I think he can split games or get more of a share of the games with a young forward. Maybe Sesko, maybe Gyokeres, however as long as we have Jesus I don’t think this is as easy as said and done. If we do sign a forward, I think Jesus may need to be sold. Just doesn’t make sense to have three strikers, Eddie as well which we assume he will. Anywell, no clue about any of the forwards we’re looking at, not up to date on that. If Jesus can stay healthy I think a wide player would be a better investment. Or sell Jesus and put get a forward and wide player. Who knows, I’m sure they have a clear plan that we’ll find out eventually 😊. Not sure Jesus will be too happy spending a large amount of time on the bench though, doesn’t seem that sort of player.

I mean the Bundesliga has only 34 games per season and if we're talking all competitions, Havertz had 2 seasons with 27 G/A as a midfielder. So looking at the whole season, he hasn't matched that level yet. But if we're only looking at the past 3 or 4 months, he is really close. Really hoping, he will start next season, the way he is ending this one, cuz then the next season might be huge for him. #let's hope the best

I don't think there is a nailed on 9 in the market so it's basically about opportunities. Secondly, if we are having debates about the ST position, we should also have it for LW. Imo LW has been more unstable for us throughout the season. For me, I only see saka as the pinned player in our frontline. Nelli has been out of form this season but that can probably change. But havertz man, if you look at his stats at 9 this season, its so good. And we have been using sort of a facilitator 9 for say 3 seasons now, whether it was laca or jesus or havertz. So there are questions to whether arteta wants to change that. If not, then why not go for kai next season and invest in wide areas and a proper CM to compliment rice and odegaard. Havertz can defo be a 20goals striker while being more of a facilitator. Isn't that the ideal scenario for us for that 9 role? It's my opinion.

We should not forget that Arteta bought him to play Xhaka's position in midfield - and yes he played false 9 for Chelsea. He was pushed upfront by Arteta when Jesus got injured. Accidental forward. Furthermore, Arteta said that going forward "Jesus game time will be managed". Meaning that Jesus will not get a lot of game time. Constant knee recurring injuries.
He should not be our Drogba next season. I give him credit for the 12 goals he gas scored so far, I didn't predict that. Never see him getting double figures. He's not my guy but credit.

  • @robleisner6141
    @robleisner6141 5 месяцев назад

I actually think we are looking at everything wrong. We are looking through the lens of what is done universally from a tactical perspective, and that is:
    1. having set positions and a basic formation at the least.
    2. Expanding that (if you're a capable, modern coach) to have different roles for positions (eg inverted fullback) and different formations when in possession vs OOP.
But I feel Arteta is putting that system aside, looking at what he wants from players in particular spaces. He is looking at using the individual qualities of each player what their role will be depending upon where they find themselves on the pitch.
I believe that was why he wanted Havertz so badly. Havertz has been hailed as a Raumdeuter, or space explorer. We've used him as a 'midfielder' and 'striker' but if you look at his heat maps, is that really the actual position he plays? Adam Cleary from FourFourTwo alluded to it as well in his analysis after Arsenal's NLD victory.
Furthermore, look at the two players he brought in from City - Jesus and Zinchenko - and you notice that they too aren't your classic positional players.
Look at what we do when Zinny isn't playing; we use repurposed CBs. We even have another one playing at RB!
Then he picked up Rice and is looking to get him further up the pitch.
And he's changing roles and responsibilities based on the opposition and venue.
Finally, he's not limiting himself to a static in-possession formation and OOP formation. Rather, he's using a different formation depending on field location as well. For example, OOP in our defensive 3rd, we have a compact 4-4-2, but in the middle 3rd we might see a 4-4-2 but shifted across to one side. We might see a box midfield or a diamond midfield.
If we are facing a low block and lose the ball in the attacking 3rd, we've often pressed as a 2-4-4, while in possession we could shift to a 2-3-5.
    Everything is so fluid.
But for me, it also explains why he's not rotating as much as we often would like him to. It is much harder to replace one of those cogs in your machine without it screwing everything up.
It also explains why we aren't just jumping at talented players being touted for their abilities. Arteta needs players that can adapt to his vision of how he wants his team to play or there's no point bringing them in.

James, if Kai continues his form and if you had to pick Isak or Bruno from Newcastle who would it be? Seem to be linked with both. Also would you hang onto Partey and take the injury risk for next season.? Bruno, Rice and MO midfield would be tasty.

I know this sounds silly when players are at this level but Havertz has all the raw qualities to be a star he just needs coaching and development either in the 8 or 9. I just question whether or not Arsenal has the staff available to coach and improve players beyond their natural growth. Either way, I love Havertz and have been supporting him the entire way.
Obviously, Havertz is playing better than at Chelsea but can he be developed. My heart tells me yes but my gut tells me no. Chelsea did him no favours. That is not to say that Havertz can't improve only that Arsenal is not the club that continuously develops talent, they rarely have over the last 15 years.
Some players that are on the shopping list will impact Havertz's chances for game time.
Striker: Gyokeres would be the first choice
Midfielders: Wirtz, Camavinga and Simons all bring either more playmaking or additional role versatility to cover wingers or CDM.
CDM: Onana could be a good choice allow Declan Rice the permanent #8

Everyone (except for maybe Ty) at AFTV has been disrespected/been very critical towards Havertz from the start, even before he kicked a ball for our club. We’re used to it by now mate, it’s not only you, and you’re all entitled to your opinions. My biggest problem with it was that there wasn’t anyone on the channel who stood up for him, me and a few others did on AFTV’s disrespectful social media posts during half of 2023 but that didn’t even make a dent. I think in the end most of us (not Laurie, not Cecil, not Curtis etc.) is happy he’s doing well for the club we all love. Even us who have supported him from the start still wants a new striker this summer, not neccesarrily to replace him and it’s not as black and white as every English fan seems to think but because we need more options if we’re going to challenge in every competition we play in. COYG!

