Figured I'd leave a comment like this now that the video is 7 months old. I did not jump anywhere on this video. Anywhere you see a jump is most likely a rising grapple. A rising grapple involves getting into the air, (usually by ducking under a platform) then airdodging up and instantly grappling. The momentem I gained from the airdodge doesn't stop since I canceled it. You can also look at the end of stage bonuses for "Cement Shoes", which is awarded if you complete a level without jumping. If you're still confused just ask in the comments.

This gets used all throughout the run, but basically Samus can still grapple while she’s in free fall, so she drops through the platform, airdodges up which puts her in free fall, but then immediately grapples so you never see Samus go into free fall. You can especially see this during Icicle Mountain.

How did you get the game in 16:9 screen?
I used the Widescreen Support gecko code on dolphin, then set the aspect ratio to force 16:9.
