definitely not dead, still a surprising amount of players, but definitely on life support, blizzard has been doing quality of life updates, so maybe something in the works but im probably coping
Nahhh once Microsoft's acquisition settles in surely it will get revived! The official twitter account became active for the first time in 2-3 years surely that means that Blizzard will revive the game! I AM DEFINITELY NOT COPING!
"This is why no one plays Duels" - Actually, this is why people love to play duels, because you can do some crazy shit and it makes the game less monotone and boring. Duels is and will always be my favorite mode after dungeon runs.
Firestone statistic of hours per Day played for each game mod. Duels have almost the same results as arena, some times less, sometimes more. Around 3000-4000 stable. Eating standard have from 50000 when for New expansion, which falling to 10000. So yes, there are less players, but that not the minority
I love duels but even I gotta admit that duels stopped being "lol random is gud" to what arena is. The fact that two of the most popular (and powerful) are bomb warrior and dragon druid. Mage, rouge, and priest are sprinkled in but was extremely stale
I always did really well with my Legendary neutral only Vandar deck. Diamond vandar card with the dude who doubles stats in deck always worked well against most these types of metas. Though again i agree that shit metas were too common, decks should have been more wildish with some drafting or something
Ah the story of duels... The mode had little to no chance of success from the beginning as it was locked behind a paywall at the start. They went back on that sometime later and made it accessible to everyone but at that point it was too little too late as the false start had prevented it from picking up any sort of traction. New players are still discovering and enjoying the mode, now that is set up better and some content creators are picking it up too (like Roffle recently). However it's not for everyone. It has a small (around the same size as Arena), dedicated and slowly growing following. Blizzard just decided to pull the plug on it instead of maintaining it eventually because it takes nearly the same amount of resources to keep up, maintain and balance as constructed. Also it wasn't making them money, on the contrary, some players figured out how to farm packs using the mode, you just needed to know what decks to play for it. Those are the actual reasons why Blizzard pulled the plug on the mode, even if they didn't bother to say it.
That last match was not okay. I've hit the turn limit before playing Archbishop Benedictus mirror matches and *that* was fun. But that Infinite Arcane spell Eddy faced is NOT.
I've been off actually playing hearthstone since the "Free Hong Kong" debacle- Duels very nearly tempted me back (and honestly would have, if it weren't going away).
Duels has a million unique possible combinations and it's 95% people playing bomb warrior or freeze mage. It's a lot of content to create for people to not use.
Yeah because as Roffle said : you pay money and you’re out after 3 losses, so it’s not like constructed where you can do whatever you want you’ll still be able to play your deck, it’s extremely frustrating to have to fish for the same passive for your non-meta deck that will be destroyed by the first dragon Druid.
I play duels everyday and more than battlegrounds but I understand why, doesn't make them money since they don't monetize it like battlegrounds and mercenaries
"When was the last time you played duels" When was the last time Blizzard actually put manhours into balancing it? Duels might not be popular, but it wasn't really doing any harm being there, it's not like Blizzard were hemmoraging manhours keeping it alive, they neglected the shit out of it and the few changes they did make were detrimental to it.
your description just say my opinion im was playing it every day (today it was removed) and i hate it. Arena is not a real alternative and sucks for quite some years now. Duels was the envolvement of the single player witchwood/kobolds. IDK where this games will go to when the Devs leave for this mode. A realy sad day
Not a lot of ppl played duels because its behind a paywall unlike battleground which was their most successful mode or arena where you don't need cards to build a deck
It was behind a paywall when the mode first got launched, which basically prevented it from building up any sort of following. The mode had little to no chance of success from the beginning regardless of how good/bad it was. They went back on that sometime later and made it accessible to everyone but at that point it was too little too late.
I hope you got drunk after this stream, cause that last battle was sooo... I don't wanna say boring and sound mean, but I feel like watching paint try might have been funner if it wasn't for Eddy
I dont play hearthstone, never have, not good with card games.. But holy fuck on a celestial bicycle handcrafted by the asscheeks of the world turtle, Duels has officially gotten the Hans seal of pure unfiltered 'what the fuck is this design.'
The Infinite Arcane does add cards destroyed with it to the discover pool so if you destroy to many bombs when you play it you might only have the option of discovering bombs.
Cannot blame you for the lack of fun for that mage. I hate all the virgins that play the infinite arcane or whatever decks. I enjoy it personally when its not that dogshit.
you guys can say everything against duels, but that 6 hours run from Regis playing priest is pure gold
What’s the video called?
@@alpha_unit274 lmao, "make it stop" he's playing as a thief priest if I recall right
idk the deck but he had the bulwark shield and had multiple 40 turn games
@@alpha_unit274 ruclips.net/video/eXdWqNnt0hE/видео.htmlsi=GW3nl7bpI6U9cMa9
Found it! Also its not 6... "Just" four and a half
@@BoomBoy64… That’s what makes it great!
i like how if eddy is playing anything that's not rouge in standard he's just having the worst of times.
I loved Heros of the Storm. Sadly, it died/dying. The unique characters are the main drive for me. Plus a focus on siege.
I still play it
definitely not dead, still a surprising amount of players, but definitely on life support, blizzard has been doing quality of life updates, so maybe something in the works but im probably coping

Oof, Eddy ran into freeze mage and didn't know to play around infinite arcane by keeping coldlight.... That feelsbadman

Yes and i love drooling noobs (cit) that use and defend steam cleaner. If I recall correctly it removes buckets as well
@@DiabloTommasoit doesnt tho just bombs/kazakusan treasures

And no, they didnt work on that Mode, they Dont balance it, they Dont add New content. They do fucking nothing for Mode as popular as arena

That or massive list of rotating heroes so metas arent able to establish easily
@@bluephoniex6356 Even with rotating heroes every class has a representation multiple times. Druid has besides Drek'Thar has Elise and Omu.
I think this is less an issue with the mode itself. And more to do with the fact that it has been pretty much abandoned for like a year at this point
That 1 bomb was crazy

I LOVE FREEZE MAGE I LOVE FREEZE MAGE I LOVE FREEZE MAGE
Duels is pretty fun, and it's faster than battlegrounds when you have those win 5 battleground/tavernbrawl/duel
Unless you play rattlegore that is *cough*
I feel like these videos need some sort of chill music in the background, even the battlegrounds default theme would do fine
Oh no, it's actually really good, you just got to play around it.
That Shadow of Death was insane 😂
That last match was not okay.

This is the least fun hearthstone I have seen in my life.
