REBEL SKUM!!! :D I managed to get out on my FIRST EVER trail ride on Friday in MI. Was a balmy 60 degrees. Loved it! I want to thank you, and your other 2 amigos for getting me stoked to do this. Now, I'm hooked.
Dirty Dancing movie was filmed in Lake Lure, NC. Beautiful area of the country, I grew up 10 miles from Lake Lure, miss it! Thanks for the great trail video!
Hey man....great getting updates for the van from all 3 of you... those trails looked so peaceful..... short trails but hopefully with the extension under way is a positive sign for the future....kudos dude !!!!
Winter is not letting go of its grip yet, snow, hail and rain this weekend. Hopefully its over and we can get back to riding. Thinking I may need to get a fat bike before next winter. Enjoy your ride. Take care
Heading to Whittier/Bryson City NC on Friday with my family for mom's and wife's birthdays for the weekend. Hope the weather holds up there, because it sucks in Southern Indiana now. Mid 30's and snow showers in the frigging middle of April. It should be in the mid 60's this time of year.
Spring has yet to, uh, sprung, yet here. We just got another 15cm of snow overnight. I was so looking forward to getting back out! Winter won't fuck off yet here.
Interesting you say you don't like watching trail videos before riding them. The irony is most of us watch your vids for exactly that reason. I remember planing our trip to Derby, watching your vids and getting excited. It's never quite the same as riding them for real but we all really appreciated the build up.
Great ride Brian definitely looks like spring is coming to your area Long time coming. And as it appears I have the most stupid accident and broke my ribs again. Just starting to warm up in the UK as well. So glad that my three favourite subscriptions are together again. Roll on the next six weeks so I can hit the trials again. Hope you three keep up the good work posting videos I need something to watch while I'm home crippled.
If you watch the video in it's entirety, at 16:17 Brian expresses interest in a bike computer. Brian didn't ask me directly but, he put that part of his riding footage in this video for a reason so....knowing that Brian would likely value my opinion as to what computer to get, I mentioned the one I'm happy with. To be more clear, Brian! Get yourself a bike computer and be sure it's the Wahoo Element Bolt. If you do, you won't be disappointed my friend!
I think that piece got lost in the translation! My bro has the Bolt too, my only hesitation with those is that I'd need to use the HR strap vs. a watch where it's just built in! Love the recommendations dude!
Watches with HR sensors are convenient, but a strap is way more consistent, especially when riding hard -- unless you want to turn the watch into a tourniquet. :)
Just love flow trails like that. Very similar to Mt Joyce here south of Brisbane, Australia! Taking a week off work next week to ride it and other trails in my area. Nice ride mate. Loved it!
I use a Garmin Edge 1000 which gives you altitude and all sorts of other information and details. I also love that you can upload trails and it will direct you. I am very happy with it.
If liked the trail then, now the extender and weed patch is complete. You’ll dig it now. My .02 - park at buffalo creek trail head, ride to end - get the climbing over with and enjoy the ride back
Brian, I mentioned to you before the Garmin Vivoactive HR (watch) has been a stellar tracker for me. Great that I don't have to put on my bike! The best part is that the watch will track many different activities. Since it has a skiing activity altitude will be tracked even when cycling. You can get on Amazon for 150 bucks now. Matter of fact I like mine so much I purchased a second one for when this one craps out on me. So far I've had for 2 years and it's been great. Battery life is awesome too! If you want a "computer" go with the Garmin 820. I'm also a roadie and have used this comp on my MTB as well. Not too big or bulky.
Yep, I have taken all of the recommendations to heart! I'm such a weirdo that I don't want to pull the trigger because that one has been out for almost 2 years, which means a new one should be coming out any day!
This is very true. However, that being said on the flip side you know that this one has been tried and bugs have been 'worked out'. Matter of fact I was looking at the latest iteration of Garmin wearables and I'm not thrilled with what I'm seeing in terms of design. The latest is a "rounded" version which I personally think blows. I believe this is what Garmin has replaced what I have with. buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/p/571520 While attractive for everyday it's not very sporty IMO. Again, I take my tracking seriously and I just bought a second Vivoactive HR (watch) because it's been so great that I'm going to be bummed when the one I've been wearing for 2 years finally craps out and I can't get another! At 150 bucks I didn't hesitate considering I paid 250 back in June 2016 for the one I'm currently wearing. I use it on every single MTB ride I go on. Best part is you don't have to wear a strap on! ;)
Hey Brian, if you ever want to get better at jumping try looking into a foam pit or airbag jump near you. I know for me, that really helped because I was able to try a bunch of different things without the risk of falling on dirt. It really is a different feeling when you can pump into the jump vs just dead sailoring it. It really helped me, figured you might want to give it a go.
