Great hunt & educational video. I've been considering a 6" coil for my 'Nox because I hunt a lot of trashy areas especially around old abandoned farm houses and barns. I have heard that the coil provides excellent target separation. Now I'm convinced. Thanks!
superb coils those " puck,s ) use one on my vaq and hits coins deep , the machine is so much more reactive and altough it is a way different machine , the outcome is the same , use these coils and you will put way the big ones for a loooong time
Thanks! Most targets were dug before update. I have only been out on one short hunt since update. I did see improvement in depth accuracy and more stable ID after update. Pin pointing seemed the same for me but I had no issues with it before update.
The equinox itself works great on the beach. As far as the 6" coil it would not be my first choice for the beach simply due to its size and how little area you can cover with it at a normal swing rate. I would recommend using the stock coil over the small coil on the beach.
I'd have to see 2 Nox's side by side running both coils. My new 6" isn't quite blowing my skirt up. I like the size because I hunt a lot of corn fields and timber, but I haven't noticed it performing any better than the stock as far as separation goes.
The performance is pretty clear to me. I found all of my targets including a bag full of clad all in areas I have hammered with 3 different machines and several coils. I'm sure I just missed some targets but many were tangled in iron and other trash very shallow. The small coil allows for running higher sensitivity as well which makes up some of the depth loss. This coil wont be best in every scenario but in trashy areas I will always run it.
I assume you are saying that based on the brown spot? These are local city parks that get pounded daily by detectorists so it is possible. However I am not sure why they would dig the hole and leave a clad dime in it. Unless they retrieved silver and left clad just to be mean. Lol
@@stevejames9510 Gotcha. I have done that even on freshly dug plugs at my local park. Some people dont use a pin pointer which I think sometimes causes them to miss the target and give up. Or they dont rescan the hole after retrieving a target.
@@stevejames9510 I think so. I have had nothing but great things to report about this machine. I absolutely love it. I sold my etrac when I bought it last year and I just sold my ctx as well. I have hunted a few days now after updating to 2.0 as well with good results.
That could be. This park has been pounded for years. I see other detectorists there all the time. I think this area just had some dead grass from picnickers dumping stuff out.
How is the accuracy on the depth on the machine compared to actual results? I’m interested in purchasing a new one but I’ve been spoiled and have learned my old Whites 6000/di. For the last 30yrs I hate to waste the money.
Depth accuracy is not a strong point on equinox in my opinion. I dont put a lot of stock in depth meters on any detector though to be fair. If it is a good sound and numbers I dig it no matter the depth.
925 detecting I had a friend that had a ctx and I followed behind him and found coins he had missed. But I’m definitely interested in the Equinox 800 mostly from all the videos I’ve been watching it seems to be a great machine.
Do you always search in all metal and then switch to discrimination? Or is it suitable to always search with discrimination? I have just got the Nox 600 & digging up loads of trash with ID’s in the high 20’s. Really confused so far with what I’m doing wrong
I search with discrimination on most of the time. If I find a target that is choppy or only sounding good from one or two directions I will hit the horseshoe button and check it again to see if there are iron tones and numbers. If there is it is almost always a nail or other trash. Just have to be careful if the target is very deep it may have a little iron grunt even if it is a coin. You just have to listen to and dig lots of targets until you learn what different targets sound like and look like. You will always dig some trash or good fooled by some targets but you can cut out a lot of bad targets with practice. Good luck and happy hunting!
If I am not digging the cleanest holes it is because I am in an area that is not manicured and it doesnt matter. I always fill them back in and leave them clean. I have hunted these same areas for years and regularly see the groundskeepers and they have no complaints. You cannot even tell a few days later that I was there. I have never actually had one complaint. I use a dirt cloth and take great care if I'm in a manicured area or yard or even an area of the park that is highly visible. I understand the concern and I have filled In many terrible holes left open and strewn about by other detectorists. Thanks for watching! HH!
@@davemiller8215 Well I have been hunting there for 5 years and I am friendly with groundskeepers and have had zero complaints from them or park patrons so I think the hobby is safe for now😉👍
Thanks for sharing! I've been searching for a good video on the 6" coil performance. I'm getting one for sure. Good job!
Thanks! Good luck with new coil. I think you will be very happy with it.
Nice finds! Congrats! Thanks for sharing the info on the 6 inch! GL & HH!

Thanks for watching. I think this coil would be a great tool for a trashy farm.
Nice finds, enjoyed the show. ATB GL and HH 👍👍
Nice hunt Ben! I got out and put a couple of hours on my 6” coil this weekend and have been pretty impressed with it so far.
Thanks! I think you will be very pleased with it. Can't wait to see what you find with it!
Ben have you used 6 inch on the beach yet
I like the 6" coil only in parks. I've tried it in trashy yards too. Thanks for sharing. Until next time HH&GL *Chris*
Good video! Thanks!
Nice job making the video!!!!!!
Thanks a lot!!
The pinpointing being off is a great tip. That’s gonna save me a few shovels full.
What’s the deepest you found silver with the 6” coil?
Nice hunt! Hopefully I'll have my 800 by next week. Weather here hasn't been good enough to get out either.
Thanks! Warmer weather is on it's way! I hope you can get out with your 800 soon! I'm sure you will love this machine. HH & GL!
its weather proof and water proof up to 10 feet
Awesome thanks

Are you recording with your cellphone? What cellphone holder are you using? Looks like it's attached to your detector
I use my phone for some clips but most recording is done on gopro hero 8.
Is this with the new update? Nice finds man!

Hi DB Thanks for subscribing I hope you enjoy my stuff as I did yours. Dennis
is that a palladium 950 in your hand i found one too at a beach with the equinox 800
Haha no its just my tungsten wedding band. I have never found any palladium.
Great video Ben. Let's get out soon
Thanks! It would be great to get out together again. Didnt end up going out Saturday due to the heat.
at 2:41 that hole has been dug before.

not for nothing dude....but you dig alot of really messy holes