I can’t wait for us to get a CF in the summer, ‘Havertz off the bench’ is gonna hit like CR*CK
Naturally he’d start sometimes too but he is our new striker for now for sure 👌🏾
Man I really hope Newcastle budge somehow & open up the door for Isak 😮‍💨

genuinely hope Arsenal win it, cant see City win 4 from a Liverpool fan (obviously I hope for a miracle and a Liverpool title more than anything, but that's very very very unlikely at this point) I would actually be somewhat happy if Arsenal win it though, never had any hatred for Arsenal, and I like the current squad, you guys have some good players, and like we did, you are doing it the right way, Kudos AFC

Trust the process, trust Arteta and Edu. If we buy someone this summer fans aren't sure about, allow the player time to work with Arteta and to integrate with the team. Havertz just needed time and so did Raya and Kiwior.
I just hope Vieira can have a decent spell uninjured to prove his worth. There's a good player in him, but fans have only seen glimpses so I don't blame their doubt. We could be viewing Vieira in the same light as we are Havertz atm

This game shows the definition of defense win trophies.
The gaffer's substitution bringing on Kiwior at that particular point showed we had learned from last years miss.
At that point you don't try to settle and hold play. You sit back, defend and break on the counter
    Great job Mikel

I never comment I like you James a lot, keep up with passion and content. I just have to say tho Kai has been not building up to this performance he has been key to us for months now and I love Jesus but Kai has made me not think bout starting Jesus that’s how good he has been. Human nature I believe makes you feel that he has been building up to this when in reality he’s had performances of great intelligence with this touches and runs as well as brilliant finishing and tenacity in the way he presses and defends. All that said he still misses the classic number 9 I think we still need in summer but that doesn’t take away from his performances for us this season - pure class.

first person to talked bad was Piers Morgan ,his words was so annoying that damage Havertz , I saw him when he came to Chelsea then I wished Arsenal signed him ,it was Havertz and Werner ,werner was good but Havertz was better , i didnt knew what happened but i see that there were too many videos that mock him that he cant score ,then Real Madrid wanted him but Arsenal paied sooner .now he learning center forward moves like .
i said dont buy Rice ,i was not excited but he is good player ,Rice need to shoot better every game he shoot 4 times nd blocked,Rice often shoot that ball that came outside of box with first touch and there are +8 players in the box and they are compact ,that will not sucsesd ,maybe when there are less than 8 players inside box and they are not compact ,shoot to cornor ,shoot should have maximum angle and between angle and strength of shoot is a opposite relation when angle is less shoot should be stronger ,a weaker shoot with most angle can be goal ,when players are so compact in front of you with doing many steps you can change their organisation ,observation is important a free line like pool game you can see a defender and try to shoot between his leg and nutmeg ,you can shoot curve ball that gk cant see the ball even diagnoal shoot that gk cant see ball because defenders are front him ,first player who stand front of you to block is important you can act that you want to shoot to left let him jump to left then you shoot throw his former place that if he stand he could block it , any expert shoot = strong + aerial + curve ,also chip shoot from distance when gk come forward out side of his first box you can chip it when no one expect diagonal chip shoot even better ,also nutmeg gk , dribble gk because i see him had one on one too ,winning penalty any change of direction can make opponent hit you ,so when you are in box and cant see a way to goal dont rush and do other way maybe even turn back and get away from goalie let opponent rush create you chance or penalty.also when gk is front of you and you cant shoot to goal you should act very cool that gk feel safe and come forward to reach you ,when gk running forward shoot ,any way rice only problem in his most of shoot is that there are too many compact defenders front of him or when first defender who is front of you running forward to you shoot ,another way is waiting few moments keep your position lets everyone who are front of you freeze they freeze when they dont know what to do then shoot with medium angle with outside curve (curve that make ball farer from gk ) with 80 percent strength, dont go to box to falling yourself down never plan this way ,try to score first place if you cant try to be still dangerous do unexpected moves turn change of direction let them hit you ,be strong that when you running and opponent are near you dont falling down be strong that if they push you a little you stay still and not moving 2 meter , i saw one time opponent hug Nketiah from behind lift him and land him other place ,it is not only strength it is also technique that stay still when they push you Viera too they push him too ,you should expect someone running to your back and push you when you catch ball ,also Havertz i see him when he is in the box and watch winger move tthat dribble to pass him the ball he freezed and stand so ball come to him and unaware that defender mark him with distance and before he atch ball defenders tackle it he can look everywhere and dont just stare to teammate be aware maybe he can run to winger and maybe help winger to him dribbe and winger shoot or maybe tell winger to pass where with his hands but i think best way is to winger send him pass with height that he head that or volley that because that defender dont expect that and thats harder for him to block aerial ball from behind send him ball with 1 meter or higher height ,also Saka chance to score 4th goal to Tottenham that volley shot his volley shot was zero height he could shoot to maximum height

Ian respect to you cos you always support the channel & the content & chat football respectfully but I don’t think it’s a ‘bad bad take’
Havertz did nothing vs Bayern (hate to say it but the way people react makes me have to remind them) - it was Jesus & Trossard’s trickery that made the difference. Against Wolves they were the 2 starting with Havertz in midfield. And their brilliance won us that game - it’s not crazy to think those two should have started, what I do think is where I got it very wrong is me thinking Havertz couldn’t handle Spurs’ CBs cos he did immaculately