Like the alternating directions on different days. I wish more of the multidirectional trails did this. There are a couple in my area that can get quite busy and sketchy on certain blind corners, this could help a lot.
Hey Brian , here in New Zealand we're in autumn and getting some tastes of winter weather , so trying to make the most of riding each weekend 🤘 Winter is coming.
Spring finally decided to make its way to Sweden. However, "spring" means wind and low temperatures haha. That loops looks sick! I wish we had more of that here.
Nice ride Brian...I am the same way, need some time for myself and like to get away on my own. Stoked to see my home area growing so much from a riding perspective. Miss the NC mountains.
Breaking the law, breaking the law!I was watching this and looking down the trail like I was riding. You shoulda done the trail extension! Happy trails
It's funny I love to watch videos of a trail ahead of time to have something to look forward to, or hope not to miss. I usually won't send anything sketchy looking blind, so I end up missing a bunch if I don't hike back to session it. And Bobo's video on heartbreak ridge convinced me NOT to attempt THAT climb! ha
I lived 20 min from here and never rode it. Visiting family this weekend. gunna send it, and thanks for breaking the rules, now I am going on Sunday lol. So glad when I punched this is I saw you, Seth or Alex did a video :P
Did about a third of the Monday loop this morning. Had a black bear crash out of a tree right beside me. I turned around and hauled it outta there lol.
i went to see "The Truman Show" without seeing the trailer back in the day when Jim Carey was doing shit like Ace Ventura and Dumb and Dumber. I was totally confused in the theater.
I always watch the trailers... That's how I identify good films. And even if the trailer shows too much, I use that as part of my choice. Simply because if they throw out there money shot in the trailer and have nothing else to offer me, well then its a shitty film.... Can u tell I'm a huge movie guy.. Lol
Biking With Bobo hey dude.... I saw @bkxc video from Bailey the other day.... I was totally expecting you to be there camping at the uplift point !!! Lol......
The app samsung health has an awesome feature that allows you to track and map all your health and exercise markers including mtn bike rides. It gives you a complete breakdown of the effort including elevation lost and gained.
Love your videos man! Would you do a video showing how to maintain (disassemble + lubricate all bearings and bolts) orbea rallon frame? I got one just like yours... would be great to have some advice :D
"screw you berm, I'll get you next time!" Haha 😆 Interesting , I've never seen a trail network dictate alternate directions depending on the day of the week
There is an app called map my hike by under armour. It tracks distance, speed, and altitude. Also it uses your GPS to create a map of where you went. It's no strava but it works really well in my opinion.
I've been using the Lezyne Macro GPS computer with a wahoo wheel sensor, I'm a first season enduro racer and well..my bike takes a beating so I didn't want to pony up for a Garmin, check em out!
Don't always have to follow the rules. In this case there was absolutly nobody there so nothing wrong with breaking the rule. And it payed off i guess, your second loop looked much more fun and smooth. Great riding!
Pain and pleasure-such a great mantra!
It gets me through it!!
REBEL SKUM!!! :D
I managed to get out on my FIRST EVER trail ride on Friday in MI. Was a balmy 60 degrees. Loved it! I want to thank you, and your other 2 amigos for getting me stoked to do this. Now, I'm hooked.
Glad to hear that man!!! One step at a time.
your cornering skills have improved so much lately! Great Vid
Thanks so much!
Now you have to go to Colorado and ride the Buffalo Creek trail system. Fun video. Thanks for sharing.
DEFINITELY want to get there!
Snow.... Yup just had another 14" snow fall lol. I'm movin south!! Great video, very scenic.
DANG!! Thanks Greg
Dirty Dancing movie was filmed in Lake Lure, NC. Beautiful area of the country, I grew up 10 miles from Lake Lure, miss it!
Thanks for the great trail video!
No way! That's awesome
NC is nutty right now! 80 on Saturday, 38 today!!
Unreal!!!
Nice sunny place for a ride. Different paths and speeds.
