When he said “it was called…” I really expected him to say ‘Candlecove’ 😢
EXACTLY what I was thinking
Definitely some Creepypasta inspiration going on here.
you should watch season 1 of miniseries "Channel Zero" if you haven't already
saaaame
legendary
Our main man sounds like he just took a giant hit from a bong
HAHA yeah!! and his friend is right behind him saying "Hold it! Hold it! Itll make you higher!"
thats probably what you need before, during or after watching the movie
i cant wait
Lol Watching this trailer baked rn. This is def gonna be a trip
Every once in a while you come across a comment that just nails it. Well done.
"Was she a great big fat person?"
This trailer has me intrigued and confused in the best way possible. Can't wait to see what Jane Schoenbrun has in store for us!
A24 inspires me.. My parents said if i get 70K followers They'd buy me a professional camera for recording..begging u guys , literally
Begging..
@@namantherockstarhush
nope!
@@namantherockstarnot a problem man. Go chase your dream.
@@namantherockstar You got it. You'll always regret not trying to do what you love. Trust me.
Having seen the movie I can tell you the thing about this trailer is, while technically it shows some (not all) of the best images of the movie, seeing the actual film will give them context and narrative that I guarantee will blow you away. You will never guess how these images fit together. Very, very special Film. The top comment on this trailer bothers me every time I rewatch it, so just wanted to put in my two cents :)
blow people away of how shit and stupid it is
A movie like this isn’t going to have its trailer spammed all over television so it has to do the best it can to draw someone in. I also got no sense of its narrative structure which is my biggest complaint with big budget trailers.
Literally, the top commenter likely watches those AI movie recaps and thinks they’ve watched the movie
I make a habit to only watch half of a trailer because they often spoil the movie.
I'm not sure what to really think of the trailer. The saying I saw the tv glow, that had me thinking Poltergeist. Then when the two started talking about a show they watched as a kid. It makes me feel like they have been brain washed.
I'm going to go watch it and if I don't like it, I blame YOU. Lol. Just kidding, if I don't like it, that's on me and my taste alone. I never let someone dictate what I might like and don't like. I wish you all the best and like the Terminator said, I'll be back. Lmao
The song is Broken Social Scene - Anthem for Seventeen Year Old Girl
think its a cover by yeule, not released yet!!!
Omg yes! I used to love that song🩷
Thank you. I was about to ask.
@@MostLikelyMuyeah, it definitely sounds like yeule!
Memory unlocked!
Knowing what this movie is fully about, I can expect a few folks to cry in the theater and some folks not know wtf they're even crying about. Looks beautiful.
Sounds about par for the course for A24.
What is this movie truly about? “Otherness”? “Trans-ness”? What?
@@fragileguyguy7226 The latter. Basically realizing that you're a different person on the inside. The director described it as an "egg-crack" moment
such a cringe comment lol
@@sha7303Can you imagine that you like different things than other people?
Saw this at the Berlin Intl Film Festival with a Q&A from Jane Schoenbrun, it is quite unlike anything I've ever seen before and I saw that in the best way possible. Truly something special. That said, it is going to be incredibly divisive, people will either love it or hate it with no in-between.
Also, little disheartning seeing so many comments prasing A24 and not Jane themselves, it's their movie! They worked incredibly hard on it and it is a very personal project, they deserve all the praise in the world.
anyone ask about the obv inspiration from Candle Cove creepypata/aka season 1 of Channel Zero - same story too
@@JAWNDOEmusic She didn’t mention Candle Cove but she did mention Buffy, X-Files, Twin Peaks, and “Nick at Nite” programming as all being inspiration.
Is it a horror flix?
I just hope it's not another capital A Art movie where the real monsters were depression all along.

was it actually that good?
@ScruffyWarlord No way! That person worked on this terrible movie. It's obviously as bad as a movie can be. "We all have to use our special powers." C'mon, Man!

just a bunch of neon colors...
@@GodsJanitor y eso lo hace un buen tráiler
@@GodsJanitor I prefer some nice colors and a little bit of roughness over the basic studio lighting and the clean digital look of other modern movies.
Do they make trailers?
@@user-sl309jd90 yeah
This movie was partially filmed in my little town of keansburg, New Jersey. I remember when they were filming this movie, everyone in town was excited, I understand why they wanted to use our little town. We have that boardwalk, that is a gem.... and our New York skyline views can not be beat.
Your probably seeing Staten Island. I live across from the skyline Exit 153
the best view is from Bayonne/Union City, stop it
@aramdosuzman if you go to any town around here... Keyport, union beach.old bridge, Sayreville or even the highlands.. we have the best view. Period, end of sentence!

