I agree completely about the illustrations on e-zscapes. I always prefer an actual photo over an illustration. Your videos are consistently helpful in so many ways. I appreciate your plant knowledge and honesty.
My plant addiction is so bad I almost didn't watch this because I thought I'd be too tempted to go buy more flowers. But I can't stop myself from watching every time a video comes out and I'm so glad because the lungwort hostas are a must for me next yr. I have a bunch of hosta varieties but not those. I'm going to grab extra for my neighbors who I know don't have these kinds either. The flowers are so pretty. The ideas you have given me for plant combinations have me so excited for next yr that I have an excel spreadsheet I've created with categories of perennials, annuals, sun and shade. I mark the ones I absolutely have to get, ones that like fertilizer and dont and so on. The education you provide has not only made me a better gardener, but has made gardening so much easier. You'd think fertilizing, watering and doing maintenance on plants would keep you too busy, but being on a schedule, and understanding the needs of each plant has allowed me to have more free time than precious summers because of the education you provide. Thank you so much for continuing to provide us with such helpful insights.
Sounds like you’re on the right track! I think you deserve a bonus plant for each one you give to a neighbor 😀 FYI - lungwort is a pulmonaria - it’s usually in the same section as hostas at the garden center.
@UpNorthGardenMI well I did it again. I needed a petunia for one that. Isn't doing well (we've had so much rain) and I was able to find the pink a blue and the twinkle toes. I was so excited. I also grabbed 3 portalocka (probably spelled that wrong) because the ones on your deck looked so amazing. I truly am sending you hugs from buffalo ny. I talk about you all the time and feel like ive finally found my match. Hope one day to get to meet you on a trip to your family nursery.
I’ve been wanting to add to my shade garden which is mostly hostas. I’ve never known about lungwort, they’re quite lovely. Looking into them now - thanks!
Sometimes heuchera roots will kinda work themselves up out of the ground after the winter/ early spring😮. All you have to do is lift the entire plant out with a spade and reset it at the desired level back into the soil; no problem!

I would definitely add aralia Sun King for the shade garden. Try it!
I have Sun King in my zone 3 Manitoba garden and it’s a winner for sure! 🇨🇦🌸
Thanks so much. Great information.
Just what I needed!
