Phil is such a talented vocalist. Not just death vocal wise, I'm glad he is exploring his range and abilities more. Whitechapel is one of the few bands who can put a twist on a genre that genuinely felt kinda stale.

      Well written, well structured composition.

Been saying it for years, the bands that do best in metal are the ones that can slow it down and have some softer songs. If I listen to a band and every song on the album is super heavy it’s a turnoff. Show some versatility… as much as I love heavy music lol

The fact that despite everything he's been through, losing both parents, and that he's able to perform a song with so much personal sadness behind it in front of a crowd just shows how much of an amazing musician Phil really is! We love you Phil!

I would say its because he isn't comfortable with singing in front of people yet.. and they are emotional songs for him I'm sure but I'm also stating the obvious.

@@spinxz_314 pretty much. These songs are when he's at his most vulnerable and in his head he's probably like "fuck. I don't want people seeing me like this". It's so easy to put on some sort of mask when singing/screaming at subjects that make you pissed/angry because it allows you to let it out, but the loss of his parents is something that he deals with every single day, especially since he lost them at only 10 years old. Sorry this was so long lol. I was just diving into what you already said

Dillon Wong in all seriousness though, especially when it comes to the death core/heavy music scene it’s pretty difficult to find someone with as much vocal versatility as Phil. Dude’s a serious force to be reckoned with and a long time role model for me when it comes to my vocals (I sound like a puppy compared to this guy though)

This was absolutely breathtaking. I didnt know the weight of the song till now. As a fellow Tennessian it made my heart hurt. Phil's strength to push on after crying was enough to break a year long of no crying. Catharsis is what it is. Glad he's using music to push through.

Wow. Watching this made me sob. Something about this song reminds me of when I tried to kill myself when I was 15. I took every pill I could find and fell asleep. My sister woke me up and I just started puking. I had started getting depression I guess and I didn’t feel close to anyone anymore. I also had bad anxiety. Anyways went to hospital. Everyone in school found out and I got made fun of for it. Fun times. This song is so good bc you can tell it’s coming from a very real place. I am guessing that’s why he has to look away.
