at his rather ripe age. Nonetheless I prefer part III back from the 80ies when one could "afford" to wear rose tinted glasses concerning world affairs. There's of course some style issues in Last Blood I didn't like, but I'm nonetheless happy that the movie out the way it did.
*spoilers ahead* My biggest gripe are the villains. There are only two interesting villains, the two brothers in charge of the cartel/sextrafficking ring. Of which the one you'd love to hate, kicks the bucket first, leaving the blander brother for last (kinda like Vaas in Far Cry 3) The other issue, is that they introduce their luitenants/inner circle, but they kinda get lost in the carnage at the end (and I'm not even sure if they're the cannon fodder in the finale) Now mind you, this movie does what it sets out to do, and it does it well, but I feel the movie would have been more wholesome if it would have given the villains a bit more space, and maybe have let Rambo wreak more havoc in Mexico before the finale. Although with the latter, the movie would have run the risk to fall into Rambo 3 territory: all out over the top war, while this set up keeps the focus on John Rambo and his inability to deal with his emotions and demons and how he eventually gives them an outlet. . There's still bombastic action and violence, but it's well dosed, which keeps the story As silly as this may sound: it keeps the movie more intimate.
I am Mexican and I can say that here in Mexico there is more violence even that in the movie the narcos (cartels) have massacred children women and adults there are even videos of narcos taking the hearts of children or breaking up women in pieces,
I was disappointed, particularly with how much I enjoyed 4. SPOILERS DO NOT READ IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO KNOW: Rambo going walking up to the cartel was a gob smacker. I'm thinking, this is going to be good! I wonder what he has planned! Erm, nothing. He had no plan. Later, he goes back for revenge and it is awesome. But that is what should have happened in the first place. Then, back at the ranch, the bad guys, once they realized the place was set up for them should have just said, "nope" and turned around and gone home pending other opportunities. They had no motivation to go on. Then it gets "Die Hard 2" disease. Like McLain in that movie, Rambo is pretty much spotless by the end of the fight but only gets hurt in the last second because it is in the script. It felt pretty hollow. With better writing, this could have been the Logan of Rambo movies. Instead it was Comando but not as good.
Lol....I was thinking the same thing, like ok....the whore house , what happened at the house .... What happened at the start of the ranch....why you wanna fool with this man , just call it even Steven and go back to MEXICO 😂😂😂
@@mrqh406 I did not add into the mix that even before the 1st car explodes, Rambo has decapitated 1/2 their associates back in Mexico. Yet they all act like Lemmings and into the tunnels! Can you imagine had he been protecting the 2 main women at the Ranch? That the bads were in contact with an authority saying get in there or you will wish he killed you? That we had a long drawn out siege ala Die Hard, during which, Like Batman in Arkham Asylum, he is worn down but still fighting at then end in a situation that seems hopeless? But instead we got a new version of Cobra minus the sense and fun.
Solid Review Oliver ! I too enjoyed the movie - interesting his switch from compound to recurve bow and from soldier to cowboy -Heavy machine gun to a sawn off shotgun and a Winchester Saddle Ring. Fingers crossed there will be a Last Blood part 2 to give him fitting send off.
really? I heard the opposite really that the shorter is missing some of the tougher parts in the middle as well. Can't confirm it though since I've seen the longer cut only.
@@hardnine well that makes this very peculiar situation..then it means that we have to hope for an extended & unrated cut which gives everything in one package.
Stalone actually said it's not the end for Rambo, but he want the next movie to be a prequel with a young Rambo, maybe to find his successor as the character?
First Blood and Rambo (2008) are straight up classics within the genre in my opinion. One of the cool things about the Rambo series is that they have to be seen on the big screen because the action set pieces have scope to them. So going into this one I was super pumped and shockingly I left really disappointed. This one felt and looked like a Redbox rental. It was a tough sit to get through even at 89 minutes.
Nice review as always, Oliver. Funny you should mention about the alternate opening of the film been removed from the US and UK cuts. That's a shame, since it's one of the best scenes from the movie. I live in Spain and went to see it last night. The scene where Rambo is trying to help rescue the lost hikers is very well done and given the amount of graffic violence that's in the rest of the movie, I cannot understand, for the life of me, why they would remove that particular scene. Stupid, if you ask me.
You can also see some character development there. Rambo felt devastated when he could not save those people. That opening sets the tone of the movie perfectly. It's a crime that they cut that opening in most countries.
I also miss the glory days when action was made for adults. This is a basic plot wrapped with a great central performance, peppered with some heart(!) and soul. I hope they do make another one. Rambo is the last of the great icons left from the 80s I still enjoy. Die Hard and Terminator have lost their way.
I saw the film , it’s a revenge with brutal action ... I had a good time watching it , the film is not heavy , does not screw up , and goes to the point.
Rambo's longevity has always been hindered by a lack of supporting characters, especially recurring ones. Now if say, Colonel Trautmann had a son or grandson get taken by terrorists or something, there could be more emotional weight, even if it is rehashing a plot. It could work. I love Rambo, but he has to carry every movie pretty much alone.
On Monday, a female co-worker came by to do the typical weekend chat. I asked how it was and she remembered abruptly, "Oh I took my youngest daughter to see Rambo. I was hesitant, because I wanted to watch football, but she's a big Stallone fan. It's awesome, you need to go check it out!" I told her about the poor critical response, some saying it was racist to depict most of the Mexicans as bad guys. She rolled her eyes. "I know about these Cartels. There are some evil people in Mexico, someone has to be the bad guy!" Her family originally came from Mexico.
I saw the longer version in theaters, with the extra 10 minutes added in. This version begins with the flood sequence in the beginning where Rambo uses his tracking skills to help out people. I can't understand why this version of the film wasn't released everywhere because i do think it really added to the movie and it's story. It also sets up Rambo's current condition and bit of other things that are payed off later on. Personally, i found this to be a good movie! Not a masterpiece, sure, but still good. Might be even my favorite of all the sequels! Hell, i'd say it's even better than "Taken" or sure as hell better than either of the John Wick sequels. It told an incredibly violent and depressing story and it ran with it. As some people have complained how some characters aren't fleshed out enough, i think there's a reason why this movie is also called 'Rambo'. It is his story afterall. I'm also glad you pointed out Stallone's performance as Rambo in this, because i think a lot of people are gonna gloss over it otherwise. I think it's easily the best in the series after First Blood. He goes through probably the widest range of emotions the character has up to this point and just plays it all brilliantly. This is also Rambo as it's scariest i've ever seen and holy hell did i enjoy it!
Oliver that extended cut is amazing. The two big kills in the film are weaker however there is 75 percent more story and the villans get more backstory ...also the schizaphrenia from ptsd is kind of adressed...its a must watch
Might get this on DVD when it comes out. To be honest, I thought RAMBO (2008) was a perfect ending to the whole saga with him returning to his dad's ranch. Looks like this film could have been better suited to Liam Neeson as part of his TAKEN series.
I admire that he can do it at 73,

