Let's start with the pronunciation - Ford is requesting that people refer to it as the "EchoSport".
Either way, there's plenty to like about this car. It's stylish, features angular headlights which come with LED daytime strips, 16-inch wheels and silver roof rails -- all as standard.
It's only available in front-wheel-drive, but it has 200mm of ground clearance and a wading depth of 550mm. It's perhaps not as striking as the Nissan Juke, or as personalised as the Renault Captur, though.
There's also another major flaw. The rear styling is ruined by a big spare wheel -- and there's no option to have it removed, either. Meanwhile, the boot swings out like a fridge door, so once you've parked in a tight parallel space or a multi-story car park, there's no accessing the boot.
On the plus side, the EcoSport drives really well, and as it shares most of its mechanicals with the Fiesta, the weighty steering and precise gearbox both feel really well engineered.
There are three engines to choose from in the line-up, including a 110bhp 1.5-litre petrol and a range-topping 1.5-litre diesel. In this video review, we test the 1.0-litre EcoBoost model, which reaches 0-62mph in 12.7 seconds and still managing to return 53.3mpg.

Whats the fuss about the looks of Ecosport, sure it isnt the best looker but hell it looks sporty, interior is not best but please do check up websites for the features it offers, The competition will be put to shame,price tag is brilliant, the tall ground clearance dosent mean it cn offroad but if some one does like walking into a car rather than diving into it Ecosport makes sense, Its more spacious inside than a Fiesta now beat that! Fiesta is UKs best selling hatch, the 1.5 90 hp diesel engine will easily clock above 40 mpg and has nearly 0 turbo lag unlike Renault captur and Peugot and has less than 120 CO2 so less tax as well,True to Fords DNA its the best drivers car in the segment as well, then why can Ecosport be a better Fiesta on steroids
The rear mounted spare wheel might look ugly but it serves purpose,ecoboost is fun 2 drive and ecoboost engine note is song to ear unlike this guy tells, its really superb 2 hear that tiny 3 pot, I still think apart from rear design the Ecosport is a better Fiesta
I have the 2015 Ecosport Titanium Ecoboost 1.0L, and man does it pull when you put your foot down, the features inside the car has all you need - Cruise control, duel airbags in front and in the back and curtain airbags, the audio system is more than enough to enjoy yourself, there are enough headroom and legroom for passengers, the boot isnt spacious but the foldable chairs make up for that. Dont let the 1.0L engine fool you because hidden underneath is a small turbo which gives you the power of a 1.6L and the fuel economy of a 1.0L and it has no trouble overtaking cars on the fast lane.

It's a awesome car.Its a practical car for heavy traffic and compact Parking.Possibly Americans can never able to deal with compact SUVs as they always need a truck in a shape of SUV.

From a country that saw its automotive industry destroy itself (the BMC, Leyland, rover)
And all other brands sold off to foreign companies
TVR purchased by a Russian millionaire who just forgot about it
Aston Martin got purchased by Ford and then sold off
Lotus is owned by Malaysian government
Rover is owned by Chinese
Mini is owned by Germans
And the jag and land rover of course owned by Indians
In Argentina the brand new 4WD model called titanium costs 10.000 pounds and it comes with lots of features.
the ecosport is coming to the states with a completely different design. The American ecosport will come with either a 1.0l 3 cylinder ecoboost engine standard with fwd. There is also an AWD version coming to the states with a 2.0l NA engine.

I am looking at these now for a smaller suv, just drove a seat arona which is nice drives almost silent but inside feels basic

In my family we have the 2.0 litre 16v engine. Much more powerful, also 4x4.

£16,000 for that? If it was any better looking I'd go for it but I'd rather settle for a top-spec Dacia Duster which is both cheaper and bigger.
Not sure if they even needed to make this Fiesta based mini-crossover. Just go for the Escape or Focus.

I have the 2015 Ecosport Titanium 1.0L Ecoboost and man does it pull when you put yoir foot down, dont let the 1.0L fool you, it has a small built in turbo which make this car fuel efficient and gives the power of a 1.6L, thr handling is smooth, passanger space is spacious and the features of the car is superb.

That rear end door, they must make two version of that one!, the big tire goes to the the more rough outside zones countries with less good roads and a normal upwards door the city buyers.
If this Ford needs to extend any appeal there must come a 4x4 version over time and it´s must be slightly rugged fun. It´s just not pretty enough and the rear section is not really a successful combination IMO
Did anyone notice how big that rear view windscreen blackout was? Seamed almost like rear visibility would be restricted due to this.

Even that the Duke is not pretty either it sort of has it´s awkward charme which creates a statement and a personality - This is rather in between all and not nearly as refined a design as the fiesta.
Hi I am from India and let me tell you this car is a big hit in our country mainly because of its irresistible price and the in your face styling.Ours is a SUV crazy country which has made this car(pseudo SUV) highly desirable . It had bagged almost 30k bookings just within a fortnight of its launch,currently all bookings are closed.Ford just can't make enough of these to satisfy the huge demand.Also this car is doing well in Brazil where its outselling its prime competition,the Dacia Duster.
For me this car is the most logical buy. It's below 250million Rupiah which is below $20k has got a lot of feature. I think European and American people get used to see the top notch car quality like Renault, Volvo, top classes Ford C-Max, etc.
This car is absolutely water in a dessert when cheap and poorly made Japanese car dominates the market, Ecosport came out of the blue and freaks out every Japanese car manufacturer because ford took out a chunk of their selling. I say a big chunk of selling.
For below $20k this car is hard to resist.

WTF ! ECO SPORT ???!!! Are you kidding me ? This is the completely opposite of what the words ECO and SPORT are for !!
For beeing ECO, you will need to lower the center of gravity, the weight and the aerodynamic signature. THIS thing is nearly a fridge.
And for sport, you need an handling that this car can dream about and a motorisation that is far away from the eco.

This is Ford's Worst car since the scorpio what they did was gave a nice Fiesta to the Brazilian market and like they do with every ford i know is ruin it stupid design not very ECOnomical and they ruined the chassis and manage to make the interior cheap well done Ford South America (Next Car they have Ruined is the 2014-15 Ford Ka Keep it up )

The Ecosport is actually the successor to the Fusion. In Brazil, they kept making that car your dad has until recently. They call it "EcoSport" there and this is its replacement.

Ford sells the EcoSport in brazil since 2002 and this is the new model.
Ford sold the old Fusion between 2005-2012 and in 2013 they launched the new model.
Get your facts straigh before you confirm something like that.