I never seen a Gregg Araki movie before, but Yhara Zahd gave me the impression that I know more about them otherwise.
Only in the colorful, otherworldly, nihilistic, apocalyptic, speaking vaugly during the trailer kinda way 😏
i see it i think its the i cant think of the word but its the way the characters are speaking like its the end of the world
nihilism
Gregg Araki and Richard Kelly had a baby, this.
Looks like somebody else read the Candle Cove creepypasta LMAOOO
that's exactly what I thought of too!
I thought the same!
I saw Channel Zero a couple of weeks ago. I convinced my boyfriend to watch it with me. I ended up apologizing for putting both of us through such a boring experience.
I thought the official name was channel 0 😅
The director's previous film is also like creepypasta or an arg
There's a movie released tis year called double blind which is like russian sleep experiment
@@eliasezequiellopez8121WTF? Channel Zero is amazing
got that pink neon, you know it's an A24 banger
Saw this at Sundance. INCREDIBLE and one of my faves so far this year.
Confirming (not a spoiler) that this is NOT about that one creepypasta 😆 It's a phenomenal movie that's worth seeing at the cinema for a full aural-visual-emotional experience! I enjoyed it much more than "World's Fair" and I think it'll definitely have that polarizing "love it" or "hate it" effect with audiences.
Is it spooky at all? I just can't do horror films that are super overt cause, then I'll get super crazy nightmares.
@JustinCage56 ~ It does have some really creepy moments, most of which are extremely affective. It isn't straight-forward, in-your-face horror in a demonic or psycho killer way, though... but, yeah, I wouldn't recommend it if disturbing/nightmarish imagery has a negative effect on you. 😕

I absolutely LOVED the uneasy yet satisfying feeling of We're All Going To The World's Fair. I'm so stoked for this movie, and I'm so excited to hear what Alex G brings, I can't get enough of his music.
I was wondering why it reminded me of "We're All Going to the World's Fair" and realized it's the same director!

“I saw my face glow” when this trailer dropped.
Hype to see Jane Schoenbrun have access to an even larger audience. Dope. Also, Broken Social Scene sample can't be bad.

Broken Social Scene says you're welcome
This is giving me mad memories of Ghostwriters, that 90's show with that slime monster. Hype!!
A24 just does not miss. I pray they never lose sight of what makes them unique. Talk 2 Me. Civil War. This & many others.
Oh thats such a cool concept, its like goosebumps a bit but on some outer world
That's what I thought as well! I can't wait for this.
Yes, exactly this. Goosebumps was so good.
It's actually an allegory and metaphor for queer self-denial, With Owen trying to escape from his reality, hiding from himself.

I want this soundtrack NOW
Yeule is such an amazing music artist! So happy to hear her in this trailer!
God, I have no idea what the hell this was. I want more.
I will watch everything Jane Schoenbrun directs
Might just be the most A24 movie A24 has made so far.
A24 is a production studio, they don’t “make” any of these movies lmfao
@@Jermheadyeah, they’re specifically a distribution company so they’re primarily in charge of the theatrical + digital release of the movies and not the actual production. they do have an in-house production studio but they’ve only produced a small percentage of their releases. but a24 has done such a stellar job crafting their brand that people don’t see them as mere distributors and give them an oversized amount of credit for their catalog.
@@Jermhead and what exactly does a production studio do?
Pretty sure that's the actor from the recent video game "The Quarry." I loved this director's first horror film "We're All Going To The World's Fair" so I can't wait to see this!
When she asked if he likes girls and he said "I think I like TV shows." That line hit hard. I'm STOKED.
Me too man😂 me too
Is she a he? That voice don't sound too convincing
Potential aroace character? 👀
Nowadays A24 logo is enough to attract audience to watch the movie on a giant screen. I think before a24, marvel studios was the only studio who attracted the audience to watch their movies on a giant screen with just their studio name and reputation. Thank you A24 for bringing the glorious days of cinema back. No hate to Marvels I love them but a24 is something else 😊
the cast is casting. I am so excited. This is such a cool idea too. Reminds me of the message "Little Nightmares 2" was trying to portray with the tv people. I love the soundtrack as well, and the colors. Just all around, looks like it'll be a great film. Definitely my most anticipated watch for a long time.
I really want to see this so badly for some reason, there’s something weirdly hypnotic about the trailer
Emma Stone produced another gemstone ❤️
So happy for this side of her
I’m inside my TV where everyone but I can see me.
“WHY ARE YOU HERE!?”
i watch this trailer every day, sometimes multiple times a day. i have the release day on my calendar. i am ready.

Looking forward to the new Jane Schoenbrun!
At 1:45 you can see Pete and Pete.