By now we all know his very "Strong" because the dude from Beverly Hills said so.
I enjoyed it. For me Stallone is just incredibly watchable. He’s a man of a different era which is missed in the modern movie landscape.
And this is whats this part is about :)
The scheme of the movies is that the movies always want him to change as a person and move on but he can't. But instead of trying to run away anymore, he embraces what he is and chooses to fight.
He's gonna keep fighting, till he can fight no more
ChromeFlames
Excellent point about the pressure to change but not having the ability.
Yep lmao!!!
It delivered on the blood and I loved it well done Stallone you went out in a high Rambo wise
I've been watching this man in theaters since I was 5 years old back in '82 with Rocky III...this man has been part of my movie going experience for most of my life.......this movie continues to prove he's one of the best action heroes ever .....ty Sly
It's a good ending to a long journey. I liked it. I love ALL of them. thank you, Sly. The last true action hero
I agree this movie was really tons of fun and badass
Mexico isn't a city unless Rambo is literally fighting people in Mexico city.
@William Hutchinson yeah... Take her to a hospital in the country... With probably a giant ass conga line of cartel boys after his ass
So a film that would be a failure if it weren't ultraviolent is criticized for "too much violence"
Mexican Cartels are portrayed as "Mexican Cartels"
Rambo is happy and talks but that doesn't count as "something new with the character".

