19:40 On the topic of why Finley/Spinley is considered a better card than plot twist: the logic is actually even simpler.
It's neutral so it can go in classes that need it, but more importantly, because of it swapping with the bottom of your deck instead of shuffling and drawing that many cards, Spinley actually guarantees that you get an entirely *new* hand. And since it's the bottom of your deck specifically, it draws cards you likely might not have ever gotten to otherwise.
The whole point of running that kind of card is to cycle to something you don't already have in hand, otherwise you wouldn't want to play it.
Plot Twist could just give you some of or potentially your whole hand back to you, spending 2 mana (one more than Spinley) to do nothing, or at least be less likely to hit what you're looking for.
So it is only really good if you care about drawing cards for drawing cards sake, like in the quest warlock it came out with.

Also finley can delay fatigue if your deck has less cards compared to your hand

    • @TheMikester9
      @TheMikester9 9 месяцев назад +2

@@arandomperson6671 That is true, but just like a lot of the other reasons given in the video, it's not gonna be relevant in the vast majority of games so it isn't really one of the reasons the card is considered to be useful.
In most games fatigue never comes up but cards that have benefits in fatigue will always have the attention of people who play decks that **try** to make it there.
It comes up in a lot of places in videos and streams from Hearthstone creators, and the creators (especially the more competitively minded) will usually dismiss it, rightfully so.
All that said... Some of my most fun experiences with Hearthstone are games that go "infinite" in some way so cards with those advantages have a special place in my heart too lol
It's just unfortunate that most of the time you get burned out, blown up, beat down, or combo'd to death before you even reach 10 mana.

@@TheMikester9 Tbf you DESPISED the pure control meta of Alterac Valley, so let's not pretend you ACTUALLY want an actual control meta, let alone attrition; what you actually want is that your overly greedy plays to not be punished, which they'll be most of the time, because it's a PvP and the opponent will use the openings given against you. I know how twitch chat works, it's THE showcase of a hive/multiple minds working worse than 1.

Uhh, I don't think I played at that time, I've been playing HS on and off and entirely free to play.
But I did play during Knights of the Frozen Throne and I did absolutely love having high value, super greedy attrition based decks that went until fatigue, sometimes to turn limit.
I thought all the hero cards were really fun despite their ridiculous power level, and I didn't really care about winning or losing. I mostly just enjoyed the turn to turn puzzle of trying to get an edge and play around your opponents removal.
And the absolute best games were and still are the ones where a bunch of RNG shenanigans slowly but surely makes the difference over the course of a game.
In my personal opinion I think that's where Hearthstone truly shines and what makes Hearthstone special and unique in the card game space.
I don't hate that aggressive decks exist I just wish the power level and the climax of when aggressive decks would reliably win would be a little later, closer to what midrange is now, and at least after both players reach 10 mana.
I think the only reason aggressive decks have powercrept so hard is because of their popularity due to Hearthstone being a mobile game first and mobile gamers want games to end fast and to progress faster. It's ultimately a business decision over a balance one I think. I could be wrong, I didn't come up playing OG card games.
There are probably a lot of gamers out there who fit your description though, if you're not just projecting. But I definitely preferred being able to play long games frequently regardless of the competitive outcome.

@@TheMikester9You meant "You HS community as a whole".
I mean, which is the most despised class historically? PRIEST, you know, the purest definition of control class (although Druid has been worse the last 2 years).
You being a weirdo who likes attrition control doesn't mean the community is like you who prefers greed.

I made the mistake of thinking that grumble + copy minion + shudder = infinite shudders, then the order didn't work out from the single battlecry, and I was weak late game. Needs double battlecry to 100 percent always work. Looks like Roffle's goal wasn't infinite shudders though, just quality battlecries and maybe have an upside of another shudder sometimes

RAW always uploads the same video as main channel, and they both upload at the same time each day. So if you prefer the edited version, just wait a few hours after the raw is out and the edited version will be too.
