Now the main judge admitted that they did not spot the error of Max, which means he was over scored, but the result can not be changed, it's a pity for Su, such an extraordinary young athlete, a true champion in the hearts of the people.
its stupid that results can't be change. when you see some athletes got their medal revoked because they were suspected of taking drugs so why can't they change it if there is a judging error? i can guarantee you that if it was chinese that was overscore, people would go mental
Su did the 1800 but none of the others did that. And he landed nicely for all the other tricks. How come he didn’t get 90s?? 😥 But well congratulations for all the medalists 🙏🏻🙏🏻🎉🎉
It's great how the commentators are so positive and not critical of the contenders preformance.. how refreshing. Maybe the Other commentators could learn from this
Honestly, on the "extended highlights", it would be nice if you rapidfire through the best run of EACH rider. I don't care about slow motions and intro outro of runs, pricegiving, etc. I can watch all that by replaying the whole broadcast myself (once it's released in some years...) That's what would be honorable to ALL athletes and consumer-friendly.
We bought this because it was the only goofy foot board we could find. We already had a regular footed board of a different brand. This one is much better; specifically the bindings. Their shape makes it easy to get your foot in. Great design for a kids board to use on a small hill.
su missed a feature - the 3rd pipe. He was attempting to tap it but missed. Missing a feature generally docks more points than missing a grab. I guarantee he would've scored way more but for that miss. Maybe a 91.
Su did the 1800 but none of the others did that. And he landed nicely for all the other tricks. How come he didn’t get 90s?? But well congratulations for all the medalists
Su could have won but he missed a rail still he will probably win the next few olympics he is next level young star like Matej Svancer in skiing or Marcus Kleveland
It's insane how bad these announcers are. Like, crazy. They never even spoke about corks, which is crucial for scoring big jumps Didn't talk about grabs, which grabs and how long they were held. Shameful
what you fail to realise is that news outlets rarely know the rules of any given sport.. especially a niche sport such as slopstyle. UNfortunately, I agree with the judging here. Su missed the 3rd pipe - it seemed he was attempting to tap it but missed. If he had hit that 3rd feature, I will guarantee he would've scored 91 or more. Missing a feature entirely docks more points than "missing" or making an "incorrect" grab. I'm a judge at some events here in NA and sometimes fly out to japan on invitation.
It could get a little bit hilarious with some rail tricks and odd rotations though :D, but yeah! I sometimes talk just talk in full rotations or fractions as well instead of talking 36, 45 etc .
Stan did an interview on slush snowboarder mag. You should read it! Its FIS and the IOC, not the judges! For me it was the last time watching this bullshit... they don't deserve snowboarding...
Su wasn't ripped off, his big jumps had less corks, didn't hold a bunch of grabs, Parrot was flawless except for one minor mistake. Personally I agree with the judging, spinning like a top is WAY less cool than doing triple corks on huge rotations.
I do remember that a few African skiers have participated in the past. Sadly I can't remember their names, but I still have a lot of respect for these guys. Brave enough to participate and push through till the end even if it was clearly visible that he struggled quite a bit. Given the African physique and durability I do think that you could really do well in some of the acrobatic disciplines like snowboarding and freestyle skiing for example if you find some people with love for it and send them to train elsewhere in the world. I have seen videos of some black americans do very well on snowboards for example and it looked like they enjoyed the snow alot as well. Perhaps in the future we will see it happen. Alot of Africa seems to have started developing to a higher living standard nowadays so it can be very well possible with a little bit of work.

What error did Max make? That said I admit Su deserved gold.
@@ianyapxw Max had a boot grab instead of grabbing the board - its not shown in this highlight video (i suspect due to the controversy (?))

I know I was thinking the same thing!! Everything Su did was better
his rails were lacking
@@oregano9433 Looking back on it yeah... he only hit one rail but I thought he would get points for creativity there.
aparrently it’s about grabbing your knee not spinning and grabbing the board
He missed a rail. The rail section is 50% of the score. It's not just the jumps.
so proud of Su! He deserves a gold medal
No his landing was way too hard
Su is the real champion 💪
he's beaten by a better champ! truth!
He's beaten by dirty Canadian judges 😏😏😏
@@G8bigair The Canadian was obviously cleaner on his execution and landings.

Chinese dude did 5 turns at last jump .... Got 88 points !! Bit unfair
SU missed the 3rd pipe on that run....
So? It’s not al about turns? He didn’t look as smooth and his landing was off.
If he had a better landing then I think he would have won
If the Canadian judge gave fair scores.
@@robopotato4391 they gave a 91 to someone who grap their knees so it's irrelevant

Well done ... Su
Nah that chinese dude easily was the best. How on earth did parrot get a 90 for that?
Parrot knee grabbed and Su hit less corks…in my eyes McMorris had by far the cleanest, most technical, and most exciting run
CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OLYMPIC ATHLETES!!!
Only Su deserves gold.
Nobody commenting how Amazing are the skills of the park shapers !? Wow so precise and goodlooking features
Nice homage to Steve Cabellero
really rough listening to these commentators not know basic trick names
And they have to count
How do you knee grab and score 90 points? Really bad and disappointing from the judges
judges under scruntiny by chinese communist party. Like by Peng Shuai. No margins of error!!

because it's max. the thing about snowboarding, the big names get it easier.
Thanks to the hard working "handicap" Canadian judges 😜😜😜