@@skeetmalla Why couldnt the drug running cartel leader near the southern US border be Korean, British, Dutch or polish? Tsk tsk movie. 1 Star.

Well done on saying Burma and not Myanmar.
There’s nothing wrong with saying Burma, damnit!
Hey Oliver, you shouldn’t read reviews before making one.
Agree. That's the problem with critics today: groupthink.

Rambo 6: Takes on Wall street!... man, I'd love to see that!
73 years old ? Still rocking the Rambo that’s awesome!
Yes, those promo photos you mentioned are from the opening scene of that version where Rambo was out trying to find lost hikers during a rainstorm. Excitement ensued!

Rambo + Sin City's Marv + Home Alone = Rambo: Last Blood.
Dude, I thought of home alone so many times during the tunnel fight scene.

There's zero Rambo i. This Taken + Home Alone + any straight to video action movie= Last Blood
@@garym6315 I suppose, but I wouldn't recall him being merciful to whomever he killed in the previous films.

Staggeringly good movie, a non pc delight.
Well, okay then. I guess I'll be watching Rambo tommorow.
I hope you know what you're talking about. Please, this better be good.
You'll like it. Rambo kills more scum than he has in the past.
@@SuperPrince1007 you were right, great movie. All those scumbags got were they deserved.
What country are you from because the UK and US didn't get that scene
Holds the award for - The most savage kills in movie history
John Rambo
It was disappointing. Rambo 4 had a perfect ending, bloody massacre and he finally went home. You cant top it plus the villains were more extreme. Rambo 4 was just so brutal and it didn't give a f**k. Rambo 5 is weakest sequel that's for sure.
if Rambo offends you then it's not the movie for you
Thanks for the review Oliver!
After watching this movie it makes
John Wick look like Super Saiyan and
Rambo last blood going Ultra instinct!!
Keanu reaves is a fighter in movies but not ferocious like Stallone dude is a lion backed into a corner and the claws come out
I was a teenager when First Blood came out and loved it, even though,I feel, some of its thunder was silenced due to Viet Nam being a common theme in Hollywood at the time.
@@joseph2219801 Exacylu. Nowadays movies are presenting just that.
*spoilers ahead*
My biggest gripe are the villains.
There are only two interesting villains, the two brothers in charge of the cartel/sextrafficking ring.
Of which the one you'd love to hate, kicks the bucket first, leaving the blander brother for last (kinda like Vaas in Far Cry 3)
The other issue, is that they introduce their luitenants/inner circle, but they kinda get lost in the carnage at the end (and I'm not even sure if they're the cannon fodder in the finale)
Now mind you, this movie does what it sets out to do, and it does it well, but I feel the movie would have been more wholesome if it would have given the villains a bit more space, and maybe have let Rambo wreak more havoc in Mexico before the finale.
TV Adds were everywhere in North America.
Kinda Shock that they didn’t get Sheldon Lettich to write Rambo Last Blood.
Enjoyed the film but it could have been just a film with him in it, it didn't need to be a rambo film
Watched it yesterday and really enjoyed it..it needed to be 10 to 15 mins longer..the girlyman critics can go jump off a cliff
I felt the same way, that it could have been a touch longer. That and the last fight should have been longer.
AGREEEEEE
I’m an American citizen, of Hispanic/Latino descent and I loved it. I’m tired of the media being offended for me.
It was hilariously ridiculously violent but I enjoyed it
I am Mexican and I can say that here in Mexico there is more violence even that in the movie the narcos (cartels) have massacred children women and adults there are even videos of narcos taking the hearts of children or breaking up women in pieces,
Loved this movie..that final confrontation really had "heart"
It's dark as hell and the surprise death really is a surprise. But it's really good
