Even as a smoking melted ruin, Harrenhal is still a formidable castle. Notice how in almost every war following the conquest, those who occupied it would assemble their forces there as it was the only castle large enough to house a sizable host.
In the novel Jaws Hooper is killed and eaten by the shark and Quint gets tangled in rope and drowns. In the film Hooper survives by scuba diving tot he ocean floor and Quint is bitten in half and dies. Who cares?
I would do so much shit to live in Highgarden. Its the most 'high fantasy' castle in Westeros, and just looks so clean with the white marble and flora. Tyrells stay winning
You truly deserve a massive following, absolute natural at gauging how much information to cover and effortlessly funny! love the vid, can't wait to watch more. Happy holidaze!
Talking about the eyrie “Not even the winter winds can touch” bruh they leave the eyrie every winter and stay at “the gates of the moon” only a minute into the video but yikes.
Like Winterfell, the wall and the Tower in Oldtown, Storm's End was built with the help of Brandon the Builder. Several attempts were made before it finallly stood
Just if Tyrell actually put there money in for there military they would actually be the richest house and the strongest house in Westeros if they are going by the book 100,000 men I don’t know if they say they can grow that much in the tv show they was taken out so easy lol
I hate that show inclusion as it ignores asoiaf history the reach has been fighting off invasions from the Lannisters, Durrandons, Dornish and riverkings for centuries once even conquering most of the Stormlands save storms end. The taking of highgarden and the reach should have been an extremely bloody thing
@ yeah it was before tey was ruled by the gardeners house Lannister wasn’t a house then it was ruled by the casterly Lannister’s are cut throats ironically when bron said this it was funny because it was true every house once belong to another house longest raining house was stark they built there house from the beginning from bran the builder
this is only from the show in the books. winterfell is by far the largest Castle in all westeros Cassidy Rock is half mountain, not really a castle in the same sense. however, winterfell is built on a hill with a massive Castle shadaversity a RUclipsr explains just how big winterfell is it has the castle the Great Hall. the weirwood with the forest The granary everything is in the center. not off to the side. all in the center all on this giant Hill and then you have a second wall that is from the bottom of the hill. yet just as tall as the wall on top of the hill and then you add the small little winter town to it and winterfell. could easily house 100,000 men and it would still have more room for more of the top three castles in westeros that could withstand against a million men is Kings landing winterfell and herren Hall. those are the three largest city/castles
I put King's landing in this list. not necessarily because the red Castle is that large. but the city is quite massive housing half a million people. the walls and the red keep isn't the only Castle in the books that King's landing has. technically it has four. you have the red keep. you have the guards quarters which is like a castle in itself. you have the armory and then you have the bailiffs Castle. all in all pings landing is just truly incredible but westeros if you go watch that RUclipsr that I spoke of and hehe goes out of his way to build it in a model just to show how big it is. if the showrunners had gone by the books winterfell would have been so damn. massive that when the King and when joffrey and cersei had arrived, they wouldn't have mocked winterfell or the Stark so much because of just how monumental that Castle is. it is a marvel and a show of of greatness
1:57-- "All thanks to walls so thick you think they were trying to keep the sea out"-- shouldn't keeping the sea out of a castle that was built right up against the sea be something they had to think about?
Wait, didn't castle black have outer walls that kept that wildlings out when they tried to take it? If not, why did they have a gate at the road if they could literally just go around it?
@@adrianbuck8772 I mean, it makes a little more sense if you think about it. Why waste the money and resources on walls around the castle when the only danger they were in was from creatures that would have to climb over or go through a 700 foot tall, 300 foot wide, magical wall without anyone seeing them. Meanwhile the forces of house Stark would come to the aid should they ever be attacked on the south side of the wall.
Royal fleet + Redwyne fleet. Both were the only ones who could rival the Iron Fleet in size and once Stannis cleared the way to the Isles by defeating the Iron Fleet, everyone joined in
I thought Winter Fell didn't have walls and that's why the defenders were all out in then open with their trebuchets in front of them during the battle against the Night King and his undead army.

This is exceptionally well done. Good narrative voice, visually solid and lots of information for a short video.
Appreciate !!
The moon door is only on the floor in the show. It's a traditional door in the books.

@ still doesn’t make it any less inaccurate.
@@MightyJosh1985 it's better and makes more sense for the name tho so what now?
wish those castles do air bnb : D
You can stay in a castle here in the Uk! And it’s relatively cheap, look up St Briavels YHA.
The dreadfort would be....interesting.
@ “ooo nice an all leather interior……….wait a minute”
That would be awesome
According to Ned stark in the book he says to Arya that Winterfell is bigger than Red keep
Needs more views! Keep it up man

This is a great video and it's extremely well made, but I'm beyond disappointed that I didn't see Blackhaven, which is my absolute favorite castle
Moon door is a door, not a hatch. Hatch is TV series, though IIRC GRRM quite liked the idea of a hatch.

Harrenhal is the biggest castle in the books what are you on about
the Moon door opens to the side of the castle, not the floor
Who cares about the crappy books. The show is all that matters.

HighGarden was beautiful
As long as the walls of Oldtown stand tall, I'm good. Hope Euron doesn't give it the AoT treatment
The images from grey water watch arte from moat cailin
Wait, didn't castle black have outer walls that kept that wildlings out when they tried to take it? If not, why did they have a gate at the road if they could literally just go around it?
Walls on tv no walls in books
In the Book the Nightswatch trys to cover up the holes between the buildings with stuff like wagons to compensate for the lack of Walls.

storm's end. isn't it brand the builder build that castle?
Anyone know the background music? i know its GoT music but its got a different vibe then the original theme
>Winterfell is smaller than the Red Keep 😂😂😂
Bran the builder built Storm's End
That's a myth.

Great video but why such little views?
That's not Graywater Watch, that's Moat Cailin.

How the hell did they get into pike during the rebellion? lol.

Well, if you tried to do a size comparison, then just, y'know, read the books.
The books sucked, just like Jaws and the Godfather, the screen took pulpy crap and turned it into gold

Same with the battle of the bastards when ramsay decides to meet Jon on open field right outside the castle
AMAZING!

miles and feet.... so primitive.
dude at least research how to pronounce the names properly before making a video on something you dont know anything about
