@@mattakastarkill3r402 it's not dead, but the racing was far superior with these cars. Tuned to the max with horsepower and no reliance on aero dependence. It was all driver skill.

I used to work at a company where we made extremely high tier bolts, screws, nuts, and such like nit bits. Several of our customers were accounting agents in NASCAR. So every time I think about the odd 10,000 bolts and washers I made, because we usually had orders for 100,000+, I ultimately knew who I was making them for and end up watching nascar videos. They aren't on the track today because this was back in 2014 but it's still cool to be part of that chain. A crucial part. No bolts, screws, or nuts? Car no go far. Fun fact. These bolts and everything were made with a 1918 Acme "Gridley Automatic Turret Lathe". Some of these cars are held together by parts made out of a machine that's, at least now, 103 years old.
NASCAR needs to start a series running this body style of cars. I know there was a lot of complaints about how they all looked the same but basically they were just badass Late models, and that would make for a cool ass series nowadays. It’d probably become more popular than trucks and xfinity fairly quickly.
“Light the fuse, here comes the rocket.” I love that line.
Man that car just SCREAMS!
Newman from 02-04 was just a lightning rod. Dude went for it and was super fast
Back when qualifying meant something
Ugh, another "NASCURR is Deeeaadd"

The cars moved around because they weren't (yet) sealed to the ground. That required seat of the pants feel and large "attachments".

Ryan Newman was so fast back then, him just qualifying was was must see TV
The current era cars can' t compare with this.

I miss when stock cars used to sing
I miss Nascar back then
Back when the cars went over 200 mph
That car just screams Yes daddy.
:18 look at that twisted sister car
Than in 2013 Gordon SHATTERED the track record with a 27.7. Good Lord, these guys man, impressive.
Dat bounce on the backstretch.
Rocket man
This is good but there's been better since they had the pole-meter in the red green or yellow animated graphics.
The good Ol days.
These drivers have no fears lol
My god his 2nd lap was gonna be faster
0:29-0:32
You can hear it echo off in the distance off the press boxes almost gives me chills just so beautiful
Look at that front valence. Way off the track
Back when he was fast.
Ikr I miss Newman back then. Still like him today too
Back when there weren't just 4 teams that could consistently win
He now he’s still winning a lot, just not in nascar. Put Newman on Hendrick and I bet he would’ve done well for himself
40 tenths? That's 4 seconds
