Compact Accuracy International AT-LE Law Enforcement Rifle [SHOT Show 2020]

- Accuracy International is working on bringing their AT-LE rifle to Law Enforcement this year. It is based on the AX design and has a shorter 16 inch barrel, designed to fit into small spaces where police officers can fit their precision rifles into their patrol cars. It also has a threaded barrel for suppressors that LE agencies can purchase from Accuracy International as well.
Also available is the updated version of the AI AX rifle, designed for the ASR competition. It has an integral 20 MOA mount, in addition to an RRS mount that allows the rifle to be mouted directly to an RRS tripod.

What i dont really get is why they are presenting LE Only models. I get that its a UK company, and they are used to totally overkill gun laws. But.. where is the point with boltaction rifles?
Or are they just selling different setups out of the box for LE? Not different models?
I really liked AI so far. But if they are trying to pull some fudd shit, i'm reconsidering.

even if its for LE, its a bit overkill imo. there are a ridiculous number of options for sniper rifles, AI is an excellent manufacturer, but for the price there are easily a dozen others.

“I really liked AI so far...” -someone who will never own an AI and uses this (or any other stupid excuse) as the reason they’ll never buy one. Guys...there’s no difference between the LE model and what you can do as a consumer when you order from MH and get an AT with the AX but stock upgrade. The LE model is nothing more than an AT an AX stock upgrade that’s offered at a special rate to LE officers/depts...which have shit budgets for specialty billets as it is, let alone their snipers. Stop acting like a bunch of airsoft kids and coming up with excuses as to why you won’t buy one.

why keymod though?
Holland slimmer system then MLok and the slightly greater strength makes absolutely no difference on a sniper rifle. So for everyone other then actual combat troops KeyMod is equal or in niche situations better. Case in point, Accuracy International is the highest end in sniper rifles and they use it so all the neck beards who complain are wrong. (Greater strength isn’t always better, although as a one system for all guns MLok is the clear choice just like 1913 rails, except when it isn’t).

Why the Key Mod hate. I think the greatest sniper rifle Chasis system company knows what they are doing better then the neck beards who read forums and act like soldiers in combat. MLok is definitely stronger but at the cost of weight and thickness. So if your choice is an IR magnifier or a more secure attachment system that really makes no real world difference I’ll take the extra equipment.

Cops don’t need sniper rifles. They’re not supposed to be a standing army of solders. Pistols, shotguns and a carbine rifle in the patrol car should be the limit for civilian police.
Civilian police? That's a contradiction friend. And in regards to LE, this includes SWAT and any special response team. Often high precision is required for those individuals considering what they are often responding to.
Police snipers can defuse hostage situations but I agree no one needs an AI in their freaking patrol car
If an Agency is giving an Officer a rifle like this, it's because he/she is needed in a Hostage/Other serious incident. Smaller Organizations with part-time SWAT-like agencies can issue an Officer a rifle like this to keep in his/her patrol car should that call be given. Keeping a small number Officers/Agents capable of responding to crisis situations is how we prevent a North Hollywood Shootout.

Yes as opposed to military police, or the military in general. It’s not a contradiction. About SWAT, have you seen them lately... if they don’t look like solders in full kit with armored transport vehicles then I don’t know what solders are. Also, have you heard about their no-knock raids and the trail of innocent civilian blood left behind?

They also sell all their rifles as civillian versions, which you can spec to bei virtually identical to what they offer to LE!

I dont get how these types of companies are even still around at this point. A LE only bolt gun?! Like really? The only need for this would be like swat teams who would need like 5 of these rifles, max. No patrol officer would be running around with a bolt gun rather than an AR. Signs of a dying fudd company trying to stay relevant by catering to like california type LEO.
Uhhhhhh, have you never heard of Accuracy International before man? Their military contracts alone guarantee they don't go out of business. I might not agree with them making LE only bolt guns, but they're certainly not a fudd company.

Accuracy International builds the best sniper rifle in the world!!! Talking sniper rifles these guns are the definition of bad ass and civilians can buy their rifle's this is just a special version of it as a promotion for LE if you want you can put the same package together yourself by purchasing the rifle and some accessories separately.
Why are they introducing new guns in 2020 with keymod? Be woke and use MLOK
KeyMod is both lighter and slimmer. It makes sense to one of the best rifle chasis companies in the world then it should either also make sense to you or at least make you second guess what you think about KeyMod.
The guy who commented before doesnt know shit. It's a proprietary AI keyslot mounting system, said to be stronger than keymod. Either way it's just made to be more money in the pocket of a fudd company. Mlock is proven by the navy's own testing to be stronger and more durable.
