Came home to some very large packages on my doorstep!!!! Opened them up to find out that I had received my Grand prize items today from the giveaway!!!! These giveaways are legitimate! Good luck to everyone on the next giveaway =]
This is coming from a 1 year experience journeyman concrete carpenter. I've had my fair share in the mud too and I applaud you roding technique, thank you for not chopping the living hell out of that concrete, other companies we've worked with aren't able to pull it more than a foot of mud at a time.
I use a spin screed weekly. I made the same mistake the first time also. Now i alway have the motor on the right side. Even put together tight it can spin out. Nice looking pour
Seems like a low stress pour. No sweat finish. They're gonna beat it up w grease and fluids anyway. Great job Dave.-- of course you guys make it look low stress. I'd be crapping bricks on a big pour like that!
Hi from rainy SW Scotland Mike, persist with your Spin Screed, it is a very use full tool, get on the website and follow the instructions, I have had one for 4 years and wouldn't be without it Like the different techniques you use, and follow this very closely Not a lot of domestic concrete paving in this country, but I have done a lot of commercial work over 50 years Kind regards David
Dave, Just curious about the "Screed rails"...Did you leave them in the concrete? Pardon me if this is a dumb question, just trying to learn and you put out an amazing product and are a great teacher. Keep up the good work.
In the striping section a week later, I see the dumpster out on the concrete. How long after the pour can you safely park a dumpster there without ruining everything? Thanks in advance and Happy Thanksgiving!
Okay I may have missed it because of the fast forwarding, but the flat metal guides for the spin screed were removed as you went along? Also good work. Loved the video! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family as well!
@@OdellCompleteConcrete did you remove the yellow (plastic?) devices that held the screed rails? Wished you had shown that use closer, realize you had a big pour to get done. Thanks for sharing boss. regards

Your videos are addicting
That's awesome, I hope
The chalk line would seem to negate a 'free hand' cut, however it is straight. I like the saw rig. Good work.

Amazing work as always. Some new tools require a learning curve. Other tools are just gimmicks. Keep up the good work.
Yes I'll give it another try and see what I can suggest
Difference between a Fresno, big blue, and funny trowel? Are they all essentially the same?
Big blue is blue steel, The others are stainless steel
@@OdellCompleteConcrete do the different steels make a difference?
he mans key ways right when talking about the separation of the slabs
?
and its a parking lot so that works great
Smooooth operation fellas!! Kudo's

Another great video. Hope to see the roto- tube in action some time. Not seen any one show and explain the operation of one of them. 👍👍
Yes I need to work with it a bit more so that I can talk about it.
If you ever want to use Robertson's. My good friend is the OC salesman. I'm a mixer driver for them also 😊
I have some good stories about Robertson's documented
Great looking finish.

Great video. Never tried spin screed, looks cool.
It may have some possibility's, I will give it another try and report my findings.

When you cut your control joints are you cutting through the rebar too, or do you shallow the blade to go over the rebar?
I went 1.5"s
. Above the rebar
@@OdellCompleteConcrete Thanks
will those rails create a crack in the future? I noticed you didn't remove them but i also know you guys are very experienced.
The rails are decorative

I see you have metal supports to screed from. Do you leave these in the concrete? If yes, do these act as your joints also?
the metal was intended to ride the roller screed on. The metals gets moved as as the concrete pour continues
Nice laid out car in the background ( 3/4 of the way through ;-) )
Yes it's customized
I noticed you don’t apply gravel as a sub base, is it not needed?
Not here, Southern CA.
Beach weather everyday
Did u leave the wood forms in the concrete?
No
Are you guys here in california? i have a lot that needs to be cemented so how much do you guys charge.
5.00 sq.ft
@@OdellCompleteConcrete $5.00 sq. foot ok. I have a lot in mojave next to rosamond california .

No curing protection needed at the top, to prevent oils and such from staining the surface??
It wouldn't hurt
I could only stand the head cam if you slow the speed of those clips down. It gives me a headache just looking at it at normal speed.

Why wasn't the power trowel used?
Didn't need it, I had two just in case.
No stone base?
No need in Southern CA. where its beach weather everyday
No come alongs??
Correct
TOO👏🏽, I just left it 👍🏾

Why use shovels for a decent pour
There easier to use
I never have seen anyone use shovels. Pretty weird seeing that

Not full time but yes
how can i apply mr odell?
1st 👍
Sweet video!
Yes Drum, You did it again
You always seem to use a 3000 mix why not just use a 4K ?
I like the 3000 its hard enough but gives you enough time to work with it, without having to ad retardants
Odell Complete Concrete ok. I know a yard of 3k here is like 117 and a 4K is only 127 so they push the 4