We are old
I love those shows
When my brother and i were around 7 we had one of those huge floor style TVs with the Knobs... we BOTH watched that TV Create a Wavering Portal for about 3 seconds.
The first and last shots were great Nightmare on Elm Street throwbacks!!!
I had to turn on closed captions because "The Pink Opaque" is some Rural Juror kinda naming
Ha!
It fills me with an indescribable joy when someone else understands an extremely obscure pop culture reference. you (30) rock!
I saw 1 minute of this trailer. I'm in.
The Pink Opaque? Huh. One of my fave Cocteau Twins albums.
Saw this at Sundance, and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it for weeks, I can't wait to watch it again!
Can't wait for the wide release!!!
Yeules music is so perfect for this!!!
The broken social scene cover is awesome
when i was a child me and my mother sat in the living room. a storm came by feirce wild and lightning. A power pole was stuck next to our place. next thing i know after the bang was a glowing ball of light emerge out of the T.V. looked almost white hot/ yellow+red. roughly the size of a yoga ball you sit on at the gym. It just hovered ~1-2 feet off the ground as it emerged from the T.V. towards us then vasished after 3-4 ft of movement from the T.V. That memory is burning into my mind. you should note the T.V. wasnt damaged from this it worked fine after.
Creative as heck. Glad all the art film kids choose A24.
I Saw The TV Glow looks visually stunning for A24!
Yes! I've been waiting for this. Jane Shoenbrun's follow-up to "We Are Going to The Word's Fair": Apparently, she is developing an adaptation to Imogen Binnie's "Nevada."
I was hooked as soon as I saw A24!
Looks like some ‘Life is Strange’ sequel that went down the horror route and actually had a plot.
Jane always somehow manages to get the biggest indie musicians to work on her projects.
This looks insanely good!
First movie in a while that I'm genuinely excited to see!!!

Anthems for a 17 year old girl is banger of a song
Okay I stopped watching the trailer halfway thru because I already know I'm giving them all of my money to see this.
The beautiful color blocking has me in love already 😮❤
“Amanda the Jedi” was talkin about this Movie. I mustn’t finish the trailer now. Gotta wait till it comes out.
Who else is just here because of Alex G?
"Were alll going to the worlds fair" was probably my favorite movie from 2021. So im all onboard with anything Jane Schoenbrun does next so im not gonna watch the trailer, though I will share it haha.
A24 dramatic glows is the signature ❤❤love it
I hear a cover of Broken Social Scene's "Anthems For A Seventeen Year-Old Girl" in the trailer 🙌
That actor is everywhere he must be well liked in Hollywood or he has a peak agent

ALEX G MENTIONED??MUST WATCH🥰
I forgot his name but the male main character of this movie played a character in the video game the Quarry! I knew he looked familiar! Glad to see he’s still doing horror related stuff!
It’s riding a bizarre line (from what i can grasp from the trailer at least) of “is it horror, adventure, romance?” It certainly has my attention, and I’ll probably check it out. 😁
I do like Justice Smith quite a bit, so i can’t wait to see him shine ☺️
Does anyone know the name of this song?
Thank you in advance…

@@lunaa9408 You rock. Thanks!
Love Brigette Lundy-Paine. She needs more work.
Such a great title. Whats next ? I saw a car speeding, or i saw the fan go round and round. 😂😂
Reminds me of Candle Cove, which takes place in my little town of Ironton, which is still stuck in the 80's and 90's in places, it is unbelievable to see, coming from a town that ages all at once, if anyone knows what I mean. There's potholes older than me in that town, I was taught history by the same teacher that taught my dad and grandpa... Our school had so many nooks and crannies and looked like an American Hogwarts. I digress..😂
No epilepsy warning in the trailer. Literally could and probably has hurt people
I just saw this movie at the Atlanta Film Festival and I want to warn anyone reading this to stay away. It's absolutely awful. I don't say that lightly, generally I'm a pretty positive guy. But the audience was actually laughing out loud at moments and gasped in disbelief when the end credits rolled because we couldn't believe that's all the film had to offer. I understand some people in Trans community felt they really connected with the film, but my friend who's Trans saw the film with me and she hated it too. Do NOT waste your time with this one.
This might be the most A24-looking movie of all of the A24's movies
This was at Sundance and I could not have hated this thing more. Spoiler alert: it is all one big metaphor for being transgender and the ending is one of the worst endings you will ever see. Two kids are obsessed with a 90s TV show which basically represents being transgender/embracing queerness. The main girl “escapes” into the TV show, basically accepting her queerness whereas the main boy only ever sees the show around him in glimpses but can never fully transition (male to female, he is seen in a dress at one point experimenting with his gender) due to his family and fears. The movie ends with a flash forward years into the future where he’s a sad old man working a dead end job, never transitioning and living his truth. The end! Horribly depressing feel bad ending that contradicts its whole in your face “there is still time” message. I guess there isn’t still time because this dude is a sad walking corpse. But on top of the lazy hamfisted metaphors that feel like a privileged attempt at queer cinema, it’s also totally derivative of David Lynch at times down to the smoking shack from Lost Highway and a full length Roadhouse performance halfway through the film. An utterly pointless movie devoid of any worth and I couldn’t recommend it less. 👎🏻
I was already really intrigued, but now you just made this a guaranteed watch for me. Sounds fucking great 🔥🔥🔥
@@MarkyMarcSpector I can guarantee that you and everyone else are gonna walk away from this disappointed and frustrated. Also didn’t even mention that the two lead actors give Razzie Award level performances.
