The actual positioning of the back matters less than it not bending excessively when when you go to lift. If you can't get all the way into the low position with a totally straight back that's okay as long as you brace properly and don't bend about that point in your spine with every rep

Everytime I dead lift I always tense my back muscles and try my hardest to keep the spine neutral and I don’t have any pain so I think I’m good
And he is wrong. What actually happens is people don't train their back properly before doing dead lifts.
