These reissues are the quality of bootleg turtles when compared to the 1990's originals! Considering they are made by Playmates the figures should be better quality.
That's true, but one thing to keep in mind is: Playmates released these toys for the kids, as is evident from the pricing of these toys. To be used in actual play, and not as collector's items. The assumption was, that a kid wouldn't really care about the detail; if the new heads were a tad bigger and turtle colors were little bit off, as they wouldn't be comparing these new ones to the old ones. It's only the old farts like you and me who actually know that the original toyline even exists and who can even compare these two lines together. And it's a good thing there are differences: it makes it easier to spot re-releases in the second hand market.
