This is a little hard to understand unless you know the background of the comedian Al Murray and the character of the pub landlord, which is a very stoic British working man.... But Al himself, Is extremely intelligent and of impeccable speech..... Probably look at his, 'how global finance works' sketch, which he uses his own intelligence and expresses in a simple way via the pub landlord to explain what happens, you will love the new york bit.

Looks like you missed the "shi# or get off the pot" joke. In UK pubs (where Al is the pub Landlord) sometimes there's a queue to use the toilet (or pot) so somebody waiting may call out for them to hurry up in the same way Neil was being asked to come up for his description

Based on your previous videos of comedy reactions where you laugh more I think you would have enjoyed this more knowing this a 100% pompous patriotic pom character he is playing, it's not real. In saying that, he is a history buff in real life and you should watch some of his other bits involving history, equal parts hilarious and then informative, not 2 things you'd expect from an English geezer but here we are. (From an Australian - come at me you doom and gloom overcast every day sometimes funny but not always twats).