Yep, some good stuff!
Spring has not sprung in my neck of the woods , snowing ☃ We can only hope it might show up next week 🌷 Another great video .
Ahhh dang!
Hey man....great getting updates for the van from all 3 of you... those trails looked so peaceful..... short trails but hopefully with the extension under way is a positive sign for the future....kudos dude !!!!
Thanks Alistair!!
We know you're a moral guy, Brian! Thanks for showing us both routes! Great vid as usual.
Glad you liked it Chris!
Your jump progression is AMAZING.
I feel like I really hit a couple good ones in this!
Great publicity for a small and young trail. Thanks for a great video.
Glad to get the word out! Thanks Todd
Love getting this update and watching a video in the mornings while drinking some coffee. Good Monday morning already.
Love hearing that dude!
BKXC don't think I miss many. Been here since the DVO went on. Keep it up!
Love this layout to your videos - half vlog, half riding footage :)
Glad you liked it dude!
Winter is not letting go of its grip yet, snow, hail and rain this weekend. Hopefully its over and we can get back to riding. Thinking I may need to get a fat bike before next winter. Enjoy your ride. Take care
Brutal man!! Thanks Scott
Oh man, getting out at the right time!
I see you starting to hit more jumps. You inspire me to ride and more jumps to experience the full effects of riding the trails.
Trying, one step at a time dude!
Thanks for the taste B, were getting a snowstorm right now so the riding is a few weeks away still here in Alberta. Great trail down there in NC.
Ahhh brutal dude!
You got those thumbs over the bars at 5:12 ;) good ol’ days! Baha
You know it!!
Spring has yet to, uh, sprung, yet here. We just got another 15cm of snow overnight. I was so looking forward to getting back out! Winter won't fuck off yet here.
Oh man! Brutal
In Montreal freezing rain with ice everywhere your videos give us hope bro 🤘🚵♂️🇨🇦
DANG!!
reminds me of my trails back home (west Michigan) but love riding here in Colorado as well... such a tear
Nice!!
Interesting you say you don't like watching trail videos before riding them. The irony is most of us watch your vids for exactly that reason. I remember planing our trip to Derby, watching your vids and getting excited. It's never quite the same as riding them for real but we all really appreciated the build up.
Haha definitely! When you have absolutely NO IDEA what to expect it's good to get a little taste!
I love this video! It's not the best trail there ever was or in the most exotic of locations but the mix of the trail and your commentary is on point!
Thanks so much man!
Looks fun! Riding with a group is fun, but sometimes riding by yourself is better!
Yeah dude, solo time is really great time to get stuff sorted!
Nice riding brian. Good to see you learning how to jump and pump more.
More and more every day!
found myself reaching for my imaginary brake a couple of times!! lol keep up the good work!
Haha nice
Great ride Brian definitely looks like spring is coming to your area Long time coming. And as it appears I have the most stupid accident and broke my ribs again. Ahhhh brutal dude! Heal up
Brian, I just picked up the Wahoo Element Bolt.. best bike computer I've ever had. You won't be disappointed!
How can he be disappointing if you gonna be using it?
If you watch the video in it's entirety, at 16:17 Brian expresses interest in a bike computer. Love the idea of the trail! Thanks Brian for another great video!
Thanks Mark!
Just love flow trails like that. Very similar to Mt Joyce here south of Brisbane, Australia! Taking a week off work next week to ride it and other trails in my area. Nice ride mate. Loved it!

That's great!
Short trails are fun. You can get more reps and hit different lines in less time. Great video!
Such a good way to put it!
What a great little trail looks super fun....
It was a solid little loop!
That trail looks amazing, and you had it all to yourself!! Thanks for posting I'm heading out "our" Buffalo Creek this Saturday!
Nice! I gotta get to the Colorado buffalo creek
Brian's whipping in the big boy truck🤘
Hahaha yeah
Funny you mention the extended winter! Just got 25 inches in Wisco, WTH? Luckily heading to NW Gnarkansas Wednesday!
Holy moly!! Have a good ride dude
If liked the trail then, now the extender and weed patch is complete. You’ll dig it now.
My .02 - park at buffalo creek trail head, ride to end - get the climbing over with and enjoy the ride back
Holy crap that extension is a massive downhill!
