I played in the convocation center...tough place to play, I think we only won there once in 4 years. The visiting locker room was on the concourse level, so you had to walk up the aisle past fans to get there. It was unique and loud.
I live near Boone and have been to many App State basketball games and Arena Football games. The concourse is a dangerous place during games because people race their friends on the running track. Before the pandemic they would let fans go into the locker room after wins and celebrate with the team, and you also got to shoot around on the court after every game. Arena Football games were dangerous, many players got knocked out and balls flew into the stands often. But overall, it’s a fun place.
The globe inside the Mitchell Center was from the Waterman Steamship Company, and was on their headquarters in downtown Mobile from 1948 to 1973 (Wachovia Bank is in that building today). South Alabama acquired it in 1978, and it was put in the Mitchell Center when it opened in 1999.
When you run out of lists to make, you should start doing in depth videos of individual stadiums. There is a TON of material you can cover, with the history, architecture, rivalries, teams, etc involved.
An interesting fact about Hanner, the Rolling stones performed there in 1965. They recorded one of their most recognizable songs, Satisfaction, less than a week after.
Fun fact about Chartway Arena: The glass facade at the front has led lights strewn all across, so at night it lights up with different colors. Really nice to look at as you're driving down the boulevard.
Love the college basketball videos and can’t wait for more, but would love to see you do some of the NCAA hockey conferences. B1G, Hockey East, and NCHC have some really impressive and modern facilities in addition to some older venues with lots of character. CCHA, Atlantic Hockey, and ECAC have much smaller venues but some with lots of character and history would be cool to hear your opinions on them.
One thing that makes it the fun belt is the parody within the league. You’ll have a team beat a bigger school and then get blown out by a lesser team within the conference. U never know who’s gonna win week to week. It’s fun
Growing up I was told that Marshall and the City of Huntington were in discussion to jointly build a new arena, to replace the Veterans Memorial Fieldhouse. An arena around 10 to 12K in capacity. However, the two couldn't agree on where it should be built. Marshall wanted the new arena on campus and the city wanted it built downtown. So, they never came to an agreement. The university built the Cam Henderson Center on campus and city build the then named Huntington Civic Center (now named Mountain Health Arena) downtown. And now 40 years later, one can see how both lost back then. With that said, both will need to be replaced soon and here's hoping they can find a way to finally build that new, larger arena. Also, the current lower bowl seats are installed on a permanent concrete risers. The original retractable seats were removed around 20 years ago during a renovation..
I certainly don’t fault you for not knowing this, but San Marcos is pronounced “San MARkiss”. On the other hand, your pronunciation of “Appalachian” is spot on.
There's quite a few Convocation centres on this list, which begs the question - how in the hell do you convocate something? Marshall's arena is most striking, and I quite like the post-Soviet imitation architecture. I dearly hope that their PA system is supplied by the same boys that make those guitar amps that go up to 11. With regards to the Trojan Arena, I'd swear that it looks a little like the Hoover Building in Purfleet, in north London. And I swear that the Reed Green Coliseum has striking similarities to the GCHQ building in Cheltenham... oh crapola, I think I just broke the Official Secrets Act. PS - I like the "chanticleer French for Santa Claus" gag... HAH!!!!
My wife graduated from Georgia Southern and she played basketball in Hanner Fieldhouse. It’s…….well a basic arena and from what I heard designed after gym’s in Indiana. Of course it’s not a luxurious arena like my alumni University Of Florida but it’s more aesthetic But University Of Kentucky look at my alumni arena and laughed lol 😂
James Madison's arena was the newest in the CAA when it was built. JMU is one of the newest members of the Sun Belt.
For Chewbacca Mom ?
Sir, every arena is the newest arena in its conference when it opens…

Next video idea: Every NASCAR national series track, because the Xfinity and Truck Series often run at the same venues as Cup
Oh I think after the scandal with Southern Miss and Brett Farve they won’t be doing any major renovations anytime soon
Love the SunBelt FunBelt, you really keep up with all these teams
Please upload more frequently :( Best youtube channel ever.
Got to redo the Sun Belt football stadiums now with the new members
He's been ranking the college football stadiums by conference, I'm sure he'll include the new members when he ranks the 'funbelt" stadiums.

Tidbit: James Madison's previous arena, built in the early 1980s, was known as...the Convocation Center.
Arkansas State’s First National Bank Arena was previously called the Convocation Center.
I would love all the music used in your videos for a playlist for work lol
Texas state arena looks like a mall front of the arena🤣
Appy State, South Alabama, and JMU might just have the nicest basketball arenas in the Sun Belt.
Belo Horizonte, Brazil, stadiuns
You should do the Hungarian NB 1 league football stadiums, you will be surprised at how modern some of them can be apart from the Puskas Arena
I swear the Sun Belt and C-USA are ALWAYS CHANGING
Could you do a video on all the National (French third tear football league) stadiums? As you did with EFL League 1 for England…
Cajundome was once home to an indoor football football team
Idea for a video: stadiums named for a date. Stade 7 November stadium in Tunisia, for example.