What surprise death do you mean his niece? Because Rambo didn’t die.
Had Stallone directed this movie, could it have been any better?
Definitely, he did a good job directing before. Needed a few more action sequences.
@@JmanRising Agreed!
I'm amazed he didn't.
What happened to your Fix It In Post series?
The first review that I actually agree with. Nicely put.
This was a fine movie that I wished was called something else. Didn't feel like a Rambo movie. For me First Blood and 4 are all you really need.
Oliver did you know the longer cut also has the violence toned down?
really? I heard the opposite really that the shorter is missing some of the tougher parts in the middle as well. Can't confirm it though since I've seen the longer cut only.
@@TonyZi i have seen both cuts..the longer cut is definitely toned down..you can watch it online but its horrible cam quality
@@hardnine well that makes this very peculiar situation..then it means that we have to hope for an extended & unrated cut which gives everything in one package.
i watched the one with the hurricane sequence. What parts where trimmed in this version?
Stalone actually said it's not the end for Rambo, but he want the next movie to be a prequel with a young Rambo, maybe to find his successor as the character?
First Blood and Rambo (2008) are straight up classics within the genre in my opinion. One of the cool things about the Rambo series is that they have to be seen on the big screen because the action set pieces have scope to them. So going into this one I was super pumped and shockingly I left really disappointed. This one felt and looked like a Redbox rental. It was a tough sit to get through even at 89 minutes.
I was pleased with this movie. It delivered exactly what i expected and it was satisfying
Stallone's legendary representation of John Rambo can never be replaced.
I’ll be honest.... First Blood should have been the only Rambo film...
All of them were good. The third had some clunky dialog but still entertaining.
I can't believe the UK and USA got a shorter version!! Yes, we Aussies got an opening scene of him "saving" hikers at night in a huge flood.
I saw the film , it’s a revenge with brutal action ... I had a good time watching it , the film is not heavy , does not screw up , and goes to the point.
Was searching for a complete, honest review of Rambo: Last Blood(which I saw today). I finally found it.
Our German Cut (saw it today at DOLBY CINEMA) is 101 uncut the first 10 min rescue at the mountain is the missing scenes in the US UK
Saw it at the cinema yesterday with my friend - both of us loved it, VERY violent 🤘🤘
Finally a review who understands what Rambo is all about!!
There are some evil people in Mexico, someone has to be the bad guy!"
Her family originally came from Mexico.
Apologies if this is already mentioned...
Just came out of an Australian screening. The nighttime flood scene opens the film here. Loved it btw.
God dammit that score... i Had goosebumps throughout your review because you keep playing it in the background... it's just to epic for me to handle.

Oliver that extended cut is amazing. The two big kills in the film are weaker however there is 75 percent more story and the villans get more backstory ...also the schizaphrenia from ptsd is kind of adressed...its a must watch
Thank you for an honest review of the film. Excellent work.
I live in Australia, and would like to assure Britain and the USA that they weren't missing anything with the shorter cut.
Might get this on DVD when it comes out. To be honest, I thought RAMBO (2008) was a perfect ending to the whole saga with him returning to his dad's ranch. Looks like this film could have been better suited to Liam Neeson as part of his TAKEN series.
Nice to see you again I like your reviews 🙏
Long live the Rambo Character
the tv spots over here in Australia are very odd, footage from Rambo 1, 2, 3, & 4 with Colonel Trautman's dialogue from "first blood"