Brian, I mentioned to you before the Garmin Vivoactive HR (watch) has been a stellar tracker for me. Great that I don't have to put on my bike! These are my kind of trails. Flowy, jumpy, and some nice uphill climbs. Super jealous of the people who live near this!
They're so fun!
Great video Brian 👍 looking forward to seeing your new custom bike 🚲👍
Thanks dude, it's coming soon!
great video, love your compassion for the trails and riding, keep up the great work
Thanks Mason!

That's a great call, man! I feel like I'm even afraid of the friggin airbag!
Like the alternating directions on different days. I wish more of the multidirectional trails did this. There are a couple in my area that can get quite busy and sketchy on certain blind corners, this could help a lot.
Definitely a good way to calm things down!
You guys are the best trio RUclipsr I love to follow... Say my regards to the boys... Liked and Shared as always... Thanks Brian...
Thanks so much man!
Spring has sprung a leak in my neck of the woods lol, always nice to ride somewhere new, another great vid :)
Awesome! Glad to hear it Gib
Nice to see you back in my homestate of NC. We have some awesome trails here even on the flatlands
Definitely an amazing place for riding!
You rebel Dirty Dancer! Reminds me a bit of Fireside Mountain. Will have to check it out.
Haha thanks bud
Hey Brian , here in New Zealand we're in autumn and getting some tastes of winter weather , so trying to make the most of riding each weekend 🤘 Winter is coming.
Nice, get some!
Keep up the great work! Can't wait to see you back in the PNW again!
Thanks dude!
Always climbing! When I was just in NC, I could tell who the locals were because they'd pass me and not even be close to the easy gear.
our summer in australia was extended well into autumn
Opposite year down undah!
Go with the flow!
I like the system they use there, nice for the variety.
I agree, gives it a little more spice.
Spring finally decided to make its way to Sweden. However, "spring" means wind and low temperatures haha. That loops looks sick! I wish we had more of that here.
Hahaha, damn!
Nice ride Brian...I am the same way, need some time for myself and like to get away on my own. Stoked to see my home area growing so much from a riding perspective. Miss the NC mountains.
It's pretty amazing how much riding they've got, I love it!
The rock stuck behind your chainring was Bad Karma from the trail Gods for going the wrong way on a Wednesday! Lol.
Hahaha yes!
Great ridin’ Bryan!
Thanks man!
Spring has kinda sprung in Iowa, we got a bunch of snow last weekend. Got a bit of cabin fever!
Damn!!
BKXC yeah, it sucks something fierce, got another round of snow starting early Wednesday morning. Looking at another 5 inches of snow 👎👎
Breaking the law, breaking the law!I was watching this and looking down the trail like I was riding. You shoulda done the trail extension! Happy trails
Haha that's great!
I totally agree about trailers, its funny to be surprised by movie and same with trials
Yep, sometimes I'll be the only one laughing in the theater because I didn't see the trailer and have the joke ruined!
Respect Brian for picking up that nasty trash! Less garbage is More fun!🤘
Amen!
Southern Ontarion just got a few inches of snow......in mid april
Brutal!!!
Here in Ottawa we just had a snow day in the middle of April!!!!!
DANG!
7:10 I didn't need subtitles. I speak "Gutted" too
Haha, the universal language
Getting another 20cm of snow up here in Calgary today...
AHHH, damn!
this guy is my spirit animal
😬👍
"....SCREW YOU BERM!!!!" - BKXC. Love it!
Haha thanks Vince!
That’s an awesome neighborhood trail isn’t it? I rode it 3 out of 6 days when I was on a multi family trip to chimney rock!!!
That's awesome dude! Can't wait until they expand it out.
Pain and pleasure! Way to go Brian... up here in Ontario. We are still enduring a nasty spring / winter storm. We still can't ride our local trails.😑
Brutal!! Hope it warms up soon
It's funny I love to watch videos of a trail ahead of time to have something to look forward to, or hope not to miss. I usually won't send anything sketchy looking blind, so I end up missing a bunch if I don't hike back to session it. And Bobo's video on heartbreak ridge convinced me NOT to attempt THAT climb! ha
Hahahha yes! I pushed my bike up Heartbreak Ridge for the enduro, oh man.
This is awesome Brian, I've got to get back to WNC with my Mountain Bike!!!!
Hell yes you do!
