This guide is fantastic. Started learning fighting games with SFV a month before SF6. Now almost a week left to go and I finally learned I love playing alex. Better late than never. Hopefully he comes back, but marisa looks like a fun character to switch to.
I really like Alex looks and playstyle but the execution is way too much for me, i am trash and the quick cancels from the hold button just broke my will to play this character, spent 4 hours just trying to get it once but never did. I will just stick to Gief.
13:00 I just put um in the corner and sit there with st.MK and cr.MP, they eventually try to jump out and I EX knee for blender again. I got this tech from gunfight too where with life advantage he would just hover there at the safe range in that situation.
52:00 CA has saved me from its crazy range , but I agree if it’s gonna kill, use it I was hoping you showcase the range of it especially from a projectile perspective or chip damage kill It’s Excellent against those guile’s , again tho only if it kills or turns the tables

I like cammy but as i'm focusing on fundamentals in ranked (footsies, spacing, punish), i struggle with her low health, inexperience and i don't need her rushdown potential right now. I played again an Alex in ranked, it was really a neutral game and also one of the coolest fights i got. I am trying Alex on training and i love it. I know he's not top tier but he's better than the past seasons and his big damages, simple gameplan, and not too hard moves feel good and fun. I'm just worried about AA and jumping monkeys in low ranks, i will see...
I think one big important thing about Alex that wasn't mentioned is that he's actually fun to play. I'm a Tekken player and struggled picking up SFV because I didn't really click with a character. Once I tried Alex I fell in love.

VS2 Improves the chops now scary range and fireball deletion properties: You can cancel a chop intro another special move if it hits a fireball and it takes a lot of people by surprise when getting zoned.
At the beginning? You left a time stamp for 18:08 . That stand heavy doesn’t have a dash, it’s just me holding down back and then pressing heavy punch into forward heavy kick
After ex command grab, you can also go for a meaty heavy kick. If they mash buttons, you get a free combo. If they block and you have v trigger, you can stay relatively safe.
Great vid! I would like you to talk a bit more about what can I combo off the cr.HP when anti airing. Is it EX elbow or EX Slash? Otherwise, great guide!
If you got just one hit, you can go for another c.hp and then medium knee. If you got both hits, just go for the knee. Also you can do a light chop, and then medium headbutt... That's a meaty

Stay out of his heavy kick range, since that's where he wants to do a lot of V Skill 2 cancels from. If you play out of that range and he whiffs, it has a lot of recovery frames for an easy sweep or crouch fierce.
It should work, you need to go into f+hp immediately. F+hp has 11 frames start up and he is +8 on a quick rise after the st mk frame kill, so it needs to be air tight to shut down the 3 frame normals
Against fireball characters you need to poke a lot with light chop and normals to build up meter. Without meter it is difficult for Alex to get thru to zoners. Versus Ryu in particular its a lot more difficult, because Ryu has st.lk which has long range and can easily punish any of Alex's specials if not spaced correctly i.e. flash chop, st.HK. He also has a parry that can easily snuff your ex stomp.
I just fell in love with Alex because of SFlll and now i’m heart broke because he wasn’t in the SF6 roster leak. It’s scary how competitive and deep the SF DLC bag is, we better get my boy back 😭😭

Yes it does. Choke sleeper catches crouching opponents. DDT doesn't.
