@Ogles thank you for sharing these videos and now I owned 4 turtles collection. When I was a kid, I had the original figures, but I was sad I didn't owned Donatello. Good times!
The sad thing about these is that the plastic and joints are definitely cheaper and lower quality! My 5 year old son recently really got into ninja turtles, which is so cool to see and fun to play with him, and we got him a bunch of these and I thought they looked and felt flimsy, and some joints even came off with just normal play right out of the box and on different characters! Just recently I was able to visit my parents, and I dug out my old toys and I still had a Slash, Super Shredder, Wingnut, Michelangelo, and a Leonardo that can transform back into a baby turtle from when I was a kid; the dates on their butts were all from the early 1990s, and, boy, you can tell that the plastic is way thicker and stronger and the joints feel a lot more stronger and more durable than the ones I just bought. So I tell my son to play with that Mikey, Leo and Slash than the ones that we just bought. Sad but true, but I am just glad that they are re-issuing some thing! Aww, the member berries taste good!
I picked these up today at my local comic store. Even though they're reissues... I friggin' love them, and I've always wanted to own the original TMNT figures from Playmates!
these were so good they took me right back to my child hood i was able to play with them and i did not have to worry about breaking a toy from over 30 years ago
These look like the molds for the original 80's Figures???These are so good,I discovered them a few days ago at my local Walmart and instantly I was takin back to my childhood upon looking at these,my first one as a kid was Donatelo then Leonardo,seeing these rerelease's now as an adult is so cool now that I can just about afford them all in one shot,just need Mikey and my Lil Turtle collection will be complete....
These look very cool and are obviously more accessible than the originals. Shame about the inconsistencies though on the paint jobs. Cheers for sharing!

I've heard of a few people getting some misprints or factory error figures like that! I don't know how much more they're worth, but anytime there is a factory error like that the value is def more than the standard figure. Good find!

Got 3 of them from Walmart but Donatello was out of stock. Hopefully I can find him in the near future to complete the main 4. I just want them for the original box artwork to keep on display. Still have my vintage figures in my closet. Very disappointed with Playmates. They used to be top notch in quality & the like. Lately they’ve been making very poor decisions.
Hope you can track Donatello down soon as well! They're cool figures to have even if not as great of quality as the originals. And if you are keeping them in the boxes, the little flaws won't be nearly as noticeable too. Thanks for watching!
Saw several Donnie and Mikey at a local Walmart, but the paint showed really poor QC. I passed them over until I find ones with good paint. Opted for for a miniature transformable Megatron and Starscream and a retro Cobra Commander instead.
How weird that ur Donatelo's paint skeem is a off Brown color,I just got 3 outta the 4 turtle's today at Wally World and My Donatelo is the right color of Green head included,I'm thinking Playmate's realized that and fixed it Recently......

You can fix Raphael or them all with standing issues with boiling hot water and bending the plastic into a standing position and then rinse with cold water. Easy fix.
I know when they first started issuing the figures it was just the other 3 and then Donatello was a wave 2 of sorts. But now that they’re all out I’m not sure why he is the harder one to find. 🤷♂️
How long will this reprints last tho ? Will they keep selling them till the 22 or should I rush and buy them at eBay at a high price because it’s hard to find them in my Walmarts ?
I just found out about these figures last week when I saw the whole set recently stocked at my Walmart a few days before Christmas. It appears as though they are still renewing the stock on these, so I would keep checking Walmart before going on eBay.
Yeah, the quality of the paint is definitely not as good as the originals. Raphael in particular looks lighter in color. Loved he packaging though. Thank you for sharing this. They also have a reissue of the Party Wagon if you can find it. :)
It's really ironic how Raphael is hardest to stand here since the original toy is usually remembered as the easiest to stand up. Also is it me or is the plastic on these rereleases not as shiny as the original?
I like em. Heads are bigger than the originals. Also the belts and straps are bigger Other than that...looks the same to me...I wanna compare em to the gamestop 4 pack
They are pretty similar as a whole and if you don't have them side by side I think most people will probably never noticed the difference. I did get a chance to see some comparisons with the originals and Ralph is prob the most different due to being lighter as a whole.
I don’t know how anyone, but this reissue didn’t work for me. Rafael is so light as if he was bathing in bleach, and the black Don seemed to be very burned out. Why did they make such huge heads for them, I have turtles 2 Leo and Raf 2008 release and they are closer to 1988 made than these. Still, when Mirage had the franchise rights, these toys were better than the new reissues.
Thanks for this review. Because of paint job on Raph and Donny's head (horrendous) - I opted to pick up the 2008 (25th anniversary) figures instead.
I think that was probably the best option for ya because the painting just isn't quite right on these.

I use nail clippers for the little "plastic strings" holding the figure in if that helps

I agree! The give away for me was that weird pale green they used for Raphael. I still feel they aren’t as good as the original ones.
I have the Michelangelo but the paintjob isnt as good as the one you have
Sadly it seems like the paintjob varies alot with these reissues :/
I didn't recall the original figures all being different shades of green.
Half the time people can’t tell soft heads to hard heads because some of the vintage rubber heads are rock hard. Great review!

When he got to Donatello and he pointed out the head color not matching the body color I ran to inspect mine. Mine doesn’t match either…. 😑

Judging from your Mikey it looks like they might have had a running change because mine is a very dark green, closer to the original figure.

Yeah, there are often flaws on the inner shell, imperfections of the paint on the face mask (especially Michaelangelo), and defects on the feet.

Yeah the plastic isn’t quite what the originals were I don’t think. They’re a bit more matte finish to me.

The heads on these are too big. Either that or the bodies are too small. Was just comparing my vintage ones to these.
Yeah the heads are a bit bigger for sure. It’s one of those things you don’t really notice til you have them side by side.
