    To test this hypothesis, study trans men and women with analogous hormonal profiles, or study animal models with HRT.
    Confirm that these men have one or more Xs and that these women have a combination of X and Y, and that sex hormone levels are comparable. This is just the observational model your teams are looking for.
    I must see that male and female hormonal profiles have been teased out from the results in this presentation, else I can't rule out that these differences in gene expression may be attributable to hormones. There, the influence of # of X chromosomes could still be studied and with much greater accuracy on the basis of M and F categorization (i.e. presence of 1 or more X).
