Man what a sweet old truck. Don't know what you paid for her but the grille and side mouldings are so nice they're probably worth more than you paid for the whole truck. Glad to see it rescued. Love them old Fords
I can't be bothered to wash my 2 year old F150, but finding it very satisfying watching someone else wash a 40 year old F150...I think an older truck is in my future.
In the future go to a car wash supper and invest in a pump up sprayer and steam cleaner soap concentrate and mix it 1 part soap 2 parts water . Spray everything .leave on for 1 minute or till it feels slick.spray off with high pressure. You will have a slight shine to every thing and never touched it with a brush
A good buff and polish would really help this truck out.. Yes,paint inst perfect but I have done this on vehicle I owned before and do a good job, polish it out a couple times it will shine like mad and look like a new truck from 10 feet away! Chrome too,it would be worth the few hours to do a good job, since this truck isnt a rust bucket!! Yes,imperfections will show up closer but it looks like someone cares and not a clunker, big difference!!! Plus it will look better! I cleaned a white 1965 Fury 20 years ago and I used spray nine to wash it and it did a great job getting all the dirt that was stained onto the paint! I then buffed the car and put 4 coats of wax on it and the paint really did look great..I got the car running and sold it a bit later on,interior was like new,no rips, dash looked new, trim etc..seats were not ripped either..Downfall for myself it was a 4 door with a 318 wide block (not the 318 most know of) but for $300 the car made me a nice profit of $2800! Yeah, dirty old Fury that looked to be the paint condition of this truck.. My car turned out great and I am picky as I paint cars!! I did add a set of magnum 500's and put a duel exhaust system and found a 4 bbl intake and 650 carb(I also have loads of parts)...I drove the car for a few months it really blew my mind how good it looked with spray nine and wax job..5 hour polish/wax/wax/wax/wax... I do bodywork/paint restore old Mopar's for a hobby but I like pretty much any older 1980-older American vehicle now...Always did like these 1973-1979 Ford trucks..Probably because my Uncle had a new green 1976 Supercab F250,was the top line, wood trim interior, padded ceiling, chrome trim and two tone green.. Sorry for the novel,I like to talk...Love the truck will watch a few more videos and probably sub to you...I don't just sub just willy-nilly,sorry..... * my 9 year old daughter said willy-nilly the other day though it was funny such and old saying.
Cam VanDerHorst this thing definitely isn’t high end. But I do want to try to buff it up a little. I really want to get all the trim shiny. There are some spots where it has had some kind of repair/blend done and it shows. There also used to be some kind of lettering and logo on the door that’s visible in certain lights and angles. I’ll be tackle if that soon.
@@shadetreegarage4140 A clay bar treatment is well worth the effort before polishing. You'll be surprised what you can pull out of the paint without cutting it!
Sure looks a ton better after that pressure wash. I'll bet a real good buff would make it real nice. Might have to be careful where the paint looks a little thin on the hood but otherwise I think you should polish that thing!
I mean. It sat for years. Vines grew up through the engine bay. Mice, spiders, wasps built homes in the exhaust. The first time I opened the air cleaner a bunch of debris fell into the carburetor of which had a pile of gas dust in it. What’s a little soap gonna do?
looks like a CB antenna on driver front fender..and after a tune up and a detail it feels like everything works better as we drive down the road..the brain has a way of convincing us that all is well..lol.
Hey man check out your Channel copyright tab on RUclips studio. Someone reuploaded this video. Did the same to me and noticed your video on his page also.
Truck lookin better now. A new shift knob would be one of my priorities, as shifting without a knob doesn't feel good!
That was a satisfying watch.I like when older vehicles are cleaned up like that.Great old truck.I have an old '77 red ford i use to mud bog.
It really is amazing how solid the metal is on this truck for having sat in a field for years. Awesome score for sure
Yeah nowdays start rotting in couple of years
It helps to be away from the road salted Midwest.

The trim is super nice. I’m gonna shine it up here soon!
The 1979 is my fave. Sold mine a few years back because she wasn't getting used. Seeing yours makes me miss her.

Aaa mira que cambió, ya necesitaba esa lavada, se ve increíble, Algún día yo tendré una así. Una pregunta ¿cuanto te costo?
Good way to crack your block, spraying a hot engine with water.

Cam VanDerHorst yes it did! I need to do some buffing and polishing now!
@@shadetreegarage4140 I used to detail high-end musclecars for a living, preserving original paint. If you have any questions, I'm happy to help!

Man I love that truck great score good luck with it.
Its amazing how many tiny imperfections show up and go away when you wash a car
water fills the scratches so they disappear

Yes. Buffing is in the works.
Love the truck! Great videos.
Nice truck ! Might want to pick up a fan shroud if you can find one.
I also want to find a good, original metal radiator
Awesome truck!! Good job cleaning👌👌
Bummer, the grill surround was almost perfect. That truck got resto written all over it. Nice find.
Hell that bed might be in perfect condition under that bedliner
Nice truck
Luv the passenger door mirror.
Let’s see if it starts wait where’s the key 😂😂😂😂😂
Start in the first try
Love that ford!
Incredible job, nice going
Cleans up good for a Ford
It looked good but I can’t believe you sprayed down the engine distributor plug wires with soap and water that’s just. Crazy

Should have changed the fluid in the transmission before you drove it. If you have trouble. Let this be a leson.
If someone took care of this truck in the shape it's in it would last another 20 plus years
Oldschool Man!!!
Dual tanks thats hard to find
Looks great!

Looks great!!!
The difference is night and day
Man that was awesome

Did you finally get a new battery for the girl?
Yeah. She got a new bunch of stuff

This truck shouldn't say infield it should have been used all these years
Whata beauty!!
Another surviver. Yeaaaa