Sometimes to have a blast you have to break the rules, believe me I've done it before in my own trails, smiles not miles, nice vid Bryan👊💪
Haha thanks dude!
I lived 20 min from here and never rode it. Visiting family this weekend. gunna send it, and thanks for breaking the rules, now I am going on Sunday lol. So glad when I punched this is I saw you, Seth or Alex did a video :P
So jealous. I’m in upstate ny by syracuse and it’s 35 and raining still. Nothing but crap weather. Can’t deal with it anymore. I need to ride.
Holy moly, brutal!
Did about a third of the Monday loop this morning. Had a black bear crash out of a tree right beside me. I turned around and hauled it outta there lol.
Nice new glasses they look great!
Thanks!
BKXC it’s so good that despite your channel growth you still make time for fans in the comments!! Great work you’re my favourite RUclips channel
Youve got to do Green river game lands. You have to go up the same trail a couple times but the black trails there are bike park level steep.
Ahh, I think I have heard of "Bear Branch" before!
You're too friggin awesome bro, wish i could show some support . Anyway great vid. As always!
Leaving a comment like this is great support! I appreciate it
Well and truly Autumn, only ridden my bike twice in the last week. I've plugged my lights in though so I'll head out for a night ride tonight.
Ah dang!
Finally hit +1C in Canada. Another month till trails. Getting there
OOf!
what a flow... droppin!!!
It's a nice one!
Everything gets technical if you do it fast enough.
Great point dude, this got pretty hairy at some spots!!
Yep, still buried in deep snow up here in Minneapolis.
Damn!
That looks really fun!!
Tons!!
Great vid and thx for breaking the rules to show us both ways...keep it up!
Glad you appreciate that!
i went to see "The Truman Show" without seeing the trailer back in the day when Jim Carey was doing shit like Ace Ventura and Dumb and Dumber. I was totally confused in the theater.
I always watch the trailers... That's how I identify good films. And even if the trailer shows too much, I use that as part of my choice. lol, true dat
Hahahaha that's great
Biking With Bobo hey dude.... I saw @bkxc video from Bailey the other day.... I was totally expecting you to be there camping at the uplift point !!! Lol......
Who is this guy ? ⤴😂
@BKXC in my neck of the woods spring has sprung... A LEAK!!!
Hahaha, the ship is going down!
Yeah haha thats washington, all of you guys should come up here this summer
The app samsung health has an awesome feature that allows you to track and map all your health and exercise markers including mtn bike rides. It gives you a complete breakdown of the effort including elevation lost and gained.
Oh wow, awesome!
Wish I was there thanks for the video!
Thanks for watching!
Love your videos man!
Would you do a video showing how to maintain (disassemble + lubricate all bearings and bolts) orbea rallon frame?
I got one just like yours... would be great to have some advice :D
Haha your guess is as good as mine!!
Trail looks pretty nice. Lake lure is a few hours away from me. Need to check it out!
The trail extension is opening up SOON, so there will be a lot more miles out there.
What just happened? BKXC without gloves? No kneepads? Talking about jumping? Going the wrong way? Liked it. Keep'em coming.
Hahaha renegade
We still have ice rain and sleet covering the ground in Ontario hopefully only 1 more month....
Arggggh!
"screw you berm, I'll get you next time!" Haha 😆 Interesting , I've never seen a trail network dictate alternate directions depending on the day of the week
Haha. Yeah, I think it's a good way to get extra mileage out of a small loop!
BKXC yeah creative indeed.
There is an app called map my hike by under armour. It tracks distance, speed, and altitude. Also it uses your GPS to create a map of where you went. It's no strava but it works really well in my opinion.
Oh very nice!
BKXC I just wanted to say thank you for always replying to comments. I know it's hard with over 100k subscribers but it's really awesome!
I've been using the Lezyne Macro GPS computer with a wahoo wheel sensor, I'm a first season enduro racer and well..my bike takes a beating so I didn't want to pony up for a Garmin, check em out!
Nice, I dig the recommendations!
Don't always have to follow the rules. In this case there was absolutly nobody there so nothing wrong with breaking the rule. And it payed off i guess, your second loop looked much more fun and smooth. Great riding!
Glad I got to show it off!
The winter has really been extended. I just set up my bike for the first ride of the season. Hopefully it will be this week.
Good to hear Tommi! Get it!
Frickin' snake was fast!
BLACK LIGHTNING!
