Whoever said non-Natives should stay away from Pow Wow does not understand that Natives welcome outsiders to visit the Pow Wows and maybe learn something of the proud spirit of these people, and come away more respectful and more enlightened. I first went to a Pow Wow on invitation by a Nipmuc Indian who was a co-worker and a friend (RIP). I felt the spirit of these people through their music and dance, and I felt a primal connection that transcends race.
Eoin Heaney is not the only one, sometimes I do get those thoughts. But watching some of the powwows on RUclips is growing the thought in my mind to do Native American Studies for college
When people think of music they think of pop or rock or even country but native american music is built on dancing and drums and even vocals which truly are amazing and better then the stuff we get today
My granddaughter is a Yankton Sioux. The first time she heard this music, she was not but a few months old. She tried to dance and sing with it. And her Mother , who is Sioux cried. Really amazing to see!!!! BEING A SIOUX IS A PART OF HER SOUL.
well sir it is just a catchy music soul has nothing do with it, cuz I am from Pakistan and even I wanted to dance and sing like that while watching this video and we are no way near America
The second to last song was crazy fast. I love native americans and their culture. I have a pretty large collection of native american cds in my collection besides my metal, rock, and classical cd collection. Something about their music makes me want to stand up and dance as well but I barely know how to dance. Maybe I should go out to clubs and see if I find a chick who can teach me. Thanks for the music true Americans! ✌
It's cool how in Tibet the Buddhist monks also use a similar style of dances, and Tibetan folk dance also. Ancient traditions are powerful and carry forward the values of our ancestors.
Also if you look at some of the American Native dances its similar, I like there dancing what a great way to get an outside exercises you can see they love dancing this, great job, Thanks USA
I remember being at a POWwow once when I was a little girl but I didn’t like cause being small and the loud noise hurt my ears but I still enjoyed myself there man I wish schools taught how to speak native instead of French ya I was suppose to learn French… didn’t go well
This so beautiful glad our native people kept there culture this they need to teach kids in schools too so they know that this land doesn’t belong to there white parents but to our native people
The rabbit dance was founded by two native hunters when they were searching for deer for their tribe before the winter. They couldn’t find none, but they also couldn’t go back empty handed. They kept searching for deer until they started to hear a thump. The found the source and it was a big rabbit. The big rabbit was dancing when a bunch of normal sized rabbits started coming out. Then he jumps up and disappears. They go back and tell the elders so the elders make it a tradition to honor the rabbit for giving” Now, we all know they didn’t find deer before they even went back but there was still an Animal that was still edible, the rabbits. Now, they didn’t tell the killings of the rabbits because these stories were told to the younger generations. But the dance came about because if it wasn’t for that rabbit, they probably would’ve went back empty handed and would’ve starved so now, they honor the rabbits sacrifice because without it, they wouldn’t be alive. With that said. Natives, even though they were “savages” in a way, were still grateful, and respectful when killing an animal to eat.
this isn't a culture as it has no corilation to religion this is and always was a way of life OUR WAY OF LIFE and we believe in the way of this life and everything it resembles physically emotionally Mentally and spiritually
Dominicans, Puerto Rican are Tainos they have native Americans descent as well through South America like Colombia, and Ecuador, Central America Mexico they lost their identity because Christopher Columbus and the Spaniards were wicked and called the “Hispanics” today For example did you hear the music “The Last of the Mohicans”? With the flutes? I have that in my culture and they still play them,it makes me cry because they’re identity is lost and the land is stolen from the heathens and you what’s know so funny ? I don’t look “Latino” I look more Native Indian just those people dancing in the video. Yes they’re my people too !
Crazy horse would not be attacking me at all because im the one who went to him about the problem and as him to fix it and africans got this thing attacking me out of egypt crazy horse that's an invitation dominicans and haitians puerto ricans are responsible as well. Citywide.

If your white, return to paganism.
This culture needs to be taught in schools. Not just “new America” history.
